the rising skill level of nba rookies is a good trend. the rising number of serious injuries among all nba players is a bad trend. to my mind there's a chance these two trends are related. the game is pushing hard at human physical limits and pushing young people ever harder while their bodies are not fully mature. among other things, it is easier to grow strong muscles fast than it is to grow strong connective tissue fast.

they should play fewer games and especially eliminate back to backs but, you know,

hornets ahve beaten 3 bad teams plus the pacers and gotten blown out by 3 good teams

beating 3 bad teams is way out performing their roster tho

i think they were the favorite vs the warriors at the least

its so crazy the dubs are rolling out the worst roster in the league

the hornets play really hard most of the time. i don't know if borrego is a good coach but i'm inclined to like him for that reason.

the blazers under olshey have always had a weird thing for centers... for that reason them getting whiteside didn't surprise me but trading two rotation players for him when there's gonna be plenty of nights you don't even want him on the floor never made much sense to me. it seems like they just wanted to shake up their bench come hell or high water. meyers leonard btw has been awesome for the heat.

leonard needed a fresh start elsewhere. he had too many resets with the blazers.

needed a replacement for nurk while he’s recovering, olshey’s always had a thing for whiteside, they got him cheap, expiring contract can be flipped if it doesn’t work out (it will not work out) xp

Already on my 3rd Pistons game and can report that Drummond is Drummond but more so this year. Curious to see how he meshes with Blake and a rejuvenated Rose, and what kind of deal he ends up with at the end of the season. I’m sure he loses some rbs once Blake is back, but it’s not crazy that an engaged prime Drummond can reliably give you a 20/20 every night.

he looks lil bit smoother on offense

it's hard to figure out how to value drummond. nobody needs a center that much and the limitations are there, on the other hand he never misses a game and keeps improving on the margins.

yeah he still does heaps of drummondy stuff. hard to know how much you would want to pay for the privilege of committing to drummond centric basketball

i think casey is doing a pretty good job of coaching this average roster

Ok I don’t think chucking up 50 3s a game is gonna work for the Bucks

Drummond contract year! Can’t imagine he’ll get the huge multi year deal someone like him would’ve gotten in the past. Would be cool to see him somewhere else; he’s only played on one team with a winning record his entire career. Have to say, lots of dead expressions from him tonight, kinda reminds me of Cousins putting up a 30/20 in another loss and constantly having an Oh Well look.

Seems like he’s got the free throw q settled, which makes him so much more of a weapon on offense.

Lowe mentioned Brogdon’s stroke in his 10 Things column this week but have to say, he has the worst form of any 50-40-90 shooter. Weird ass release, and Oladipo’s release sucks, too, never feel confident on the shot.
