I agree that Hunter is better than Culver, for sure, and it wouldn’t be ideal for you to wind up with a Jae Crowder-like guy at #4. But the alternative would be to take a flyer on a risky guy like...Cam Reddish, who they got anyway

I guess this is a question of draft day intelligence and how other teams valued him. If they heard someone before 8 or 10 was gonna take Hunter and they really wanted him, it still made some sense to trade up for him
