normally i would say that if the game was 10 minutes longer the raptors would have it but they are inept rn

How do they not foul there? Everyone on the court besides Steph was an average to poor FT shooter I think

That 3rd quarter sank the Raptors, I don't think they are out yet.
― Van Horn Street, Monday, 3 June 2019 02:48 (seven years ago)
Raps def could’ve won this one

basically the only thing that matters now is what warriors are available for game 3

You have to really hate the warriors to not be able to appreciate that win

paul pierce is so bad at this. is "star power" really that important, like zach lowe can't be out there?
― k3vin k., Monday, 3 June 2019 02:58 (seven years ago)
i mean zach lowe is not fun to watch but neither is pierce

this game is just testament to that old basketball adage, "its hard to win when you give up an 18-0 run"

― be the 2 chainz you want 2 see in the world (m bison), Monday, 3 June 2019 03:25 (seven years ago)
You could see that coming a mile away, when--after missing a 3-pointer that would have put Toronto up by 14--they ended the half only 5 up. Nothing's been easy during this run, so I suppose the Raptors could still win a long series, especially with GS hurting so much. But if you can't win a game where Curry doesn't score until the second quarter and seemingly every GS player of consequence except Green is hurting, that's bad.

Thoughts on the tech on curry at the end?
― easy ball shooter (Spottie), Monday, 3 June 2019 04:11 (seven years ago)
Was that called on Steph? I thought it was on Boogie for the scream. Also, gotta admit, boogie was a difference maker in the game.
― Fetchboy, Monday, 3 June 2019 04:13 (seven years ago)
Boogie figured it out out of necessity. His passing was huge. Yah they called that tech ok curry for throwin the ball up high (which he does all the time )
― easy ball shooter (Spottie), Monday, 3 June 2019 04:15 (seven years ago)
I dunno. I noticed a pretty lame delay-of-game warning against him where he was running back on defense and the ball bounced into his feet from behind. Maybe the ref that called the T thought he had already warned him about dead ball stuff?
― Fetchboy, Monday, 3 June 2019 04:38 (seven years ago)
i think the thing nobody was able to see coming regarding boogie is that for all his faults the way he likes to play offensively fits really well into the warriors' no durant system of heavy ball movement. w/ KD around he felt crudely welded onto the team but tonight he fit into the context of their offense in a way that i don't think anybody thought was possible
― J0rdan S., Monday, 3 June 2019 07:01 (seven years ago)
i feel like boogie showed in that game the potential to be like a joakim noah in his final few years w/ the bulls type offensive player. he prob never regains the athleticism to score like he did pre achilles injury but maybe you could run offense thru him in the high post in a way that utilizes his passing ability.

seems like siakam's confidence still comes and goes in these big games. when he sees one or two go in he's a different player.
Siakam in a nutshell. If he misses a couple of early ones like he did last night, he disappears. He still rebounds and plays good defense, but he starts passing up one clear shot after another, and he stops driving like he did in game 1. He's not one to do what Curry did last night, get off to a slow start and then completely turn it around.
― clemenza, Monday, 3 June 2019 18:09 (seven years ago)
he was noticeably less aggressive from the very start
― lag∞n, Monday, 3 June 2019 18:58 (seven years ago)
I think he missed an open three in the first couple of minutes, and that's when he gets gun-shy.

Andre hhaaaaa
In Portland, before Game 4 of the Western Conference finals, Iguodala was asked about speculation that he would indeed make the Hall of Fame. “I don’t care,” he said. Really? Some players get emotional during those ceremonial speeches. “None of it matters,” he replied. “Does anyone remember any of those speeches other than Jordan’s?”Then Iguodala broke it down. “See, here’s how it works. One day, you’re replaced. Then it’s some other motherfucker in there. And then there’s another motherfucker. And another after that. Nobody remembers anything. None of it matters!”

When asked what motivates him to keep going through the pain, Iguodala offered another reason for his perseverance: “I like Steph,” he said. “He’s a good dude, good guy to be around. That’s really the only reason why I like playing basketball. That’s the only reason why I play.”When asked if he’s motivated by protecting Curry’s legacy, Iguodala replies, “Yeah. I’ve never seen it in a person, such a good person ever get some backlash or whatever from his peers because they’re so jealous of what he has, so, just kind of sticking it to them. Whatever it takes to protect his legacy, I’m all for it.”

He’s been their best center for the playoffs. Now we really need boogie to be at least as good as he was in the 2nd half yesterday. Also will lean on bogut more who was solid last night.
