i think they're more likely to target a vet/all-star with that #4. their trade demands were current all-star, potential future all-star, and two first rounders.

rn theyre starting 5 looks like:

lonzo-jrue-zion-BI-??

spurs might dangle aldridge for #4

hollow your fart (m bison), Sunday, 16 June 2019 01:24 (seven years ago)

seems possible that the Knicks could end up with nothing from free agency which would be hilarious

Blues Guitar Solo Heatmap (Free Download) (upper mississippi sh@kedown), Sunday, 16 June 2019 01:48 (seven years ago)

xp lol *their

and yeah knicks are looking at a big swing and a miss. like maybe theyll panic and throw a max deal at kd and maybe kd will take it, but i cant see any other free agent combo coming through.

hollow your fart (m bison), Sunday, 16 June 2019 02:20 (seven years ago)

it will be very interesting to see what will happen in the 2019-2020 nba regular season -- not to mention the playoffs

LOS ANGELES -- Not long after learning his son Lonzo Ball will be part of a blockbuster trade for Anthony Davis, LaVar Ball made his thoughts clear on what he felt the Los Angeles Lakers had just agreed to do.

"I guarantee: Like I say again, it will be the worst move the Lakers ever did in their life and they will never win another championship," LaVar Ball said when asked by ESPN for his first reaction to the trade while at the Drew League to watch his son LaMelo play. "Guarantee it."

the curse!

Fuck the NRA (ulysses), Sunday, 16 June 2019 02:54 (seven years ago)

The Pelicans will get the following picks from the Lakers, league sources tell ESPN:

No. 4 pick in 2019
Top-8 protected in 2021, becomes unprotected in ‘22
Unprotected swap in ‘23
Unprotected first in ‘24
Unprotected swap in ‘25

Tremendous haul for David Griffin & the Pelicans.

lag∞n, Sunday, 16 June 2019 03:06 (seven years ago)

apparently there some pick deferments so if pelicans dont like the pick they get in '24 they can wait until '26

hollow your fart (m bison), Sunday, 16 June 2019 03:07 (seven years ago)

i think i like this deal for both teams, next they shd trade lebron

lag∞n, Sunday, 16 June 2019 03:07 (seven years ago)

this is making me so mad bc the spurs got such a shitty return for kawhi and this kind of return only happens bc ppl saw how valuable one year of a superstar can be boo hoo hoo

hollow your fart (m bison), Sunday, 16 June 2019 03:08 (seven years ago)

well Davis is gonna stay in LA is the thing

Clay, Sunday, 16 June 2019 03:09 (seven years ago)

ya

lag∞n, Sunday, 16 June 2019 03:10 (seven years ago)

that is true

hollow your fart (m bison), Sunday, 16 June 2019 03:11 (seven years ago)

one thing the lakers arent accounting for is the possibility that zion will dunk on bron and explode him into many small pieces, hard to come back from that

lag∞n, Sunday, 16 June 2019 03:21 (seven years ago)

of course, that may not happen until zion's second year in the league

A is for (Aimless), Sunday, 16 June 2019 03:25 (seven years ago)

yeah need to see some projections

lag∞n, Sunday, 16 June 2019 03:27 (seven years ago)

Great trade Rob Pelinka! Job well done.

Also bison no one really knew if kawhi was good any more cos the weird injury plus weird energy around the whole thing

big city slam (Spottie), Sunday, 16 June 2019 05:01 (seven years ago)

straight up smacking cops

lag∞n, Sunday, 16 June 2019 05:17 (seven years ago)

Oh man remember when
Klay did the big balls dance :(

big city slam (Spottie), Sunday, 16 June 2019 05:17 (seven years ago)

um so apparently woj and/or bobby marks is saying on tv that the way this is structured the lakers will only have $23M in space on july 1?

call all destroyer, Sunday, 16 June 2019 15:56 (seven years ago)

i guess they can get to $32M on july 30. they'd have to make a promise and hope that someone is willing to wait. i don't remember this type of timing issue with past trades tbh.

call all destroyer, Sunday, 16 June 2019 16:07 (seven years ago)

its bc of the cap value of the no 4 pick iirc, its a p good sized salary

hollow your fart (m bison), Sunday, 16 June 2019 17:09 (seven years ago)

ah that makes more sense, thanking u

call all destroyer, Sunday, 16 June 2019 17:24 (seven years ago)

yeah the way woj is reporting this the lakers are not gonna have a max slot salary. they might be better off using that space to sign some high level role players (3 and D wings, point guards).

hollow your fart (m bison), Sunday, 16 June 2019 17:28 (seven years ago)

i have absolutely zero confidence that they will identify the right players and sign them to appropriate contracts, so sign me up.

call all destroyer, Sunday, 16 June 2019 17:40 (seven years ago)

ha was thinking the same

lag∞n, Sunday, 16 June 2019 17:42 (seven years ago)

feel like lakers are walking a tighter rope than the warriors this past year. they seem committed to a 3-star team and idk who they can afford on min contracts. melo, pau, ty chandler? is smush parker still in the league?

hollow your fart (m bison), Sunday, 16 June 2019 17:48 (seven years ago)

I'm in no hurry to see the Lakers figure things out. They don't need a 3-star team, but I'm fine if they want to fixate on that and fill out their roster with second-stringers, broken vets and call ups from G League.

A is for (Aimless), Sunday, 16 June 2019 18:00 (seven years ago)

Warriors had 4 Allstar level dudes plus iggy and 55% boog. Lakers have a ton of work to do. Lebro is 35 this year and brow hasn’t proven he can log a full season of games which they are going to need. I think theiir best bet is to add a third all star but would love to see Pelinka take a swing at filling the cap space with randoms again lol.

big city slam (Spottie), Sunday, 16 June 2019 18:08 (seven years ago)

The Warriors arrived at that roster partly through excellent team management and player development, partly through blindingly good luck. By signing Curry to his second contract when his ankles were still a big question mark, they got a break-out GOAT at bargain basement rates. Not going to happen again any time soon.

im in too deep on hoops twitter

hollow your fart (m bison), Sunday, 16 June 2019 18:20 (seven years ago)

Can they even afford him cap-wise?

Van Horn Street, Sunday, 16 June 2019 22:13 (seven years ago)

No unless he takes less. The other LA team makes so much more sense

big city slam (Spottie), Sunday, 16 June 2019 22:34 (seven years ago)

from what i can glean, i think there is a way if they delay the official trade until the end of july. the problem is with that no. 4 pick and idk if new orleans has to do what lakers want. im not clear but i think the lakers are assuming they can still make a full max slot with this delay.

hollow your fart (m bison), Sunday, 16 June 2019 22:55 (seven years ago)

yeah if new orleans wants to trade that pick i don’t think they could wait, also new orleans has no reason to do the lakers any favors now that the trade is public.

call all destroyer, Sunday, 16 June 2019 23:38 (seven years ago)

true, but maybe lal only does the deal with all the picks/swaps provided NOP comes through on the timing.

hollow your fart (m bison), Sunday, 16 June 2019 23:40 (seven years ago)

in any case, it pisses me off because Lebron/AD on any other team than the Lakers would be my favorite non-baseball thing to watch in sports. But it is the Lakers.

Van Horn Street, Monday, 17 June 2019 03:02 (seven years ago)

Truly, it's a sad and beautiful world.

what's good ?

if he liked the raptors culture/team structure and wants to get out of canada, the clippers seem to be a good option

old cloud yells at man (voodoo chili), Monday, 17 June 2019 14:29 (seven years ago)

idk what kawhi has to gain with being on a team with AD and bron, especially considering his unrefined playmaking--he kinda needs the ball, and it's a waste to just turn him into the greatest 3&D wing of all time

old cloud yells at man (voodoo chili), Monday, 17 June 2019 14:30 (seven years ago)

I think they're gonna get Kemba. in which case, holy gravy, the Hornets aren't gonna win 20 games next season.

Evans on Hammond (evol j), Monday, 17 June 2019 14:37 (seven years ago)

hornets are in a terrible spot bc if they dont offer him the supermax they will be terrible for a while but if they do and keep him they will be mediocre for a while
