Riley is the perfect exec to handle Jimmy, figure at some point he'll take him aside and suggest he's "demonstrating a failure to show appreciation".

yeah like there was a franchise out there already self-selecting for "players who could reasonably get along with jimmy butler", good for jimmy (and the heat) that he found it

They need to play MPJ 20 minutes a game. His good-case scenario is just too perfect for what they need and they need to give it every chance.

if they want to have groups out there with one starter and four reserves it needs to be brown or hayward. tatum can't do it right now.

― lag∞n, Thursday, 12 December 2019 16:10 (four years ago) link

its horrible and also an incredible story how he shoots like that cause his crazy dad made him shoot 3s when he was too small

― de-mamba mentality (Spottie), Thursday, 12 December 2019 17:07 (four years ago) link
imo the question for lonzo is can he learn how to play meaningfully w/in a halfcourt offense while off the ball? bcuz as long as the pels have ingram and zion and jrue, he's never going to be handling the ball much. if he can't ever shoot then it's a huge problem because then he's basically like late career rondo if he's ever on the court w/ the team's three other best players. personally i still think he needs to get to a team that has minutes to give to a ball dominant guard, prob as a sixth man, so that he can properly start to develop his game. he needs to find his oladipo in indiana or whatever. i can still envision him as like... jamal crawford/lou williams level impact in the style of jason kidd's game. but in new orleans that's not gonna happen and i feel like he might just flame out of the nba.
― J0rdan S., Thursday, 12 December 2019 17:38 (four years ago) link
It’s hard for me to imagine that he can’t hack it with his defense, passing and size. Ricky Rubio figured it out (and was a net positive from the jump).
― Matt Armstrong, Thursday, 12 December 2019 17:42 (four years ago) link
yeah but rubio's teams put the ball in his hands from the jump. that's why i think lonzo needs a new team. the problem is you start going down the list of even the bad teams and it's hard to find a place that has no other guards it wants to develop. i feel like the lavar in the no 1 media market aspect might make it untenable, but the knicks would be a great place for him to land.
― J0rdan S., Thursday, 12 December 2019 18:06 (four years ago) link
