most ppl seem to have garland going 4, and yeah i like the youth movement, trade jrue too, then youll be bad next year and get more draft picks

lag∞n, Wednesday, 19 June 2019 20:21 (six years ago)

thats the problem. if they believe in someone at that spot then yes but if they arent sure then the pick is worth more in a trade before it becomes an actual person

big city slam (Spottie), Wednesday, 19 June 2019 20:21 (six years ago)

unless u cld get a proven good young player like miles turner i guess

lag∞n, Wednesday, 19 June 2019 20:21 (six years ago)

looks like jarrett culver. kinda think NO should trade down for a big, though. goga bitadze is a guy who' got size and can shoot the 3. with all the new payers they have, they do have this gaping hole at C. if theyre starting lonzo, jrue, ingram, and zion, they need a C.

hollow your fart (m bison), Wednesday, 19 June 2019 20:23 (six years ago)

i like teaming up the youngsters with vets and being competitive. jrues contract is good and they could learn a ton from him.

big city slam (Spottie), Wednesday, 19 June 2019 20:24 (six years ago)

they have two expiring contracts they can use as trade bait at the deadline or to match salaries if they need with soloman hill and etwan moore

big city slam (Spottie), Wednesday, 19 June 2019 20:25 (six years ago)

wonder if steven adams is on the block

big city slam (Spottie), Wednesday, 19 June 2019 20:26 (six years ago)

prolly gonna try league pass next year; likely with NBA JAM mode on
http://fortune.com/2019/06/10/we-got-a-preview-of-what-nbas-league-pass-may-look-like-next-season/

In “Player Mode,” viewers will see the scoring probabilities for each player in real time. So, when Golden State Warriors shooters Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson appear on the screen, small graphics pop up with their chances of making those same shots in real time.

The “Coach Mode” supposedly makes viewers feel like a coach, providing on-court Xs-and-Os strategy, such as if an offense running a pick-and-roll to get a good shot would be effective against a box-and-1 defense.

And, “Mascot Mode” is precisely what it is, offering more of a fun and light-hearted broadcast of the game mostly targeting kids. This could include animated comic book-like graphics, including a fire on a basket when a team is on a scorching scoring spree, or a 3D on-screen brick when a team shoots horribly.

Oklahoma City has increased its efforts this afternoon to shed salary along with the No. 21 pick en route to dodging luxury tax, league sources say. Steven Adams, Andre Roberson, Dennis Schroeder all very available at the moment.

hah that's kinda neat, I might have to try it out

frogbs, Wednesday, 19 June 2019 20:28 (six years ago)

if you haven't clicked through on that fortune story, you should; there are links video samples of the different modes

so i guess the thunder are just punting? adams and schroder were their 3rd/4th best players last season. they are screwed

big city slam (Spottie), Wednesday, 19 June 2019 20:32 (six years ago)

yeah, i think ownership there is like we'll be ok but we dont wanna pay luxury tax for ok. theyll sell off large contracts to get their fiancial house in order and try to put some bargain contracts around PG13 and RW. p sure if you told that to PG13 last year he doesnt sign a long-term deal with them.

hollow your fart (m bison), Wednesday, 19 June 2019 20:35 (six years ago)

i watched some of those different viewing things last season. I like the ideas better than the execution so far but i like that they are trying new things. Something like the mascot one geared towards kids is pretty intriguing as i cant get my kids to watch more than a few minutes at a time.

big city slam (Spottie), Wednesday, 19 June 2019 20:36 (six years ago)

yeah wonder what PG and Russ are thinking. Adams is such a big part of what they do.

big city slam (Spottie), Wednesday, 19 June 2019 20:38 (six years ago)

as i have stated before i wld like steven adams to be on the celtics

lag∞n, Wednesday, 19 June 2019 20:47 (six years ago)

boston, NOLA, portland all interesting possible landing spots

hollow your fart (m bison), Wednesday, 19 June 2019 20:54 (six years ago)

hes only 25 seems like a 15 year vet at this point

big city slam (Spottie), Wednesday, 19 June 2019 20:57 (six years ago)

yeah that's a guy yiou "want on your team"

ciderpress, Wednesday, 19 June 2019 20:57 (six years ago)

still think he can average like 15 rebounds a game away from russ

big city slam (Spottie), Wednesday, 19 June 2019 21:00 (six years ago)

cld score more too just off getting dunks in the pnr

lag∞n, Wednesday, 19 June 2019 21:05 (six years ago)

dame/adams p-n-r would be p rowdy

hollow your fart (m bison), Wednesday, 19 June 2019 21:06 (six years ago)

not sure he fits w/ nurk but also not sure nurk is playing this year. all pdx has to give up is a buncha awful expiring deals which no one cares about that anymore

Clay, Wednesday, 19 June 2019 21:10 (six years ago)

aw yeah forgot about nurk

hollow your fart (m bison), Wednesday, 19 June 2019 21:25 (six years ago)

Problem with Adams is he’s overpaid, 22nd highest salary in the league next year as of right now. Obviously he’ll fall in those rankings after free agency but honestly he shouldn’t be in the top 50 probably

Evans on Hammond (evol j), Thursday, 20 June 2019 02:10 (six years ago)

i dunno he's pretty good

ciderpress, Thursday, 20 June 2019 02:13 (six years ago)

i'd be wary if the thunder are really open to moving him. he already seems like someone who is going to have a short career.

call all destroyer, Thursday, 20 June 2019 02:24 (six years ago)

why? he's been v v healthy (he's only missed 25 games in SIX YEARS) and he's only 25! he's a stout defender who inhales rebounds (his numbers are artificially low since he's deferring so many to russ) and is a crazy efficient scorer. that contract is def rich, but it's only two years left on it then you've got his bird rights at age 27. celtics were gonna pay more than that for al horford who is similarly productive and is 33.

hollow your fart (m bison), Thursday, 20 June 2019 02:32 (six years ago)

yeah

lag∞n, Thursday, 20 June 2019 02:57 (six years ago)

thunder r just trying to get under the cap

lag∞n, Thursday, 20 June 2019 02:57 (six years ago)

I think Horford is way way better than Adams but point taken about their ages

Evans on Hammond (evol j), Thursday, 20 June 2019 03:05 (six years ago)

yeah

lag∞n, Thursday, 20 June 2019 03:05 (six years ago)

i think adams will be better over their respective next contracts

ciderpress, Thursday, 20 June 2019 03:06 (six years ago)

possible

lag∞n, Thursday, 20 June 2019 03:06 (six years ago)

or the rest of his contract vs horford's next i mean

ciderpress, Thursday, 20 June 2019 03:07 (six years ago)

yeah, thats what i was getting at. horf is a more versatile defender, but will he be at age 36 or 37?

hollow your fart (m bison), Thursday, 20 June 2019 03:31 (six years ago)

The lakers just keep delivering the goods

The Lakers reportedly didn’t fully understand the cap ramifications of the Anthony Davis trade until after their initial talks with the Pelicans. https://t.co/4Kiykq1yrL pic.twitter.com/IZaEDatnLN

Also I’m just posting any and all juice don’t even care who’s reporting it this point

Brooklyn might have doubts about signing Kyrie Irving if he isn't bringing KD with him, per @NYPost_Lewis pic.twitter.com/NWzQfZbdeZ

big city slam (Spottie), Thursday, 20 June 2019 03:44 (six years ago)

i just have a feeling about adams. he makes me nervous.

call all destroyer, Thursday, 20 June 2019 03:48 (six years ago)

and xp it was extremely obvious that the lakers didn't understand the cap when they agreed to the reported version of the davis trade. rob pelinka is an idiot.

call all destroyer, Thursday, 20 June 2019 03:51 (six years ago)

How has he kept his job idgi

big city slam (Spottie), Thursday, 20 June 2019 03:57 (six years ago)

amazing there are like 50 million amateur cap experts online and yet the gm of the nbas most famous franchise has no idea

lag∞n, Thursday, 20 June 2019 03:58 (six years ago)

Seriously just drop like 10k for one of those twitter nerds to consult with you for a few weeks lol

big city slam (Spottie), Thursday, 20 June 2019 04:01 (six years ago)

i forget what pod i was listening to but it was saying that the lakers have cap experts on staff and pelinka probably just never checked with them.

call all destroyer, Thursday, 20 June 2019 10:37 (six years ago)

as y'all were discussing above, really interested to see what NOP does with the #4. I think this draft is a crapshoot after Zion and maybe Morant so I'd rather have just about any really good established player assuming he doesn't cost a ton. I really don't understand why everyone is suddenly excited about this Darius Garland kid. maybe he'll be great but he played like four games in college and he was the #16 recruit in his class coming out of high school:

http://www.espn.com/college-sports/basketball/recruiting/playerrankings/_/class/2018/order/true

I've heard people point out that Kyrie only played a handful of college games too, but he was a much more highly touted recruit. not sure what I'm missing here, I guess he crushed the combine or something.

Evans on Hammond (evol j), Thursday, 20 June 2019 12:50 (six years ago)

haha this shit doesn't surprise me in the least! Palinka is a disaster

(•̪●) (carne asada), Thursday, 20 June 2019 13:04 (six years ago)

garland was a five-star recruit, number 2 PG in his class (behind Tre Jones). Kyrie was the #1 overall player, but still, Garland was a hugely hyped recruit.

old cloud yells at man (voodoo chili), Thursday, 20 June 2019 14:47 (six years ago)

my point was that he was #16 in his class, played 4-5 games of competitive basketball, and now he seems to be trending towards being the consensus #4. like, Coby White made a similar leap, but at least he balled out for an entire season.

Evans on Hammond (evol j), Thursday, 20 June 2019 14:51 (six years ago)
