everyone seems really hyped about the Sixers now but idk, I still just don't see it. what did we not just see in the playoffs but the fact that you have to have a guy who can generate buckets? just look at the relative successes and failures in different series of Kawhi, Giannis, Dame, Jimmy, Jamal Murray, and so on. maybe i'm just suffering from recency bias but it seems pretty important!

Evans on Hammond (evol j), Monday, 1 July 2019 13:34 (seven years ago)

sixers are less balanced than last year in the direction that they were already imbalanced

ciderpress, Monday, 1 July 2019 13:47 (seven years ago)

Man I really had bought into the delusion we could ditch Wiggins somehow and get Russell....

I still don't get the deal - what is Brooklyn getting?

The Knicks have reached a deal to sign free agent wing Reggie Bullock to a two-year, $21MM contract, reports Shams Charania of The Athletic (via Twitter).

-- so I guess the prevailing wisdom is now these are all 2 year deals and they are gunning for Giannis when he's a free agent in 2021

Zach Lowe threw out the Hornets making a play for Wiggins in a column a few days ago and honestly i'm so hopeless at this point that it seemed like a decent idea. that's also why i was on board with the idea here of doing a sign-and-trade for Hayward (ugh, not for Rozier though). Charlotte is so destitute at this point that I think their best bet is to just take fliers on guys with pedigree whose stock is really low and hope a change of scenery works some magic.

Harden and Westbrook too. also Embiid, Oladipo and McCollum, though I imagine they all get extended.

you might have heard of this guy kevin durant

k3vin k., Monday, 1 July 2019 14:22 (seven years ago)

This isn't the free agency that New York fans imagined, but Knicks gathering group of serious-minded, professional players: Ellington, Bobby Portis, Taj Gibson and Julius Randle. No stars, but Randle's young and talented. It's a hard-playing, competitive group for David Fizdale. https://t.co/UtU78pwCE8

i wonder who woj is trying to please when he says stuff like this, or if he's actually being serious

J0rdan S., Monday, 1 July 2019 14:48 (seven years ago)

rubbing salt in the wound

mott the hoopleheads (voodoo chili), Monday, 1 July 2019 14:48 (seven years ago)

good thing the knicks signed some professional players to play in the professional basketball league

mott the hoopleheads (voodoo chili), Monday, 1 July 2019 14:48 (seven years ago)

especially when that list includes a dude who jaw-jacked a teammate.

Evans on Hammond (evol j), Monday, 1 July 2019 14:50 (seven years ago)

its true, by definition they are professionals once they sign those contracts

if im being generous, the only contract i laughed at was bobby portis', and the rest are mostly 2-year deals. randle...could be p good in a lead role, but theyre not gonna win games.

xpost but I thought kd already signed as a free agent?

Blues Guitar Solo Heatmap (Free Download) (upper mississippi sh@kedown), Monday, 1 July 2019 15:04 (seven years ago)

yeah but officially its going to be a sign and trade kd signs with the warriors, russell signs with the nets, then they get traded for one another

hollow your fart (m bison), Monday, 1 July 2019 15:07 (seven years ago)

yeah it's a sign and trade

k3vin k., Monday, 1 July 2019 15:10 (seven years ago)

I guess I knew this already but just looking at their history in the post-JVG Knicks era is insane — since he left they’ve had two winning seasons. One of them was 42-40. Reverse Spurs.

none of the contracts are official for a week, teams have time to fiddle around the edges, or kidnap dandre jordan

lag∞n, Monday, 1 July 2019 15:23 (seven years ago)

yet MSG is constantly packed with people still buying overpriced tickets xp

(•̪●) (carne asada), Monday, 1 July 2019 15:23 (seven years ago)

knicks fans are masochists. knicks will only change when ppl migrate to the nets en masse.

hollow your fart (m bison), Monday, 1 July 2019 15:24 (seven years ago)

cld happen soon....... except they just maxed out a guy w/an exploded achilles

this is who the celtics shd get imo

lag∞n, Monday, 1 July 2019 15:27 (seven years ago)

Barclays Center is kinda horrible imo though xp

(•̪●) (carne asada), Monday, 1 July 2019 15:27 (seven years ago)

its exponentially a better experience than MSG

Fuck the NRA (ulysses), Monday, 1 July 2019 15:29 (seven years ago)

no doubt ,it's still going to take a lot to get people to really buy in over there . I hope it does though.

(•̪●) (carne asada), Monday, 1 July 2019 15:30 (seven years ago)

they def do not have a strong fanbase but start fielding some consistently winning teams while the knicks flounder and thatll change

lag∞n, Monday, 1 July 2019 15:32 (seven years ago)

going to arenas (unless you're in a luxury box) pretty much always sucks tbh, getting in and out is a pain in the ass, the layout is an ikea maze, and they gouge you for everything while you're there

Fuck the NRA (ulysses), Monday, 1 July 2019 15:32 (seven years ago)

tho making it a ~brooklyn~ team was kinda dumb imo

lag∞n, Monday, 1 July 2019 15:33 (seven years ago)

why brooklyn is cool

k3vin k., Monday, 1 July 2019 15:33 (seven years ago)

also its literally where they play also more teams should be named for boroughs

hollow your fart (m bison), Monday, 1 July 2019 15:34 (seven years ago)

brooklyn is cool is the world not in new york

lag∞n, Monday, 1 July 2019 15:34 (seven years ago)

the nba is a world sport tho

hollow your fart (m bison), Monday, 1 July 2019 15:35 (seven years ago)

most fans are local to the team why alienate ppl from queens which is 5 miles from where the nets play

lag∞n, Monday, 1 July 2019 15:36 (seven years ago)

or manhattan for that matter which is one mile

lag∞n, Monday, 1 July 2019 15:37 (seven years ago)

i will not tell you how far the bronx and staten are u have to look them up

lag∞n, Monday, 1 July 2019 15:38 (seven years ago)

new york is dumb then

hollow your fart (m bison), Monday, 1 July 2019 15:41 (seven years ago)

wow maybe try to simmer down a bit go to the river walk

lag∞n, Monday, 1 July 2019 15:41 (seven years ago)

i went to a game at barclays and it was by far a better experience than the "td garden"

ciderpress, Monday, 1 July 2019 15:42 (seven years ago)

the riverwalk is a socialist landmark tyvm

hollow your fart (m bison), Monday, 1 July 2019 15:42 (seven years ago)

most of that was due to the seats being comfy and having leg room though

ciderpress, Monday, 1 July 2019 15:43 (seven years ago)

all the arenas are the same plastic and concrete stores to sell u $10 beer who cares

lag∞n, Monday, 1 July 2019 15:43 (seven years ago)

msg is kinda cool for being shitty and olde timey i guess

lag∞n, Monday, 1 July 2019 15:45 (seven years ago)

xxxppp re: bk/ny, im just sayin, the dallas cowboys to my knowledge have never played in dallas and yet every asshole in texas would cut their left dick off for box seats, its crazy

hollow your fart (m bison), Monday, 1 July 2019 15:45 (seven years ago)

yeah theyre not named after some neighborhood in dallas

lag∞n, Monday, 1 July 2019 15:46 (seven years ago)

OAK CLIFF COWBOYS WOULD BE A MUCH BETTER NAME

hollow your fart (m bison), Monday, 1 July 2019 15:47 (seven years ago)

theyre named after city AND the metro region, the name which ppl from the suburbs identify with and so forth

lag∞n, Monday, 1 July 2019 15:48 (seven years ago)

also naming the team brooklyn at the height of brooklyn marketing mania was corny and shortsighted

lag∞n, Monday, 1 July 2019 15:48 (seven years ago)

my point is most ppl from dallas dont actually live in dallas just like most nyers are not from brooklyn but that should be an obstacle to #growingthebrand

hollow your fart (m bison), Monday, 1 July 2019 15:48 (seven years ago)

yes yr argument is not understanding how these names work

lag∞n, Monday, 1 July 2019 15:49 (seven years ago)

SHOULDNT
