43/8/8 for more than a month is crazy, has anyone ever had a 5-6 week split like this?

marcos smart (Spottie), Thursday, 24 January 2019 22:41 (seven years ago)

The tweet about harden scoring 143 buckets on zero assists was deleted. Is that not true?

DJI, Friday, 25 January 2019 22:39 (seven years ago)

he was referencing it yesterday........

Harden’s teammates have responded to his five game unassisted bucket steak by shooting 30% on open 3s and 33% on wide open 3s

lag∞n, Friday, 25 January 2019 22:49 (seven years ago)

the bucket steak is my least favorite cut of beef.

EZ Snappin, Friday, 25 January 2019 23:30 (seven years ago)

RIP to a great weird run

Mike Zavagno@MZavagno11

James Harden’s unassisted basket streak ended at the 6:36 mark of the 1Q tonight, courtesy of Kenneth Faried (who wasn’t even on the team when it began)
Finally tally
302 consecutive points on 87 unassisted baskets

btw harden had 40-11-6-1-3

marcos smart (Spottie), Monday, 28 January 2019 03:50 (seven years ago)

interesting...it’s only based on part of this season and these numbers iirc are best interpreted with data over multiple seasons. and there are box score priors that are inputted too — his steals and blocks are down this year so that might have something to do with it.

k3vin k., Tuesday, 12 February 2019 20:46 (seven years ago)

brow 3 points on 1/9 shooting...

avery bradley whos been a trash heap all year and hasnt score more than 15 in a game this year randomly 33/6/6

PIPM seems to be a lot better from what i've seen of it. of course rpm is a joke so the bar is low.

call all destroyer, Friday, 15 February 2019 14:43 (seven years ago)

all plus minus is fundamentally philosophically flawed

lag∞n, Friday, 15 February 2019 14:44 (seven years ago)

I don't agree with that, but clearly there are some issues -- mostly owing to small sample sizes and clustered lineups -- that make it unreliable in some cases

k3vin k., Friday, 15 February 2019 17:31 (seven years ago)

like horford's RPM is really good, 32nd in the league, which seems consistent with his reputation and production this year. like with any statistic some human judgment is needed -- think of theis's numbers like you would a utility infielder whose batting line is really solid vs very favorable matchups, whose numbers would almost certainly come back to earth with more playing time and against more varied opposition. he's played 600 minutes this year, like 1/3 of most starters

k3vin k., Friday, 15 February 2019 17:35 (seven years ago)

like with any stat there are some players where you scratch your head, and the statistics are in their relative infancy and will hopefully continue to improve. I do think the philosophy of RPM/PIPM is basically what the game is all about though: everything else being equal (& obv this is where the kinks are still being worked out), what is the effect of this player being on the floor on the score of the game?
