Well they def weren't invincible, they really went against some all timer teams. the Knicks, Suns, Pacers, Sonics, Blazers, Jazz, Lakers...those were all title worthy squads. It's crazy that the Jordan teams never lost (the retirement comeback aside.)

yeah its pretty similar to Tom Brady's thing like yeah they were very often the best team and they beat a lot of Super Bowl contenders but arguably more important than talent was the fact that they got calls when they needed them and always won the OT coin tosses, basically a lot of 50/50 stuff went their way, you could argue that was true of the Bulls sometimes too

bulls kind of were invincible imho, i mean the 96 bulls definitely were, think they got taken to seven games once during their championship era, and all throughout that time, and this is something i think about re the lebron v jordan debate, theyd have a game where they were down say eight with ten minutes left and youd look at that and youd say the bulls are winning this game, and they almost always would

Yeah that's true I was just going to say that the key difference between Jordan and LeBron is that for awhile it felt like Jordan's team was always going to win whereas with a Lebron team you always assume they were going to lose, maybe a couple of those Miami squads excepted.

Jordan never had to face the buzzsaw of those insane GSW teams though, had that Curry loophole not happened maybe things turn out way differently

but yeah clutch time is the big thing, Jordan had it, Kobe had it, Lebron doesn't, idk how much of this is killer mentality and how much is just running hot at the best possible times

jordan faced some really good teams i mean sure none of them were alltimers but theres usually not two alltimers around at the same time anyway, the warriors were the bulls and the cavs were jazz, difference being i guess is its utah with a goat candidate and the bulls with not a goat candidate lol lets not examine this too closely

i think bron was pretty good in crunch time i certainly didnt assume he was gonna lose unless he was just playing a better team like the dubs, its just prime bulls absolutely killed crunch time, basically the definition of flipping the switch, the fourth quarter would start jordan would move to point guard and him and pippen would start pressuring the ball on defense and the bulls would win, i think he just had a higher level than anyone else, which is why hes the goat

kobe has the worst crunch time shooting % of anyone to take x number of shots iirc, which makes sense since hed just take highly contested iso jumpers every time

yea I know in the regular season Kobe bricked a lot of big shots at the end but when the Lakers were making those title runs he seemed to be really clutch, may be misremembering things though

yeah easy to remember the times he shot them into it and forget the times he shot them out rose tinted glasses and so forth, tho on the other hand he have five rings so it couldnt have been that bad

primarily I remember him trying those shots against the Bucks and never hitting them but drawing the foul despite barely getting touched

I don't know I feel like a lot of those teams the bulls faced were in fact possibly legendary squads that happened to run into the best team of all time. They were some frightening teams, I don't ever remember feeling worried about the bulls but the only reason I felt that way is because they didn't seem like a squad that would make nearly as many mistakes. And certainly not fatal ones. I think if the bulls were more mistake prone, the teams they faced were more than capable of knocking them out. And it seemed like as the years went on the teams got tougher but maybe the bulls just got older..

Actually to the point about the warriors, that's what made the warriors dynasty special as well is they were the big dog everyone expected to come out on top. They were never just another team that had a decent shot.

I really would have loved to have seen a finals matchup between the bulls and rockets. Probably the biggest missed matchup opportunity of the 90s.

ya thats true and even those miami teams lost two out of four, tho tbf they did make the finals all four which is not bad, and then the superteam sitch limited their longevity which makes it seem more like a blip than a run

Miami probably should've won it in their first year, iirc Game 2 they were up like 15 with a few minutes to play and Dirk wound up playing some of the most insane ball I've ever seen, had they threepeated the conversation would be a lot different. but then again if Ray Allen misses that 3 in Game 6 maybe the Heat only onepeat. idk just saying so much of all-time greatness seems to hinge on what breaks you do or dont get
