yeah. the blazer management are like small stakes poker players who rarely get dealt better than an average hand, but who still manage to walk away with a small pile of chips at the end of the evening. they lose some. they win some. but on average they stay ahead. they aren't the only well-managed small-market team, but the spurs are the only one who have a clearly better track record.

NBA contracts all have a clause about "activities detrimental to the league", and most are likely have the classic "moral turpitude" escape hatch, too. So, at least the Mavericks would be able to free up his salary.
