I don’t think some magical thing happens in the playoffs. Giannis is the best player in the world and the only reason he wouldn’t be the best player in the playoffs is variance. The same was true for Lebron.

MJ's shooting % starting falling by that age, and points/rebs/asts were all down a tick. LBJ basically still has same numbers for all those as he did in the typical late 20s athletic prime.

There are certain players who don’t give a shit about the regular season and turn it on tho

They call fouls less and sometimes they totally shaft role players. Two things that I don’t seeing a big problem for Giannis (certainly wasn’t for Shaq)

giannis might want to think about making his game more like shaqs

imo the 2011 Finals were more about Dirk than Lebron

still hard to fault him too much when he got to the Finals all 4 years he was on the team then 4 more times with the Cavs, all with oddly constructed teams. when Jordan left to go play baseball the Bulls were still pretty decent, they won 55 games & a playoff series, meanwhile all of Bron's ex-teams utterly fell apart the instant he left

idk i dont think its difficult to see the flaws in giannis game

matchups are more important in the offs cause teams have more time/incentive to prepare, its more strategic than the regular season where u m/l just have to play yr game and move on to the next

the playoffs are cool just my opinion, and the contrast w the regular season is one of the best things abt the nba

having said all that if giannis doesnt actually have a very good team around him is prob a bigger factor, and siakam suddenly becoming a star and so forth

What I remember about the raptors-bucks series:

-eric bledsoe being the worst player in the nba for a few games
-that one time Kawhi dunked on Giannis and then Giannis swatted him or whatever

still if he wld stop getting suckered into low% jumpers hed be better off, but thats also based on how he plays if youre constantly handling the ball at the top of the key youre gonna have to take some js

some day there'll be a player similar to Giannis physically but a knock down shooter, yikes

all that becomes exploitable against very good defensive teams w time 2 prepare when small edges matter a lot

one thing i recall and that series is kawhi just rising up and hitting jumpers in an undefendable fashion

Kawhi was 11-32 from 3 in that series
