it stands to reason that NBA players are just a lot better at basketball overall now than they've ever been, tbh. the game done changed

a lot better at offense, at least. if they were proportionally a lot better at defense as well then the numbers wouldnt change

i do feel like the refs call more stuff fouls now that used to just be defense but i dont have evidence

the rules and the way the games are called dictated a change in play style that lends itself to buffed stats . there is also been advances in training protocol and sports medicine stuff , dudes overall care more about preparation too maybe.

also just ppl realized that taking as many 3s as possible is good if youre at at all above average at shooting them which increases variability & range of results

funny how long it took people to figure that out .. shit the 3pt line used to be closer even

like even u cldnt get off all those threes w/o the tight officiating which has been an evolving situation over the last ~15 years and this year they even have been calling it tighter w a point of emphasis being grabbing/holding off the ball

i am in general in favor of opening things up for the offense but i think they may have gone a little too far over the last few years and produced not that great outcomes like hardens hack the league schtick, general ridiculous levels of hoisting, and basically made it impossible to play shutdown D

also rendered the once holy concept of a triple double a cheap joke, and made the stats of today m/l incomparable to the stats of just a few years ago

trip dubs are pretty standard now but i still like when dudes who dont hunt for them get them. or unicorns like big honey. dennis smith junior got one last night and that seems kinda cool idk.

god I love the nba and especially that the knicks are in it truly a delicious combo

i think this is amazing for porzingis... he's leaving one of the most destructive franchises in the nba for one who built its entire offensive system around a large white oaf who can shoot

if it wasnt for zingers injury situation/risk itd be highway robbery, seems like a very reasonable risk as is

almost every guy in every sport who has an ACL injury comes back fully healthy... this feels like a heist by the mavs to me
