kd y u so grumpy

Kevin Durant asked about Kerr saying the team needed to play with more anger: “I thought we moved off joy. Now anger? I disagree with that one.” pic.twitter.com/M7o4nFDori

hates the business part.... wearing an uncle drew hat

Celtics’ Kyrie Irving after blowout win over Warriors: “The business part of it is what makes it terrible for me, honestly. Dealing with all this s—-. ... The basketball part: I have to keep that fun. That’s where I’m great... That’s what makes me happy.” pic.twitter.com/GJGRiDZkpF

Adam Silver on the "unhappiness" of NBA players caused by social media and being isolated is very interesting and worth a listen. pic.twitter.com/tRhTB7n0F2

kudos to silver for keeping it real re our anxious alienated contemporary culture tho the nostalgia for the age of jordan and couching it in basketball terms is kinda ridiculous, can totally understand why ppl wldnt have sympathy for super successful athletes but its gotta be an insane amount of pressure trying to be one of the ~500 best guys at something with constant media scrutiny etc

lag∞n, Wednesday, 6 March 2019 17:35 (seven years ago)

*thinks back to jordan punching his teammates indulging in all sorts of addictive/sociopathic behavior while using oakley as his enforcer* ah those were the days

lag∞n, Wednesday, 6 March 2019 17:37 (seven years ago)

btw dvr watched that whole bos-gs game and i think the dubs tried for like 3mins total, the nba needs a shorter season the jig is up every player and org totally understands at this point that any single regular season game just does not matter

lag∞n, Wednesday, 6 March 2019 17:40 (seven years ago)

draymond started that game possessed he was doing all the draymond things but no one else was up to it, unfortunate.

but I can't let Trae do it I got Huerter on my mind (Spottie), Wednesday, 6 March 2019 17:45 (seven years ago)

steph and kd were just like nah

lag∞n, Wednesday, 6 March 2019 17:47 (seven years ago)

Silver otm there, though his suggestion that the bulls were a kinder more loving times smacks of bullshit; if social media had been around in the heyday of Michael, Luc Longley might've killed himself.

Fuck the NRA (ulysses), Wednesday, 6 March 2019 17:54 (seven years ago)

the part about phones/headphones being isolating was interesting

J0rdan S., Wednesday, 6 March 2019 18:02 (seven years ago)

Luc Longley is def like one of the many adults who looks back and is glad that Facebook wasn't a thing when they were in high school

omar little, Wednesday, 6 March 2019 18:03 (seven years ago)

increased player movement is prob worth examining re team chemistry too

lag∞n, Wednesday, 6 March 2019 18:03 (seven years ago)

steph and kd were just like nah

once they saw boog get picked apart and roasted throughout the first quarter they were like whats the point. stephs rhythm is way off with boogie. the whole "only one ball" thing was bs when kd came but with boogie in the starring lineup its def real. having 3 guys that need the ball to work at their best + klay who needs shots just doesnt make sense.

but I can't let Trae do it I got Huerter on my mind (Spottie), Wednesday, 6 March 2019 18:09 (seven years ago)

boogie at the best of times is not a great defender but watching him drag his leg around out there while the celtics pranced by him is just like this is not the guy this team needs at center

lag∞n, Wednesday, 6 March 2019 18:12 (seven years ago)

some sort of bench scorer role kinda makes sense except for when u consider that in the offs the dubs are gonna have two of steph/kd/klay on the floor p much all the time

lag∞n, Wednesday, 6 March 2019 18:14 (seven years ago)

and then just dumping the ball to him in the post on offense on occasion...

a boogie back to the basket post-up is the 4th worst option in the starting lineup

but I can't let Trae do it I got Huerter on my mind (Spottie), Wednesday, 6 March 2019 18:14 (seven years ago)

yeah even having to consider getting him shots is counter productive

lag∞n, Wednesday, 6 March 2019 18:15 (seven years ago)

yeah if he was willing to come off the bench it would make more sense. or ok with being used minimally in certain matchups. im having shaq on the suns nightmare flashbacks.

but I can't let Trae do it I got Huerter on my mind (Spottie), Wednesday, 6 March 2019 18:18 (seven years ago)

ultimately it just seems like his body isnt right enough to play even passable D which if that doesnt improve basically makes him unplayable in the offs

lag∞n, Wednesday, 6 March 2019 18:23 (seven years ago)

yeah. i mean he can still pile up stats vs crap teams that arent smart enough (or dont have the personnel) to pick on him but as we see the games vs the teams that matter arent going to work

but I can't let Trae do it I got Huerter on my mind (Spottie), Wednesday, 6 March 2019 18:31 (seven years ago)

im really interested to see what his market value will be this summer. guess it still depends what we see deeper in the playoffs

but I can't let Trae do it I got Huerter on my mind (Spottie), Wednesday, 6 March 2019 18:32 (seven years ago)

knicks will max him out

you know who deserves sitewide mod privileges? (m bison), Wednesday, 6 March 2019 18:34 (seven years ago)

think hell prob get a two year deal at like ~17m a/y w some sort of option

lag∞n, Wednesday, 6 March 2019 18:35 (seven years ago)

or the knicks might max him out lol

lag∞n, Wednesday, 6 March 2019 18:36 (seven years ago)

sounds right xp

but I can't let Trae do it I got Huerter on my mind (Spottie), Wednesday, 6 March 2019 18:36 (seven years ago)

the knicks think they're getting kd Kyrie and Zion but they're gonna get boogie butler and ja

you know who deserves sitewide mod privileges? (m bison), Wednesday, 6 March 2019 18:41 (seven years ago)

“The business part of it is what makes it terrible for me, honestly," Kyrie said as he signed the contract that ensures he will be paid more than 100 million dollars, whether or not he is able to 'be great at basketball' by the time the contract has run its course. "I hate dealing with this shit," he added, just before driving back to his mansion in his expensive car.

u know business/capitalism/consumerism are fundamentally unsatisfying traps for humans so i dont blame even the winners of that game for not liking it, like obvs dissatisfaction doesnt represent a complete ethic but i support kyrie feeling that the situation is not quite right and i hope he explores that further while also not watching weirdo conspiracy youtubes anymore

lag∞n, Wednesday, 6 March 2019 18:46 (seven years ago)

and as far as a way of getting a ton of money being truly excellent at something is good, especially compared to the alternatives which generally have to do with exploiting your fellow humans/sentient beings/world

lag∞n, Wednesday, 6 March 2019 18:48 (seven years ago)

i don't really mind kyrie being hostile to media prying

ciderpress, Wednesday, 6 March 2019 18:50 (seven years ago)

i genuinely like when he does bizarre passive aggressive non answer answers

lag∞n, Wednesday, 6 March 2019 18:52 (seven years ago)

tho imo this is his best media performance

He needs to have a long talk with Kareem.

yeah its a fine way to live but he cant have it both ways when it serves his mood (i mean he can but people will naturally think he's disingenuous)

but I can't let Trae do it I got Huerter on my mind (Spottie), Wednesday, 6 March 2019 18:55 (seven years ago)

i feel like that dad question completely changed the course of the nba haha

but I can't let Trae do it I got Huerter on my mind (Spottie), Wednesday, 6 March 2019 18:55 (seven years ago)

he really stays with the journey, very present

k3vin k., Thursday, 7 March 2019 03:47 (seven years ago)

oh my god, lebron just rolled the ball up 75 feet, and then lost the ball when trying to pick it up. what an awful look

Haha just tuned in right when that happened
