last season I thought Zach struggled to get easy, high % buckets but now he does a great job of getting to the rim, mixing it up w long & mid range. guess he was prob figuring out how to score in a new system plus maybe getting his quickness back.

getting healthy was key for sure

joylessness def the wave of the future

Clay, Thursday, 7 March 2019 18:53 (seven years ago)

watched the kings closely for the first time last night & they're pretty cool. not sure where they're gonna find the #1 guy they're missing but they can def become a playoff team with this core

ciderpress, Thursday, 7 March 2019 19:00 (seven years ago)

I'm not a national basketball talking head or anything...

...but I thought Lebron rolling the ball down the court then losing it instantly was way worse of a thing to do than Rondo sitting way down on the bench

Blues Guitar Solo Heatmap (Free Download) (upper mississippi sh@kedown), Thursday, 7 March 2019 19:08 (seven years ago)

Joe Pos with a pretty hot (but accurate) take: LeBron's final years are gonna be wasted in LA. no one cared that he passed Jordan on the all-time scoring list. he might as well have stayed in Cleveland.

frogbs, Thursday, 7 March 2019 19:09 (seven years ago)

Re: "The Shop" on HBO: Does anyone get haircuts on that thing other than Lebron? All these dudes were sitting there while Lebron was getting a touch up. So weird

I'm back to hating LBJ lol

A True White Kid that can Jump (Granny Dainger), Thursday, 7 March 2019 19:12 (seven years ago)

lebron’s binary yoyoing between hero and heel is unprecedented in modern sports I feel like except for like classic wwe shit and that was scripted obv

I honestly gasped when I saw it. it was so, so careless in a game they absolutely needed to win

k3vin k., Thursday, 7 March 2019 19:18 (seven years ago)

down 13 with 2 minutes to play, I mean its basically over anyway

though I just remembered Dirk & the Mavs erased a similar deficit vs. the Heatles in the Finals, lol

frogbs, Thursday, 7 March 2019 19:28 (seven years ago)

that was bad but not as bad as him giving up vs C's in last few minutes of playoffs that one year

A True White Kid that can Jump (Granny Dainger), Thursday, 7 March 2019 19:34 (seven years ago)

"that" being last night's ball roll

A True White Kid that can Jump (Granny Dainger), Thursday, 7 March 2019 19:34 (seven years ago)

he's getting older, not playing at 100% on both ends during the regular season, and joined a team that wasn't ready to slot in a star and immediately contend. theres nothing really that surprising going on here and it doesn't change that he's the best basketball talent of all time

ciderpress, Thursday, 7 March 2019 19:52 (seven years ago)

well yeah he could've not played a single nba game and still be "best basketball talent of all time" I guess?

A True White Kid that can Jump (Granny Dainger), Thursday, 7 March 2019 19:59 (seven years ago)

that's true but the whole "LeBron + scrubs" thing worked pretty well in the past and it's worth mentioning that a couple months into the season the Lakers looked like they were gonna cruise to the 2nd round. maybe the fact that the scrubs he's played with in the past were usually experienced dudes and not unpolished 22-year old trade pieces has a lot to do with it, especially with Bron giving the entire team a reason to quit on him. idk. I would've expected the opposite - Lakers to come out flat in the first half of the season, eventually gel into something decent and give someone a tough playoff series.

frogbs, Thursday, 7 March 2019 20:01 (seven years ago)

i mean i think he's locked in best nba player already but if he somehow never makes the playoffs again it'll be a lot closer than it should have been

ciderpress, Thursday, 7 March 2019 20:02 (seven years ago)

the whole "letting the ball roll down the court to keep the clock from starting" thing is totally played out and i hope the NBA institutes a possession starts when ball crosses at half court rule at the very least

Fuck the NRA (ulysses), Thursday, 7 March 2019 20:09 (seven years ago)

it has to happen on touch to preserve last second shot attempts but there's probably a clean enough way to fudge the rule

ciderpress, Thursday, 7 March 2019 20:13 (seven years ago)

the other team can just play defense if they want

lag∞n, Thursday, 7 March 2019 20:16 (seven years ago)

yeah that's really the crux of it i guess. it can't ever be in favor of both teams

ciderpress, Thursday, 7 March 2019 20:19 (seven years ago)

yeah I don't see anything problematic about the rule

k3vin k., Thursday, 7 March 2019 20:20 (seven years ago)

i didn't either until this year when everyone is doing this same dumb thing which is almost certainly gonna start showing up in a YMCA near you

Fuck the NRA (ulysses), Thursday, 7 March 2019 20:21 (seven years ago)

ok

lag∞n, Thursday, 7 March 2019 20:22 (seven years ago)

he did that exact play like two nights before and it worked (he missed the shot tho) but yeah it didnt look great given the current circumstances

I'm back to hating LBJ lol

its a fickle relationship for sure but im def currently on the side of the fence where he's annoying me again. being in LA its just oversaturated everything as expected, the shows the movies his kids hoopin his ig account his a&r-ing of 2chainz album his 'just a kid from akron' schtick his sabotaging of brow and his own teams and coaches...things of that nature...just all a bit much at the moment. thought id be bummed if he missed the playoffs but im actually excited to see some new faces

but I can't let Trae do it I got Huerter on my mind (Spottie), Thursday, 7 March 2019 20:25 (seven years ago)

he got an ego check after The Decision/Heatles, then over the years it's ballooned again and he's due for another checking

one thing ppl never talk about his how the sixers have bet their entire franchise on a big man who demands post touches in the playoffs but is demonstrably bad in the post

Lineup note: LeBron James will be limited to 28-32 minutes per game moving forward; could sit either leg of B2Bs.

are you guys sleeping on this game or

Clay, Friday, 8 March 2019 06:04 (seven years ago)

well the end of the fourth was as wild as shit gets in the reg season

Clay, Friday, 8 March 2019 06:19 (seven years ago)

That elbow that PG threw at Nurkic's head was absolutely not a natural move during a drive to the basket. He should have been called for a flagrant 2, but the refs refused to call anything at all. Shitty as hell.

Then, during the unavoidable jawing at the other end, when Nurkic leaned into PG and touched his forehead to PG's head the TNT announcer kept saying "head butt" over and over, but spring lambs literally butt each other with way more force than that. It was a technical, sure, but pretending it was violent contact was just stupid.

A is for (Aimless), Friday, 8 March 2019 06:51 (seven years ago)

If it were back in 1977 and Maurice Lucas were suited up for the Blazers, PG would have been paid in kind. Those days are over. But the supposed remedy is refs calling flagrant fouls when they happen, so payback isn't needed. The league needs to look at that one hard and issue a remedy.

A is for (Aimless), Friday, 8 March 2019 06:59 (seven years ago)

pg is a star, nothing will happen
