Chauncey's just saying what was pretty obvious at least two years ago.

yes this is the point, we all know it but this is being delivered by an actual past teammate and friend.

big city slam (Spottie), Thursday, 11 July 2019 02:13 (six years ago)

hoops intervention should be an nba tv show

Fuck the NRA (ulysses), Thursday, 11 July 2019 02:42 (six years ago)

AI was maybe my favorite player of all time but I think he suffered from this problem too, still thinking he was all-NBA caliber when skill-wise he was barely hanging on

Evans on Hammond (evol j), Thursday, 11 July 2019 04:01 (six years ago)

yeah he coulda been a jamal crawford 6 man type for years had he been able to

big city slam (Spottie), Thursday, 11 July 2019 04:19 (six years ago)

wave papi 2/30 to stay with suns

big city slam (Spottie), Thursday, 11 July 2019 05:13 (six years ago)

that seems like a fair deal, surprised they managed to stop themselves from giving him 4/60

J0rdan S., Thursday, 11 July 2019 05:24 (six years ago)

i think maybe they wanted to give him a longer deal but he wants to be a FA in a couple years when he can make more money?

big city slam (Spottie), Thursday, 11 July 2019 05:32 (six years ago)

ah... kelly oubre betting on himself while playing for the suns. godspeed to him

J0rdan S., Thursday, 11 July 2019 13:37 (six years ago)

lol

so it looks like okc is asking for 2 of 3 of winslow, bam & tyler herro aka 2 of the heat's only 3 decent assets. the heat are balking understandably since they also want to keep their good players.

the most fair trade to me would just be an exchange of bad contracts but it seems more likely to me that the two teams settle on winslow as the one valuable piece going back to OKC

J0rdan S., Thursday, 11 July 2019 18:55 (six years ago)

primarily bcuz it seems like he needs the ball in his hands and if the heat have westbrook and jimmy that job will be filled

J0rdan S., Thursday, 11 July 2019 18:56 (six years ago)

the trade should be an even trade no way heat should give up that much. winslow is fine. bam and herro is too much.

big city slam (Spottie), Thursday, 11 July 2019 19:19 (six years ago)

the other thing is... does jimmy want to play with russ? seems like he wanted to be the dude in miami now he'd have to deal with russ idk

big city slam (Spottie), Thursday, 11 July 2019 19:20 (six years ago)

has it occurred to the heat that they could just not acquire westbrook?

call all destroyer, Thursday, 11 July 2019 19:20 (six years ago)

they really shouldn't

big city slam (Spottie), Thursday, 11 July 2019 19:21 (six years ago)

everyone is like "oh that's the heat, that's just what they do," but....they could also *not* do it.

call all destroyer, Thursday, 11 July 2019 19:27 (six years ago)

the heat's problem is that they seek another star but have no surplus of assets to send out w/o making their team worse to the point that getting the star is sorta pointless. so i feel like they have to evaluate which "star" might come into the market in the next year & how much it might take to acquire that guy. it's possible that russ on an essentially asset-free bad contract swap is their best option.

J0rdan S., Thursday, 11 July 2019 19:32 (six years ago)

one thing that i think is in the heat's favor as it pertains to westbrook is that there is not really an open market per se for him so they may end up w/ leverage in like a closed negotiation. the ultimate question is whether the contract on its own ruins your team in the final 2 seasons regardless of how well you're able to negotiate the acquisition of it.

J0rdan S., Thursday, 11 July 2019 19:35 (six years ago)

they're gonna trade winslow, olynyk, dragic, and a pick. maybe wait a month for herro to become tradeable.

mott the hoopleheads (voodoo chili), Thursday, 11 July 2019 19:35 (six years ago)

they gotta keep bam. he's their 2nd best player right now.

big city slam (Spottie), Thursday, 11 July 2019 19:36 (six years ago)

yeah i'd say he's the guy they're least likely to trade

mott the hoopleheads (voodoo chili), Thursday, 11 July 2019 19:37 (six years ago)

they're def not trading him and i feel like herro has been too good in summer league, they won't trade him

J0rdan S., Thursday, 11 July 2019 19:39 (six years ago)

winslow and dragic would be a pretty great haul for OKC given the circumstances... dragic was hurt last year but he's still legitimately good, they'd prob get good value for him in a flip

J0rdan S., Thursday, 11 July 2019 19:40 (six years ago)

expiring contract too

mott the hoopleheads (voodoo chili), Thursday, 11 July 2019 19:41 (six years ago)

westbrook seems like such a knick i keep presuming that's how this will shake out but maybe he's conscious of having to talk to big city media/work with dolan everyday and doesn't want to idk

Fuck the NRA (ulysses), Thursday, 11 July 2019 19:51 (six years ago)

herro looking like a srsly dangerous shooter

lag∞n, Thursday, 11 July 2019 20:21 (six years ago)

so proud when one of the ballislife kids makes the pros

lag∞n, Thursday, 11 July 2019 20:21 (six years ago)

not sure about the rest of his game in any facet but his shooting looks tailor made for today's game

big city slam (Spottie), Thursday, 11 July 2019 23:04 (six years ago)

here

big city slam (Spottie), Thursday, 11 July 2019 23:04 (six years ago)

serious chance that team misses the offs imo

k3vin k., Thursday, 11 July 2019 23:19 (six years ago)

only an injury is keeping curry and dray out of the playoffs imo. that duo is better than a lot of the duos in there.

ive got the thunder falling out and the lakers in. kings the only other team i see making a run at the offs for now.

big city slam (Spottie), Thursday, 11 July 2019 23:28 (six years ago)

Clippers, lakers, rockets, nuggets, blazers, Jazz are locks to make the playoffs.

Suns, Thunder (assuming they trade WB), TWolves, Mavs, Grizzlies are very likely to miss.

Leaves the warriors and spurs to duke it out with the pelicans and Kings. I’d bet on the warriors to make it out of that bunch tbh

mott the hoopleheads (voodoo chili), Thursday, 11 July 2019 23:29 (six years ago)

i kind of love them being an underdog again lol

big city slam (Spottie), Thursday, 11 July 2019 23:31 (six years ago)

feel like w russell dubs shd be in the offs but theyre def not good

lag∞n, Thursday, 11 July 2019 23:31 (six years ago)

a lot will ride on how klay looks when he comes back. knowing klay he'll be ready by opening night. too high to tell if his knee is healed or not.

big city slam (Spottie), Thursday, 11 July 2019 23:32 (six years ago)

morris marcus to knicks lol sorry bison

big city slam (Spottie), Thursday, 11 July 2019 23:33 (six years ago)

Spurs have pulled offer to Marcus Morris and agreed to a deal with free agent Trey Lyles, league sources tell ESPN.

big city slam (Spottie), Thursday, 11 July 2019 23:41 (six years ago)

the warriors being at the hard cap with that team is pretty scary. other than a russell trade post 12/15 they literally can't improve the roster.

call all destroyer, Thursday, 11 July 2019 23:59 (six years ago)

they have a 17 mill trade exception from the iggy deal next year

big city slam (Spottie), Friday, 12 July 2019 00:01 (six years ago)

that's next year though. the hard cap also goes away next year. for this year they're incredibly fragile.

call all destroyer, Friday, 12 July 2019 00:01 (six years ago)

oh yeah theyre strapped for sure

big city slam (Spottie), Friday, 12 July 2019 00:03 (six years ago)

lotta dubs fans hoping iggy is traded again then waived then comes back for pennies lol

big city slam (Spottie), Friday, 12 July 2019 00:04 (six years ago)

lol good luck to them

call all destroyer, Friday, 12 July 2019 00:12 (six years ago)

i think the dubs will be comfortably in the playoffs

J0rdan S., Friday, 12 July 2019 00:13 (six years ago)

it feels very... morris twins for marcus morris to screw up his free agency after managing to have a huge contract year

J0rdan S., Friday, 12 July 2019 00:15 (six years ago)

I hope the Knicks tell him they’re not gonna pay him as much now that his options are closed
