call all destroyer, Wednesday, 22 January 2020 04:44 (six years ago)

jazz are hot right now too but same tier as those others.

omg what did you type to find this gif? (Spottie), Wednesday, 22 January 2020 04:47 (six years ago)

maybe some in season trade cld put one of those teams over the top but everyone always talks about that and it never seems to happen

lag∞n, Wednesday, 22 January 2020 04:51 (six years ago)

worked for the pistons in 04 or whatever (sheed) but they had 4 good starters already and mostly shaq and Kobe combusted after years of internal rage

Clay, Wednesday, 22 January 2020 05:06 (six years ago)

god that was such a satisfying finals

lag∞n, Wednesday, 22 January 2020 05:07 (six years ago)

everyone picking the lakers then the pistons win in 5 lmao

lag∞n, Wednesday, 22 January 2020 05:08 (six years ago)

that was great for the league

omg what did you type to find this gif? (Spottie), Wednesday, 22 January 2020 05:10 (six years ago)

2004 pistons and 2014 spurs were some of the few title winners that had no top 10 talents on their team

*cough* Duncan *cough*

A is for (Aimless), Wednesday, 22 January 2020 05:48 (six years ago)

duncan was years past the point of being a top 10 guys in the league in 2014 and kawhi was too young

Clay, Wednesday, 22 January 2020 06:02 (six years ago)

bingo

majority whip, majority nae nae (m bison), Wednesday, 22 January 2020 11:48 (six years ago)

Jokic is a top 10 player tho.

Matt Armstrong, Wednesday, 22 January 2020 14:30 (six years ago)

And shit in the playoffs he was top 3

Matt Armstrong, Wednesday, 22 January 2020 14:30 (six years ago)

Nuggets need a second guy and in a year or two it really might be MPJ

Matt Armstrong, Wednesday, 22 January 2020 14:31 (six years ago)

Bucks winning would be the best I think. I don’t want another year of Giannis playoff discourse.

Matt Armstrong, Wednesday, 22 January 2020 14:32 (six years ago)

cheering for any other outcome but hoping for bucks the most.

me too

frogbs, Wednesday, 22 January 2020 14:33 (six years ago)

i hope the cwltics win

ciderpress, Wednesday, 22 January 2020 14:53 (six years ago)

Celtics winning would be really really funny. The ultimate Ewing theory.

Matt Armstrong, Wednesday, 22 January 2020 15:47 (six years ago)

idk if Ewing theory really applies if Kyrie already won a title with a different team

frogbs, Wednesday, 22 January 2020 15:55 (six years ago)

Sure it does. If Ewing had won in 94 that wouldn’t invalidate the theory in 99.

Matt Armstrong, Wednesday, 22 January 2020 15:59 (six years ago)

Plumlee out two to four weeks... Nuggets are gonna need Jarred Vanderbilt to give them something. I think he might!

Matt Armstrong, Wednesday, 22 January 2020 16:06 (six years ago)

I'm just trying to translate Simmons-speak, Ewing theory being "great player who doesn't have the championship gear" or whatever

actually thought we got a pretty good example of Ewing theory this last year with Bryce Harper, one of the very few actual examples of this idea coming to fruition

frogbs, Wednesday, 22 January 2020 16:14 (six years ago)

celtics have no size and no bench, if it were just one of those problems mb they could work on fixing it but theyre too flawed to seriously contend

lag∞n, Wednesday, 22 January 2020 16:32 (six years ago)

*this assumes were not gonna worry abt not having a top 10 player

That’s not what Ewing theory is. Ewing theory is that sometimes a star player gets injured and his teammates step into expanded roles and are better/team chemistry improves.

Matt Armstrong, Wednesday, 22 January 2020 17:09 (six years ago)

the real ewing theory is that patrick ewing sucked

lag∞n, Wednesday, 22 January 2020 17:21 (six years ago)

ja was weirdly shafted by the recruiting services, probably because zion was overshadowing him. he only had one major school offer him (south carolina), and he went to murray state cause they offered him first lol.

culture of mayordom (voodoo chili), Wednesday, 22 January 2020 17:33 (six years ago)

also weirdly he wasnt particularly great his freshman year but has been unstoppable since

lag∞n, Wednesday, 22 January 2020 17:35 (six years ago)

like hes doing better his 1st year in the nba than he did his 1st year in college

lag∞n, Wednesday, 22 January 2020 17:35 (six years ago)

function of teammates, probably

culture of mayordom (voodoo chili), Wednesday, 22 January 2020 18:03 (six years ago)

idk i still say its weird, the nba is much harder than mid major college ball

lag∞n, Wednesday, 22 January 2020 18:04 (six years ago)

he did ball out in the tourney

some people peak in high school or college, some are late bloomers

that was his sophomore season

lag∞n, Wednesday, 22 January 2020 18:25 (six years ago)

also some guys' games are better suited to NBA style of play than NCAA, and vice versa

A True White Kid that can Jump (Granny Dainger), Wednesday, 22 January 2020 18:30 (six years ago)

he was great his sophomore season, he went from a barely recruited guy who had a good but not nearly spectacular freshman season to a superstar in his sophomore year and just kept it rolling into the pros, not a huge deal just kinda an unusual progression is all

lag∞n, Wednesday, 22 January 2020 18:34 (six years ago)

wonder if he worked on some skill that unlocked his game that summer before he blew up

lag∞n, Wednesday, 22 January 2020 18:35 (six years ago)

he forgot to apply his stat points from previous level ups

ciderpress, Wednesday, 22 January 2020 18:38 (six years ago)

xp ah yes, forgot that he wasn't a one and done

culture of mayordom (voodoo chili), Wednesday, 22 January 2020 19:58 (six years ago)

hopefully nothing

Nuggets forward Michael Porter Jr. is questionable with back tightness.
