The Lakers did not know what they were buying when they signed LeBron. They thought they were just signing another future Hall of Famer who'd drag the franchise back into title contention, not a guy who insists he should run the whole franchise.

They're probably doing worse on their own than James could do on his own. This is not a full-throated endorsement of LeBron's GM abilities.
