Embiid has the biggest pushover head coach in the nba, maybe in professional basketball period, and the result is that the most talented low post scorer since hakeem spends every night bricking 18 footers

the sixers use al horford like he’s a small forward

embiid looks out of it mentally and physically. even vs the heat the other night he scored like 13 of their first 15 points and then didn’t make another FG until midway through the third quarter.

the way they use embiid is very hard to understand. there's just no concept to their offense.

I can see the Sixers not realizing they need to trade one of Embiid/Simmons until they basically have no value left relative to their contracts and no one wants them. What is shocking to me is how invested the Philly media is in defending these guys? Latest take is that Embiid had a booboo. I expect that out of some small-market media, like Milwaukee or something, not from Philly.

dont think this is such an outrageous thing to say if were talking about talent, embiid started playing basketball late and still wldve been the #1 pick if not for injury, he hasnt improved since he came into the league which suggests hes not working very hard yet hes still good for 23-12, if you dont work hard but are still really good at something thats gotta be talent, and the post is where hes most effective, tho not sure if he knows that

Lots of debate about whether the rockets are fun to watch. For me the reason they aren’t fun is that it’s just year 5 of the same thing. Part of the fun of basketball is watching teams change their offense for new players.

agree but i thought they were actually fun to watch last night and dont understand bills outrage and that game being the final straw. its the same thing but with a twist now that capella is out.

I thought for sure gallinari would get traded to a team that would be happy to extend his contract but I guess he’s gonna he one of the top free agents this summer now? Having another great season

btw russ cut his 3pt attempts in half for the last ~month and has been much better since think part of the capela trade was to get him more room to operate hes been posting a bunch which is an interesting counter to the d laying off his shot

Rockets are infuriating to watch sometimes but I like that there's a team whose gameplan is so much different than everyone else, it's like that one year in the NFL where the Dolphins randomly did the Wildcat a bunch

this is why i am intrigued by the rockets. they are willing to go all in on the biggest strengths of their roster. the 76ers could learn something from it.

xp to lagoon and matt I feel like the obvious answer is shaq. came into the league dominant and ended up a top 10 player of all time. put some respect on the man’s name

I used to be a rockets defender and I still like harden and pj tucker, but what matt said is true, they have been basically running the same offense for like 4 or 5 years now and it’s getting old

Probably the biggest thing that drives me nuts about Embiid is how slow he is in his decision making. I haven't looked into it, but it seems like teams are double-teaming him even more than in the past. So often he gets the ball 10ft from the basket and should see the second defender hedging toward him for a double team. Instead of reacting right away and decisively attacking his defender before the double team can get there (or passing it right away to the open man if the second defender is already committed), he takes 2+ exaggeratedly slow dribbles before he tries to go to the basket, allowing the second defender to come over and block the path to the basket or strip the ball. I know he was a late bloomer, but it seems like maybe his feel for the game was always intuitive and he hasn't learned much since.
