k3vin k., Tuesday, 19 March 2019 01:51 (seven years ago)

you know who deserves sitewide mod privileges? (m bison), Tuesday, 19 March 2019 02:28 (seven years ago)

golden state and denver now tied for first in the west. I really would just love to dodge the rockets or jazz for as deep in the offs as possible

k3vin k., Tuesday, 19 March 2019 02:29 (seven years ago)

Spurs are ridiculous right now. I had figured the streak would end tonight. props to Pop for turning this team around.

omar little, Tuesday, 19 March 2019 03:03 (seven years ago)

gotta tip the cap to demar for that shot over klay

but I can't let Trae do it I got Huerter on my mind (Spottie), Tuesday, 19 March 2019 03:04 (seven years ago)

reasons why spurs are good now:
(1) i rly feel like cutting pau was addition by subtraction. he wasnt getting a lot of minutes anyway, but it has boosted jakob poeltl's play since he's been added to the starting lineup. i was initially skeptical of a trad two-big lineup, but they have made it work on offense by stretching LA to the 3 pt line where he satarted to hit a couple. and defensively, poeltl and LA are juuuust agile enough against most starting units that they can make it work against opposing frontcourts.
(2) demar was in a baaaaad slump in january. he got some time to rest and it's paid off big time. he's been cutting to the basket a lot more which is getting him to the FT line. when he cuts, he gets passes to open outside shooters. he's hitting some tough midrange shots again, too, and he's become a decent enough defender! no one will mistake him for 2017 kawhi, but he gets in passing lanes and creates fastbreaks off steals.
(4) their core 9 guys are all finally healthy. this is white-forbes-derozan-aldridge-poeltl starting and mills, belinelli, bertans, and gay off the bench. gay has been able to pick apart second units off the bench instead of getting third option scraps as the starting PF.
(5) derrick fuckin white.

(3) pop

k3vin k., Tuesday, 19 March 2019 03:11 (seven years ago)

clinched 22nd consecutive winning season, seems like it’ll be 22 in a row for the playoffs too.

omar little, Tuesday, 19 March 2019 03:36 (seven years ago)

yeah the 8 teams are set, seeding of 3-7 could change wildly tho

k3vin k., Tuesday, 19 March 2019 03:39 (seven years ago)

my god that trade with the lakers was such a heist

J0rdan S., Wednesday, 20 March 2019 04:28 (seven years ago)

other than getting lebron, feel like you can make the case that the lakers have been one of the worst franchises in the league for like the last 6 years

you know who deserves sitewide mod privileges? (m bison), Wednesday, 20 March 2019 04:29 (seven years ago)

fox was roasting him at the other end but russell was getting to the rim with like 3 guys on him

kuzma was a good pick. that's basically all you can say for them right now.

J0rdan S., Wednesday, 20 March 2019 04:31 (seven years ago)

Knciks and lakers been the two worst teams of the last 6 years I think

magic and suns both have a brighter future (as of now)

imo knox and robinson may individually end up more valuable than any of ball kuzma ingram

micah, Wednesday, 20 March 2019 06:13 (seven years ago)

robinson is a freak shot blocker. i havent watched enough knicks to make a read on knox yet.

but I can't let Trae do it I got Huerter on my mind (Spottie), Wednesday, 20 March 2019 06:27 (seven years ago)

This Lakers team remains really weird to me. I’ve been here long enough to remember the sheer excitement over the Shaq Lakers and the rabid fandom that accompanied the less likeable but fun Kobe solo Lakers, and here they got LeBron and there isn’t this sense of a bad season before the next glorious run, it seems to me that everyone recognizes LeBron is too old for there to be much hope for the immediate future, plus again as I said before I just don’t think his takeover of the team has been appreciated.

Of course the D’Angelo trade was before he arrived, can’t pin that on him. But it’s pretty symbolic of the era.

omar little, Wednesday, 20 March 2019 16:20 (seven years ago)

theyve made so many bad moves lol

i mean fox-russell-ingram-kuzma-zubac*randle wld be a fun young team w room to grow

but tbqh idk if the lakers fanbase is even capable of appreciating a team like that, aging bron w a dumb ass roster is really their karma if u think about it

lag∞n, Wednesday, 20 March 2019 16:47 (seven years ago)

the clips must be loving it tbh.

omar little, Wednesday, 20 March 2019 16:50 (seven years ago)

there was an article last week about zubac and how the clippers are like whoa lakers thanks for this guy he's good we didnt really know he was this good!

watched the clippers last night and i think they are my fav team in the league to watch at the moment.

but I can't let Trae do it I got Huerter on my mind (Spottie), Wednesday, 20 March 2019 16:57 (seven years ago)

yeah theyre playing really good basketball

bucks getting banged up at the wrong time

Bucks forward Nikola Mirotic has suffered a slight fracture of his left thumb and will miss at least two-to-four weeks, league sources tell @TheAthleticNBA @Stadium.

they should get him and brogdon back somewhere around the first round. but yea not great cos that roster needed time to adjust to mirotic addition.

but I can't let Trae do it I got Huerter on my mind (Spottie), Wednesday, 20 March 2019 17:38 (seven years ago)

gotta say i’m not counting on brogdon coming back into a playoff series with a foot injury and being much of a positive.
