yeah. it's either three or six months from the date he extended which was 10/21. different rules for extensions for reasons i am not clear on.
― call all destroyer, Tuesday, 10 December 2019 02:41 (four years ago) link
from what i can tell the six-month restriction would only apply to a 4+ year extension where ingles only extended for a year....
― call all destroyer, Tuesday, 10 December 2019 02:43 (four years ago) link
ah there u go
― lag∞n, Tuesday, 10 December 2019 02:44 (four years ago) link
i just asked danny leroux on twitter b/c now i am very invested in this trivial question for a team i don't even like.
― call all destroyer, Tuesday, 10 December 2019 02:45 (four years ago) link
lmao
― lag∞n, Tuesday, 10 December 2019 02:46 (four years ago) link
i don't know that we have recent proof that a star big is enough to win in the nba without wings

he should play for sac
― ciderpress, Tuesday, 10 December 2019 02:51 (four years ago) link
Love would feel at home in Sacramento - as a place to live. He might even like playing with that team, since it is on one of its periodic upticks that happen just before a couple of its newly cultivated stars turn UFA and head out of town.

marc gasol is good at defense, in my opinion

hahah bjelica sinks the rockets with a deep 3 at the buzzer

I honestly don’t know if Love is a better player than Ingles at this point and even if he was Ingles offers totally different things. But I guess they are desperate
― Matt Armstrong, Tuesday, 10 December 2019 04:38 (four years ago) link
So, you're saying Love wouldn't even feel at home in the home he grew up in? Because that's just a few miles from where I live and it isn't LA.
― A is for (Aimless), Tuesday, 10 December 2019 04:41 (four years ago) link
Even if he wants to go back to Oregon that ain’t Sacto
― Matt Armstrong, Tuesday, 10 December 2019 04:44 (four years ago) link
Oregon ain't Sacto. Oregon ain't LA, either. But Sacto is a mid-sized west coast city with a culture somewhat similar to Portland. It might not be his first choice, but he'd adjust pretty fast.

bjelica buzzer beater was v nice
― Clay, Tuesday, 10 December 2019 04:51 (four years ago) link
sacto is .... not very much like portland
― Clay, Tuesday, 10 December 2019 04:52 (four years ago) link
Not very much like Portland, sure but it would be hard to find any NBA city that closely replicates Portland. Most of them are a lot bigger. The smaller ones are places like SLC, Charlotte, San Antonio, OKC, or Minneapolis. Sacto is a closer fit than most.

You think there’s dozens of suicide girls across Sacramento strip clubs? 5 at most.
― Matt Armstrong, Tuesday, 10 December 2019 05:00 (four years ago) link
You're right. I plum left that out of my calculations.

I still don’t understand why Jonas Valanciunas isn’t just accepted as a good player. Like what am I missing
― Matt Armstrong, Tuesday, 10 December 2019 05:10 (four years ago) link
i thought he was considered pretty good on Toronto but no clue what he's up to now
― ciderpress, Tuesday, 10 December 2019 05:16 (four years ago) link
we're on like year 10 of matt asking why some lumbering big man doesn't play more
― J0rdan S., Tuesday, 10 December 2019 05:25 (four years ago) link
He plays 25 minutes a game every year! Like why not 10 more minutes?
― Matt Armstrong, Tuesday, 10 December 2019 05:30 (four years ago) link
always thought he was a defensive liability with the raps. he's a good post scorer for sure.

Wow Dunn’s lack of shooting painfully obvious there. It looked like a fine play up until he came around the 3 pt line unwilling to shoot.
― Matt Armstrong, Tuesday, 10 December 2019 06:59 (four years ago) link
lavine missed that pass out of the double team that really ended any chance of a productive play. not the first time
― k3vin k., Tuesday, 10 December 2019 10:44 (four years ago) link
if jonas valancunius played 10 more minutes he’s be like 10th in the league in minutes and first among centers.
― call all destroyer, Tuesday, 10 December 2019 12:27 (four years ago) link
It just seems like he’s an unusually productive starter who never gets 30 mpg
― Matt Armstrong, Tuesday, 10 December 2019 14:36 (four years ago) link
if only there were some years long trends we could point to in order to explain why a center's minutes are being depressed
― J0rdan S., Tuesday, 10 December 2019 16:28 (four years ago) link
yeah i mean if youre looking for someone who can switch on the perimeter jonas is not yr guy
― lag∞n, Tuesday, 10 December 2019 16:35 (four years ago) link
Then why play him at all
― Matt Armstrong, Tuesday, 10 December 2019 16:54 (four years ago) link
most teams play 2 centers but in the current NBA the less athletic, less stretchy one is almost always gonna get squeezed?
― J0rdan S., Tuesday, 10 December 2019 16:59 (four years ago) link
also memphis has 5 players averaging between 25 and at the max 31 minutes, of which jonas is one. this doesn't seem like a major scandal...

I was at this game last night and this was weird...
Look at KAT LMAOOOOOOOO pic.twitter.com/r4ebWDDghQ— Gianni (@Gianni2225) December 10, 2019
also wiggins def rivals whiteside for not looking like he cares out there. he had 23 points and i dont really remember any of them. wolves vibes were all messed up last night.

oh thats bad
― lag∞n, Tuesday, 10 December 2019 17:09 (four years ago) link
KAT coulda/shoulda easily had 50 last night he was feasting on everyone but they just kinda didnt feed him the ball enough.

A lot of people on twitter were blaming Teague for that video which makes me think KAT isn’t exactly held to the highest standard

mb he has bad stamina xp

this is the same team that trade james harden cause they didnt want to pay the tax!!!
The Thunder are over the luxury tax, but I’m told evading the tax isn’t a priority. The financial penalty is minimal this season, and they’ll be out of the tax in the coming years because of all of the expiring salaries they have over the next two seasons. In fact, the Thunder are actually willing to absorb long-term, pricey salaries in deals, according to league sources.

🚨Love would prefer to play for his hometown Portland Trail Blazers, according to multiple league sources.
― lag∞n, Tuesday, 10 December 2019 17:29 (four years ago) link
hmmm
The Blazers have the salaries to make a deal work with the expiring contracts of Hassan Whiteside ($27.1 million) or Kent Bazemore ($19.3 million). Why not send both to Cleveland and also trade for Tristan Thompson? The Cavs center is also available and would like to play for a contender.
― lag∞n, Tuesday, 10 December 2019 17:30 (four years ago) link
Teams are calling about Malik Beasley apparently. He’s a nice player and I can think of a lot of teams that could use him but what would the nuggets want? A 3 point sniper?
― Matt Armstrong, Tuesday, 10 December 2019 17:32 (four years ago) link
the thing the nugs are short on is size and athleticism (and a 2nd star but not sure if thats relevant to a beasley trade unless he was part of a package)
― lag∞n, Tuesday, 10 December 2019 17:34 (four years ago) link
It’s not great that all their 3 point shooters max out at 37% when their best player is a passer who creates double teams
