call all destroyer, Monday, 29 April 2019 21:05 (seven years ago)

theres one guy who used to be on the spurs

lag∞n, Monday, 29 April 2019 21:06 (seven years ago)

one day we will find out what really happened w kawhi. truly one of the weirdest nba things to happen over the last 20 years.

but I can't let Trae do it I got Huerter on my mind (Spottie), Monday, 29 April 2019 21:14 (seven years ago)

Charted the openness of BOS's catch and shoot jumpers in Game 1 (by shooter). A huge takeaway is the shots that were open were REALLY open -- usually not a defender within at least 8-10 feet of the shooter. This is the part of MILs defensive scheme that continues to baffle me pic.twitter.com/ICn2c8MOn8

wow did not expect tony parker to be in there.

but I can't let Trae do it I got Huerter on my mind (Spottie), Tuesday, 30 April 2019 23:06 (seven years ago)

yeah wld not have figured that, he played a ton of playoff games

lag∞n, Tuesday, 30 April 2019 23:07 (seven years ago)

wade bumping bird out of the top ten at the last second was rude imo

lag∞n, Tuesday, 30 April 2019 23:08 (seven years ago)

watching jordan climb up top in like 2 seconds was outstanding

some of these ideas are wild but widening the court to 54 feet and making the arc universal seems like it needs to happen

but I can't let Trae do it I got Huerter on my mind (Spottie), Friday, 3 May 2019 23:20 (seven years ago)

they shd move back a couple feet too imo

lag∞n, Friday, 3 May 2019 23:38 (seven years ago)

imo widening the court and/or moving the line back would encourage a 3s & dunks offense

players would adjust to shoot from further out and then there would be less help in the middle

micah, Saturday, 4 May 2019 00:05 (seven years ago)

whether that is good or bad is a preference

micah, Saturday, 4 May 2019 00:06 (seven years ago)

i dont think u can just adjust to shoot from further out i mean its harder

lag∞n, Saturday, 4 May 2019 00:06 (seven years ago)

players getting better at shooting has been a consistent trend, it might take a few years sure

micah, Saturday, 4 May 2019 00:08 (seven years ago)

it would also increase the value of (perhaps one dimensional) long range shooters

micah, Saturday, 4 May 2019 00:09 (seven years ago)

u cant just get infinitely good at shooting from whereever

lag∞n, Saturday, 4 May 2019 00:10 (seven years ago)

yes that is a true fact

micah, Saturday, 4 May 2019 00:11 (seven years ago)

just making the 3 point line uniform and widening the court a bit would be a good first step. would drop the overall 3point % and change gameplay a bit. worth a shot for somewhere to start without changing TOO much.

but I can't let Trae do it I got Huerter on my mind (Spottie), Saturday, 4 May 2019 00:12 (seven years ago)

do you have a preferred gameplay style in mind?

micah, Saturday, 4 May 2019 00:13 (seven years ago)

i like this era of pace and space but it's a bit out of hand and not showing much signs of plateauing. basically i just think the rockets have kind of taken it to it's end/extreme and it doesnt look pretty to my eyes.

but I can't let Trae do it I got Huerter on my mind (Spottie), Saturday, 4 May 2019 00:20 (seven years ago)

personally i would find the rockets much more palatable if hardens antics were deducted. as a team they make the most of their talents and its hard to fault them for it

micah, Saturday, 4 May 2019 00:29 (seven years ago)

i reject the premise that the 3 is too easy or common. what people actually dislike is ugly offense.

call all destroyer, Saturday, 4 May 2019 03:10 (seven years ago)

the convo between zach lowe & kirk g on zach’s pod was interesting... zach & SVG also had an interesting convo about this subject

J0rdan S., Saturday, 4 May 2019 07:10 (seven years ago)

SVG made an interesting argument about how what isn’t fun is seeing guys just shooting so many stand still 3s per game bcuz it robs the game of amazing feats of athleticism. not sure i buy it given that the NBA is more demanding on a play to play basis than ever and the collective athleticism of the league is a big part of that but i’ve found myself considering it. personally i just think they need to move the line back... the plays i rly don’t like are like i.e. game 2 of celts/bucks when the entire game flipped bcuz khris middleton was dribbling the ball for 6 seconds and then pulling up and making contested threes. the whole thing felt random and cheap and not fun to watch.

the most interesting bit about the kirk & zach convo was when they were talking about how traditionally the league has always tweaked rules to make the game easier for smaller players but now finally it needs to be balanced back out to make it easier for the bigs

J0rdan S., Saturday, 4 May 2019 07:15 (seven years ago)

I’m pretty sure this would have happened if not for basic logistical issues

kawhis on a historic heater

Kawhi Leonard is on pace to be the first player with at least a 30 usage rate, a 67 TS% and play at least 30 minutes per game over a postseason. He’s crushing those numbers at 70.4 TS% and a 33.1 usage rate, too. https://t.co/0WAwPbNnT6

saw this in an nyt story about the shitshow Lakers, but this is LeBron in a "disaster" year

But in the 55 games that James did play this season, he was pretty good. He averaged 27.4 points, 8.5 rebounds and 8.3 assists a game while shooting 51 percent from the field.

lakers wldve made the playoffs if they had stayed at all healthy, and prob lost in the first round, they were 3rd in the west at one point iirc

lag∞n, Monday, 13 May 2019 02:54 (seven years ago)

Beyond health the trade rumors really screwed them. Lebrons standard numbers were good but his defense was suspect all season long.

but I can't let Trae do it I got Huerter on my mind (Spottie), Monday, 13 May 2019 03:02 (seven years ago)

its true lebron attempting to trade every one of his teammates may have soured them on being his teammate
