wonder if the game getting less physical is letting players develop faster, luka and trae top five in scoring in their 2nd years, ja lighting it up as a rookie
― lag∞n, Wednesday, 15 January 2020 16:30 (six years ago)
ie they dont have to wait to get big muscles before theyre good

Morant is doing open court ballhandling stuff that I’m not sure we’ve seen since White Chocolate, and his stuff actually works
― Matt Armstrong, Wednesday, 15 January 2020 17:01 (six years ago)
yeah its legit
― lag∞n, Wednesday, 15 January 2020 17:03 (six years ago)

yeah i think this is true plus pace of game. it's just a really nice time to be a perimeter player on offense.
― call all destroyer, Wednesday, 15 January 2020 17:20 (six years ago)
Luka is just a freak and is also built like a truck. Trae is the guy who seems to be of this era and reflective of a new kind of basketball. OTOH he’s the worst defender in the nba so there’s an adjustment going on there
― Matt Armstrong, Wednesday, 15 January 2020 17:27 (six years ago)
I was a Trae skeptic because so much of his game is built on crazy threes but it looks like he really can shoot those at a good clip which makes him a monster
― Matt Armstrong, Wednesday, 15 January 2020 17:29 (six years ago)
insane court vision too. the defense thing is a big deal tho.
― omg what did you type to find this gif? (Spottie), Wednesday, 15 January 2020 17:33 (six years ago)

Yeah think so. Plus the continuing of the trend of each class of new players who have grown up where basketball=handles+deep shooting prowess. On the whole young guys are so much better at both than in the past.
― A True White Kid that can Jump (Granny Dainger), Wednesday, 15 January 2020 18:12 (six years ago)
ja currently really close to a 50/40/80 start to the season...
― omg what did you type to find this gif? (Spottie), Wednesday, 15 January 2020 18:13 (six years ago)
xp also coaches have no compunction against letting youngsters off the leash like they used to
― A True White Kid that can Jump (Granny Dainger), Wednesday, 15 January 2020 18:19 (six years ago)
Tell that to Mike Malone!
― Matt Armstrong, Wednesday, 15 January 2020 18:20 (six years ago)

players come into the league w insane skills now i think the trainer phenomenon has something to do w it, schools are limited in the amount of time theyre allowed to work w players and theyre more concerned w winning than development

they had 2 back-to-backs with travel last week they're still kinda gassed i think. and they have a 3rd tomorrow vs milwaukee, probably about as much of a scheduled loss as possible
― ciderpress, Thursday, 16 January 2020 01:51 (six years ago)
I remember during Towns’ rookie season when people said he was “future mvp” like it was a title bestowed officially
