but if he just wanted to play with paul george it doesn't explain why he didn't have him traded to toronto... it's not like paul george had a say in the matter

J0rdan S., Saturday, 6 July 2019 06:28 (six years ago)

They both want to be in LA!

big city slam (Spottie), Saturday, 6 July 2019 06:29 (six years ago)

get the feeling kawhi was always going to the clippers just a matter of who he could strongarm them into getting to come along

Clay, Saturday, 6 July 2019 06:29 (six years ago)

4/142 for kawhi

big city slam (Spottie), Saturday, 6 July 2019 06:30 (six years ago)

Waiting for the KCP lakers signing to drop

big city slam (Spottie), Saturday, 6 July 2019 06:33 (six years ago)

if you follow the logic of kawhi allegedly saying that he wouldn't have gone there if they couldn't get paul george, then he would've... gone back to toronto but... not asked them to trade for paul george? it just feels like a cover for me in the hopes that will people will be like, well you can't blame kawhi for wanting to team up with *paul george* in LA! i'm supposed to believe that if okc had told the clippers to kick rocks that kawhi wouldn't have started going down the list... nobody's actually signed a contract yet. would he not have tried to recruit jimmy butler? he decided that he wanted to be in LA and then figured out how to get another star to come with him.

J0rdan S., Saturday, 6 July 2019 06:33 (six years ago)

Woj said he may have gone to the lakers

big city slam (Spottie), Saturday, 6 July 2019 06:34 (six years ago)

Sources: Leonard and George met in LA earlier in week. Clippers had long been frontrunners for Leonard, but it is unlikely he would've made final leap to sign without PG trade. Clippers imagined Leonard as part of a Lakers Big 3 --- and knew they had no choice. They did OKC deal.

big city slam (Spottie), Saturday, 6 July 2019 06:35 (six years ago)

clips looking like the early champ front runners here

lag∞n, Saturday, 6 July 2019 06:36 (six years ago)

i wonder if that means that the clippers just feared he would go there and that made them act semi-irrationally, or if there was actual intel that the lakers were his second choice

J0rdan S., Saturday, 6 July 2019 06:36 (six years ago)

I’m so so happy. This season is gonna be so fun

tashted the milk of human kindnesh - an' it's a lot of Fermillac (fionnland), Saturday, 6 July 2019 06:37 (six years ago)

Only one team in the league with three all stars from last season now (dubs)

big city slam (Spottie), Saturday, 6 July 2019 06:38 (six years ago)

Lakers went from ruining the league to starting Jared Dudley in a matter of seconds 😂😂😂

— DVS (@DVSWhatItTweets) July 6, 2019

big city slam (Spottie), Saturday, 6 July 2019 06:40 (six years ago)

yeah but one's hurt and two play the same position, makeup of the dubs is super weird rn xp

Clay, Saturday, 6 July 2019 06:40 (six years ago)

so who is gonna start for the clippers now with pat bev, kawhi and pg

J0rdan S., Saturday, 6 July 2019 06:41 (six years ago)

That’s true I’m just saying

big city slam (Spottie), Saturday, 6 July 2019 06:41 (six years ago)

Montrez

big city slam (Spottie), Saturday, 6 July 2019 06:42 (six years ago)

do they still have lou will coming off the bench? god they're gonna be good.

Clay, Saturday, 6 July 2019 06:43 (six years ago)

Patrick Beverley / Landry Shamet
Paul George / Lou Williams
Kawhi Leonard / Rodney McGruder
Moe Harkless / Mfiondu Kabengele
Ivica Zubac / Montrezl Harrell

(With Lou and Trez usually closing)

big city slam (Spottie), Saturday, 6 July 2019 06:43 (six years ago)

Front court depth is suspect for sure but they could still land someone

big city slam (Spottie), Saturday, 6 July 2019 06:44 (six years ago)

their defense is going to be insane

lag∞n, Saturday, 6 July 2019 06:45 (six years ago)

I’m not sold on pat bev as a big minutes player either, dude is always banged up

big city slam (Spottie), Saturday, 6 July 2019 06:45 (six years ago)

pg & kawhi can both play the 4 and theres a bunch of center still out there

lag∞n, Saturday, 6 July 2019 06:46 (six years ago)

dwight is available i hear

Clay, Saturday, 6 July 2019 06:47 (six years ago)

In the end, Kawhi Leonard didn't want to construct a Super Team with the Lakers. He wanted a co-star across the Staples corridor with the Clippers, and made it clear to Steve Ballmer and Lawrence Frank: Get PG, and I'm coming.

— Adrian Wojnarowski (@wojespn) July 6, 2019

big city slam (Spottie), Saturday, 6 July 2019 06:47 (six years ago)

lol did the knicks sign too many pointless free agents to fulfill their destiny of trading for russ

lag∞n, Saturday, 6 July 2019 06:48 (six years ago)

i feel like they might try and acquire vets to start at both PF and C. dudes like shamet and zubac aren't usually long for teams like this. also no one really goes thru a full season starting 3 wings. those guys don't wanna take that pounding.

J0rdan S., Saturday, 6 July 2019 06:49 (six years ago)

I'm coming.

— Adrian Wojnarowski (@wojespn) July 6, 2019

J0rdan S., Saturday, 6 July 2019 06:49 (six years ago)

OKC acquired THREE unprotected first-round picks from the Clippers in this trade (2022, 2024 and 2026), league sources say, PLUS two firsts from Miami (2021 unprotected and 2023 protected 1-to-14) ... AND the right to swap picks with the Clips in 2023 and 2025. Staggering

lag∞n, Saturday, 6 July 2019 06:54 (six years ago)

I love that no big FAs wanted to sign in LebronLAnd with all the klutch pals.

big city slam (Spottie), Saturday, 6 July 2019 06:55 (six years ago)

i'm lovin it

omar little, Saturday, 6 July 2019 06:57 (six years ago)

LeBron James
Steph Curry
Kawhi Leonard
Paul George
Anthony Davis
Klay Thompson
Draymond Green

That’s the Pacific division before we get to Fox & Hield and sure, Booker we can pretend the Suns exist

— Hardwood Paroxysm (@HPbasketball) July 6, 2019

big city slam (Spottie), Saturday, 6 July 2019 06:57 (six years ago)

it's too bad okc already has two first round picks from the heat bcuz if they do wanna trade russ the heat make a lot of sense

J0rdan S., Saturday, 6 July 2019 06:58 (six years ago)

i mean Kawhi wants to run a team on the floor, he definitely did not want to be part of LeBron's support system.

omar little, Saturday, 6 July 2019 06:59 (six years ago)

russ needs to go to the knicks i feel very strongly about this, with boogie

lag∞n, Saturday, 6 July 2019 07:00 (six years ago)

kawhi to the lakers fundamentally did not make sense, 3 guys of that talent level could never actually play together

J0rdan S., Saturday, 6 July 2019 07:00 (six years ago)

Which la team will boogie go to for the minimum is the question

big city slam (Spottie), Saturday, 6 July 2019 07:01 (six years ago)

russ is a new york city point guard at heart and in shooting percentage

J0rdan S., Saturday, 6 July 2019 07:01 (six years ago)

i think Kawhi will be more embraced in L.A. than LeBron, that's my gut feeling at the moment. SoCal dude comes home, spurns LeBron, lifts the Clippers.

omar little, Saturday, 6 July 2019 07:02 (six years ago)

Waiting for the KCP lakers signing to drop

― big city slam (Spottie), Saturday, July 6, 2019 2:33 AM (thirty minutes ago) bookmarkflaglink

The Lakers are expected to bring back Kentavious Caldwell-Pope on a two year, $16 million deal, per league sources.

— Ramona Shelburne (@ramonashelburne) July 6, 2019

lag∞n, Saturday, 6 July 2019 07:04 (six years ago)

lmao

Clay, Saturday, 6 July 2019 07:06 (six years ago)

More on #Clippers meeting:

They had a Meat and Cheese platter, equipped with over 10 dipping sauces. It made a big impression on Dennis Robertson, Kawhi’s Uncle.

Team and Kawhi feel like they are a good match. Believe SG Danny Green will follow.

— Mychael Anthony (@MychaelNBA) July 2, 2019

Jeff Bathos (symsymsym), Saturday, 6 July 2019 07:13 (six years ago)

Klutch is all too predictable lmao

big city slam (Spottie), Saturday, 6 July 2019 07:17 (six years ago)

Soooo do the raptors just firesale or what

big city slam (Spottie), Saturday, 6 July 2019 07:20 (six years ago)

JaVale McGee has agreed to return to the Lakers, where he’ll likely start at center, league sources tell ESPN. It’s a two-year, $8.2 million deal, with a player option.

— Ramona Shelburne (@ramonashelburne) July 6, 2019

Run it back baby

big city slam (Spottie), Saturday, 6 July 2019 07:21 (six years ago)

Also... maybe the lakers should think about trading lebron for real

big city slam (Spottie), Saturday, 6 July 2019 07:23 (six years ago)

maybe the Lakers should sober up before signing the dotted line here

Clay, Saturday, 6 July 2019 07:24 (six years ago)

With the Lakers signing Danny Green after Kawhi Leonard chose the Clippers, expect the team to have conversations with some of the players on one-year deals from last year’s team — Rajon Rondo, JaVale McGee, Kentavious Caldwell Pope — as they explore ways to fill out the roster

— Dave McMenamin (@mcten) July 6, 2019

Rondo and Lance up next?

big city slam (Spottie), Saturday, 6 July 2019 07:24 (six years ago)

That would be amazing xp

big city slam (Spottie), Saturday, 6 July 2019 07:24 (six years ago)

crazy shit. no doubt russ goss will be forthcoming
