yeah whiteside is def not useless esp on an expiring and it did feel like the dame/cj pairing proved itself in these last offs but that the role player situation prob needed to be switched up

nets get s pick for just not signing kd outright

Deal will include Golden State sending a protecting future first-round pick to Brooklyn, league sources tell ESPN. https://t.co/BndEZPRblo

warriors jazz nuggets lakers rockets blazers thunder

no clue which of these teams is much better or worse than the rest

if kawhi does end up on the clippers then add them too

ciderpress, Monday, 1 July 2019 16:58 (seven years ago)

so gs effectively gave up two picks for the right to max dangelo out

lag∞n, Monday, 1 July 2019 16:59 (seven years ago)

basically punting on this season then try to do some trades that build around steph-klay, prob all things considered is their best option, but its not a good one, theyre in a tough spot, carrying two big max contracts with majorly depleted depth makes it not very easy

lag∞n, Monday, 1 July 2019 17:05 (seven years ago)

midseason dray trade seems not out of the question

lag∞n, Monday, 1 July 2019 17:06 (seven years ago)

they should trade dray for more guards

ciderpress, Monday, 1 July 2019 17:07 (seven years ago)

get an all guard team then merge with the sixers and move to montreal

lag∞n, Monday, 1 July 2019 17:08 (seven years ago)

i do agree that the nets is a bad name and they would have to change it if they rebranded to new york

they did start off in the ABA under the name New York Nets

mott the hoopleheads (voodoo chili), Monday, 1 July 2019 17:17 (seven years ago)

i feel like the warriors took a look at the west and were like, well damn we could still make the finals this year if we replaced klay. and to their credit i guess they did walk to the finals this year w/o KD, so i could understand why they'd be like "let's get d'angelo russell and see what happens"

J0rdan S., Monday, 1 July 2019 17:18 (seven years ago)

not that i necessarily agree w that logic but i don't think they're punting on this year

J0rdan S., Monday, 1 July 2019 17:18 (seven years ago)

that said steph still one of the best 3-5 players in the nba and draymond is a borderline dominant playoff player so i do think anyone writing the warriors off in this west is selling them short, even if kawhi signs w/ the clips (if he signs w/ the lakers then forget everything i'm saying)

J0rdan S., Monday, 1 July 2019 17:20 (seven years ago)

i think the Warriors are going to bandage themselves up for the season w/Russell and then if they get Klay back for the playoffs they might have a real shot depending on how close to 100% he is.

omar little, Monday, 1 July 2019 17:20 (seven years ago)

team is gonna be even thinner this year tho

lag∞n, Monday, 1 July 2019 17:21 (seven years ago)

i wonder if any picks were involved in that portland trade or what

― J0rdan S., Monday, July 1, 2019 12:50 PM (twenty-eight minutes ago) Bookmark Flag Post Permalink

seems like something should be going portland's way in this trade

call all destroyer, Monday, 1 July 2019 17:22 (seven years ago)

yeah... it's possible the blazers just made the deal to get out of the final years of both harkless & leonard contracts but it seems like an awfully nice deal for the heat.... that said the blazers have always had a weird affinity for old school centers in the oshey era

J0rdan S., Monday, 1 July 2019 17:25 (seven years ago)

yeah i can't account for who/what they can/can't add bcuz their team in relation to the salary cap rn is very confusing to me

J0rdan S., Monday, 1 July 2019 17:25 (seven years ago)

seems like theyre pretty much stuck w minimum guys and the tax payer exemption, not great

lag∞n, Monday, 1 July 2019 17:28 (seven years ago)

steph-dray playing a ton of regular season minutes just to get a playoff spot idk idk, feels like the year all their shenanigans catch up w them

lag∞n, Monday, 1 July 2019 17:30 (seven years ago)

Conspiracy Theory: The Ws worked with D Lo to get him in the S&T on a max because the Wolves couldn't get it worked out.

This buys time and locks him on max deal and the Ws and Timberwolves can work it out in December.

wiggins to warriors confirmed

hollow your fart (m bison), Monday, 1 July 2019 17:31 (seven years ago)

i don't think it needs to be the wolves specifically, the warriors can just be planning to trade russell at some point assuming he plays reasonably well.

call all destroyer, Monday, 1 July 2019 17:31 (seven years ago)

if steph gets injured that team is gonna be badddddddddd

hollow your fart (m bison), Monday, 1 July 2019 17:32 (seven years ago)

they might be bad anyway

lag∞n, Monday, 1 July 2019 17:33 (seven years ago)

that backcourt is gonna get absolutely torched nightly

lag∞n, Monday, 1 July 2019 17:34 (seven years ago)

when klay comes back / how long it takes him to regain form is obvs a huge variable

lag∞n, Monday, 1 July 2019 17:34 (seven years ago)

yea for sure. it was easier to coast on talent bc they had kd and steph and klay and now they have just steph (and dlo who im not even sure is v good)

hollow your fart (m bison), Monday, 1 July 2019 17:35 (seven years ago)

dlo def pretty sus

lmao what if the knicks become a scrappy good underdog team like the nets did last year

hollow your fart (m bison), Monday, 1 July 2019 17:43 (seven years ago)

i don't really understand the point of signing a bunch of not very good players to two year contracts... what "team" are the knicks going to be presenting to the theoretical free agents of 2021?

J0rdan S., Monday, 1 July 2019 17:44 (seven years ago)

knicks just flailing as usual

lag∞n, Monday, 1 July 2019 17:44 (seven years ago)

where tf is nerlens

lag∞n, Monday, 1 July 2019 18:17 (seven years ago)

ah i guess thats pretty reasonable, not really sure what their cap sitch us currently

Enes Kanter is signing a two-year, $10M deal with the Celtics, with a second-year player option, league sources tell @TheAthleticNBA @Stadium.

— Shams Charania (@ShamsCharania) July 1, 2019

lag∞n, Monday, 1 July 2019 18:19 (seven years ago)

mb they can still get nerlens

lag∞n, Monday, 1 July 2019 18:21 (seven years ago)

ah, there was talk of them getting the full MLE but i guess that didnt happen

Kevon Looney was interested in the Celtics according to a source with knowledge of his thinking. But Celtics are limited in the center market with only the room exception available.

i don't really understand the point of signing a bunch of not very good players to two year contracts

The second years are team options, I think.

reggae mike love (polyphonic), Monday, 1 July 2019 18:43 (seven years ago)

kanter has his obvious warts but he seems like someone nice to have around for the playoffs and at that price it's practically free

J0rdan S., Monday, 1 July 2019 18:45 (seven years ago)

The four signings in New York- Bobby Portis, Reggie Bullock, Wayne Ellington and Taj Gibson all have a team option for next year, league sources confirmed to ESPN. New York can develop their young kids, stay competitive and keep flexibility for 2020-21.
