why are the sixers acting as if their team is going to implode if they don't win the championship this season

J0rdan S., Wednesday, 6 February 2019 07:29 (seven years ago)

this trade is completely insane? i kinda feel bad for sixers fans

J0rdan S., Wednesday, 6 February 2019 07:30 (seven years ago)

the crash landing from hinkie to colangelo to elton brand has been harsh

J0rdan S., Wednesday, 6 February 2019 07:30 (seven years ago)

thats 4 all star level players in the starting lineup. probably all brand has in his sights.

marcos smart (Spottie), Wednesday, 6 February 2019 07:32 (seven years ago)

warriors brass shoulda never let jerry west go

marcos smart (Spottie), Wednesday, 6 February 2019 07:36 (seven years ago)

damn that's weird

ciderpress, Wednesday, 6 February 2019 07:36 (seven years ago)

it's true but there's also diminishing returns at a certain point. not only are you trading 2 first round picks for a half season of tobias harris, you're trading 2 first round picks for a half season of tobias harris on a team where he has to share the ball with jimmy butler, joel embiid and ben simmons

J0rdan S., Wednesday, 6 February 2019 07:37 (seven years ago)

how is this a real trade

Jeff Bathos (symsymsym), Wednesday, 6 February 2019 07:39 (seven years ago)

yeah and jimmy is still figuring out how to fit in... and now they add another new major piece.

marcos smart (Spottie), Wednesday, 6 February 2019 07:39 (seven years ago)

any way you slice it between the four of them you're diverting the ball away from a player you've heavily invested in be it in draft capital, trade capital, salary whatever. maybe ben simmons' shots go away but then you've turned your first overall pick who is an all star into a glorified version of mbah a moute.

and that's to say nothing of the other 8 guys on the team who might want to shoot the ball from time to time

J0rdan S., Wednesday, 6 February 2019 07:44 (seven years ago)

plz gimme the boban embiid lineup I crave

Clay, Wednesday, 6 February 2019 07:52 (seven years ago)

not too worried about shot distribution. this allows them some flexibilty with lineups and having tobias and jj will open things up for simmons and embiid to work.

marcos smart (Spottie), Wednesday, 6 February 2019 07:54 (seven years ago)

clippers punting the season means the pathway for bron (or the kings/wolves) is a little easier

marcos smart (Spottie), Wednesday, 6 February 2019 07:55 (seven years ago)

Rachel Nichols
@Rachel__Nichols

Wow is Tobias Harris a good fit for the Sixers.
Also seems relevant: the Clippers' first-round pick this year is supposed to go to Boston...unless the Clippers don't make the playoffs.

marcos smart (Spottie), Wednesday, 6 February 2019 07:57 (seven years ago)

The Sixers are budgeting to re-sign and keep a new Big 4, including free agents Tobias Harris and Jimmy Butler this summer, league sources tell ESPN. Philadelphia has long-term plans for Harris, Butler, Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons together.

— Adrian Wojnarowski (@wojespn) February 6, 2019

this is insane. you need to have 13 players on your team!

J0rdan S., Wednesday, 6 February 2019 08:28 (seven years ago)

this makes sense in theory but if this team is being flexible with lineups aka staggering minutes they’re going to be playing guys who wouldn’t get on the court much for a lot of teams in the NBA. if you’re going to go all in on 4 guys you want them on the court.

and already embiid and jimmy have been complaining about the offense

J0rdan S., Wednesday, 6 February 2019 08:34 (seven years ago)

i get that the league is an arms race against the warriors but the warriors have pieces that fit together... one of their 4 stars only shoots when forced to and another goes entire games without dribbling.

i don’t think forced super teams work & i’m really skeptical that this forced super team of all forced super teams is gonna work

J0rdan S., Wednesday, 6 February 2019 08:49 (seven years ago)

they traded that miami pick for tobias harris??

call all destroyer, Wednesday, 6 February 2019 11:21 (seven years ago)

feels like contingency for butler leaving the more i think about it.

So are clippers hoarding picks to make a move for brow?

i am available to sit on the sixers bench for the minimum nba salary

Pistons are finalizing a trade to send Stanley Johnson to Milwaukee for Thon Maker, league source tells ESPN.

J0rdan S., Wednesday, 6 February 2019 16:32 (seven years ago)

don't like that one for the bucks

J0rdan S., Wednesday, 6 February 2019 16:32 (seven years ago)

idgi

ciderpress, Wednesday, 6 February 2019 16:33 (seven years ago)

thon had been wanting a trade.... stanley johnson is not good tho

J0rdan S., Wednesday, 6 February 2019 16:33 (seven years ago)

coach bud never seemed to be into thon but i think he still has more to offer than stanley johnson.

call all destroyer, Wednesday, 6 February 2019 16:34 (seven years ago)

both guys seemed to need a change of scenery just seems like a lateral swap to me.

marcos smart (Spottie), Wednesday, 6 February 2019 17:34 (seven years ago)

Tobias seems great for the sixers. Part of the issue is that their coach is so bad but it should result in fewer idiotic possessions where embiid catapults 30 foot bricks

Matt Armstrong, Wednesday, 6 February 2019 18:52 (seven years ago)

The Gasol/Conley stuff is really interesting to me

Matt Armstrong, Wednesday, 6 February 2019 18:53 (seven years ago)

what stuff?

k3vin k., Wednesday, 6 February 2019 19:02 (seven years ago)

The Durant thing is getting weird. He hasnt talked to the media since the Porzingis trade. Ethan wrote a thing about it
https://theathletic.com/802440/2019/02/05/silent-star-on-the-presumed-warriors-exit-of-kevin-durant/

marcos smart (Spottie), Wednesday, 6 February 2019 19:14 (seven years ago)

It’s possible that Durant is just engaged in the Schultz 2020 campaign and doesn’t have time for media rn

Matt Armstrong, Wednesday, 6 February 2019 19:18 (seven years ago)

lol

call all destroyer, Wednesday, 6 February 2019 19:25 (seven years ago)

need more trades

k3vin k., Wednesday, 6 February 2019 20:16 (seven years ago)

So I guess KD for AD is happening after all.

Fetchboy, Wednesday, 6 February 2019 20:21 (seven years ago)

The Rockets have discussed trading Brandon Knight, Marquese Chriss, and a Draft Pick to the Grizzlies for JaMychal Green and Garrett Temple

k3vin k., Wednesday, 6 February 2019 20:29 (seven years ago)

lol awesome. same

marcos smart (Spottie), Wednesday, 6 February 2019 20:36 (seven years ago)

Miami is nearing a deal to send guard Tyler Johnson to Phoenix, league sources tell ESPN.

k3vin k., Wednesday, 6 February 2019 20:41 (seven years ago)

is tyler johnson a pg?

marcos smart (Spottie), Wednesday, 6 February 2019 20:42 (seven years ago)

lol tyler johnson gets a 15% trade bonus around 1 milli. his agent should get all of that for getting him the deal he's on.

marcos smart (Spottie), Wednesday, 6 February 2019 20:48 (seven years ago)

waiting for terms...easiest way to make it work is r. anderson and some draft compensation.

call all destroyer, Wednesday, 6 February 2019 20:52 (seven years ago)

old tweet ha

I did not ask for the LEBRON bandwagon

John Gambadoro
@Gambo987

So to sum up Tyler Johnson and Wayne Ellington to the Suns for Ryan Anderson. There are no picks involved in this trade.
