To me, the insider stuff is the only reason to listen to him on basketball. If he tries to talk strategy or scouting, I'm fastforwarding to the brunch talk.

Well there's insider stuff from player perspective which I love a ton. And there's insider stuff from a beat reporter type perspective or about the league as a business, which I could not care less about. Different strokes tho obv. Seems like most sports fans eat that stuff up.

By insider stuff I mean more like "Delonte West fucked Lebron's mom"

okay, the podcasts are pretty good. lol, occasionally you can tell they're just sitting in front of their computers with basketball-reference open b/c they'll quote a partial season stat as if it were actually for the whole season.

i went back and read the michael lewis "no-stats all-star" shane battier article that i think i missed the first time around b/c he mentioned it in the 2001 podcast with lowe. nice little blast from the past, even had hinkie in it when he was still working for the rockets.

it's basically just let's remember some guys for the nba in podcast form and honestly i couldn't ask for anything better.

ok, so i was watching the 2004 redraftable and two things:

1. Bill picked Anderson Varejao ahead of JR Smith, which is ridiculous. He acknowledged the mistake within minutes, but still.

2. I was reminded of ill-fated SuperSonics pick Robert Swift, which led me to google him to remind myself what he looks like, which led me to this pic:
