noticed they said the development team will be playing vs those international academies for some of their game, no doubt the nba has thought a lot abt doing a usa basketball academy for hs age players

if we had these the ball brothers might have normal jump shots lol

yeah it really needs to turn into a true feeder/development system or every guy is going to be this anthony edwards kid from georgia taking crazy stepback 3s and shooting under 30%.

guys hitting college age w all sort of injuries and bad medical care is a big issue too, greg oden mightve had a career under a different system

Yeah it does seem like things go wrong in high school but otoh if you’re genetically predisposed to injury it would crop up then quite often

wld think just having access to good trainers medical staff etc from any early age + not being over played by coaches only concerned with winning wld have great benefit

it seems to me that kids who are still growing need a different training regime from those who have attained their full height. concentrating exclusively on bulking up with ever-stronger muscles when your tendons and ligaments are still adapting to new growth seems like a recipe for overstraining weak connective tissues. this is a big problem for youth baseball pitchers, so the rules put in strict limits on pitch counts.

i think i read that the players will need a month to get back in shape.

simmons and russillo were saying that teams have an incentive to get to 70 games b/c otherwise they'll have to refund some of the money they get from the local sports networks. right now teams are between 63 and 67 games played.
