Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is the first player in NBA history aged 21 or under to have a 20 point, 20 rebound, 10 assist game.

that is a LOT of rebounds for a guard

call all destroyer, Tuesday, 14 January 2020 03:32 (four years ago) link

to be fair, the bigs in OKC have been trained to let guards get the rebounds.

EZ Snappin, Tuesday, 14 January 2020 03:36 (four years ago) link

lmao

Don’t listen to charlatans that say the midrange game is dead. Star players still take them, role players have moved back to give more space.
Also, thresholds on hex plots can be abused to drive a narrative.

its really the long twos thatve fallen off a cliff, down by 50% in that chart, wldve expect the in between game to have increased feels like floaters are a bigger deal now but its pretty stable in those charts

he has the images in reverse chronological order there btw

lag∞n, Wednesday, 15 January 2020 22:57 (four years ago) link

yeah the long twos are the killer. funny to watch old iverson clips and hes doing step backs and pull ups with his heels basically on the 3p line multiple times per game it seems.

omg what did you type to find this gif? (Spottie), Wednesday, 15 January 2020 23:00 (four years ago) link

yeah no one gave a shit lol

pop welcome

lag∞n, Wednesday, 15 January 2020 23:19 (four years ago) link

btw noticed that harden takes a not that common shot all the time now, its an in between shot thats a runner rather than a floater like he doesnt stop to shoot it he takes it on the move, and hits it like crazy, sometimes its even kinda a half hook too, creative man

lag∞n, Wednesday, 15 January 2020 23:25 (four years ago) link

Was frustrating that he never really evolved beyond that. A lot like David Robinson.

Matt Armstrong, Thursday, 16 January 2020 00:37 (four years ago) link

I never thought Aldridge would figure out 3s

Matt Armstrong, Thursday, 16 January 2020 01:11 (four years ago) link

lebron 19 pts 19 assists
luka 21-15-17

k3vin k., Thursday, 16 January 2020 10:54 (four years ago) link

Luka 6 TOs & < 50% FG too

A True White Kid that can Jump (Granny Dainger), Thursday, 16 January 2020 16:18 (four years ago) link

six turnovers is fine when you have 19 assists

k3vin k., Thursday, 16 January 2020 17:38 (four years ago) link

I only watched the first half and he didn’t really seem to have it going, looks like he played better in the second. he actually hasn’t looked as good since coming back from injury, wonder if something is lingering

k3vin k., Thursday, 16 January 2020 17:40 (four years ago) link

expecting him to play how he did to start the season all the time is a lot

lag∞n, Thursday, 16 January 2020 17:41 (four years ago) link

shooting 31.7% from three on the season. his free throw rate and percentages look good. hovering around 60% true shooting. got to get that three percentage up to at least league average tho.

omg what did you type to find this gif? (Spottie), Thursday, 16 January 2020 17:43 (four years ago) link

theres really not any reason for him to take such difficult 3s when he can get anywhere on the court he wants

lag∞n, Thursday, 16 January 2020 17:45 (four years ago) link

yeah there’s so many times where he takes a shot from 4 or 5 feet from behind the line when he’s already lost his defender beyond any hope

then again I feel like I read somewhere in the past couple years that NBA dudes don’t really lose too much accuracy taking deeper threes, but maybe I’m misremembering

k3vin k., Thursday, 16 January 2020 23:03 (four years ago) link

i think its more an issue of being on balance a good state to shoot than distance seems like his range is real good

lag∞n, Thursday, 16 January 2020 23:10 (four years ago) link

i wonder if some of it might be his insanely high usage no one really has the energy to drive every possession

lag∞n, Thursday, 16 January 2020 23:11 (four years ago) link

if dallas can improve their roster some of that shd go away

lag∞n, Thursday, 16 January 2020 23:12 (four years ago) link

I've never seen him do a catch-n-shoot. Shooting off dribble is hard! He does look like he's usually on balance and his form is good.

A True White Kid that can Jump (Granny Dainger), Thursday, 16 January 2020 23:12 (four years ago) link

yeah he has the ball in his hands every play wld be interesting to see what he can do off the ball hes so crafty

lag∞n, Thursday, 16 January 2020 23:13 (four years ago) link

was just thinking about this last night actually, the times he doesn’t bring the ball up he’s usually standing around 25 feet from the hoop waiting to take over if the play gets busted, and yeah he never catches and shoots it seems. I mean dallas has literally the best offense of all time so it’s working, but he def has a lot of stuff to add to his game, great time to be alive

k3vin k., Thursday, 16 January 2020 23:17 (four years ago) link

theres gotta be no way his and dallas play can hold up like this for an entire season but obvs a step down wld still be silly good

the harden special.

omg what did you type to find this gif? (Spottie), Thursday, 16 January 2020 23:20 (four years ago) link

Deandre ayton has 13 free throw attempts in 10 games. 305 minutes.

Matt Armstrong, Friday, 17 January 2020 00:35 (four years ago) link

doesn't he like, only shoot 15-footers?

call all destroyer, Friday, 17 January 2020 00:37 (four years ago) link

makes sense considering hes a super athletic 7ft strongman

lag∞n, Friday, 17 January 2020 00:46 (four years ago) link

Don’t see how he can ever pan out with his general attitude about things

Matt Armstrong, Friday, 17 January 2020 00:48 (four years ago) link

i will never forget his interview from when he got drafted and he just talked about how much work it was to play basketball.

call all destroyer, Friday, 17 January 2020 01:05 (four years ago) link

lmao i feel him im def not cut out for the nba either

lag∞n, Friday, 17 January 2020 01:06 (four years ago) link
