this seems emblematic of his career on that end of the floor

the most common reason would be him feeling pressure to be a hero for the team, which doesn't imply that the management, staff or players were applying any direct pressure. the "shake it off and let's go win this" stuff is everywhere in youth sports and it can get internalized early on. at the nba level it's more common to take the long view regarding starters' health, because the big contracts are a compelling reason not to discount the future.

Rings true but its not close to a contract year and they're not really in strong contention so I'd assume the NBA imperatives should win out. Especially with the softly-softly approach to player health that's been more prevalent recently. Guess I've bee giving it too much credit.

casual fans really dont like his game., it's not the most visually appealing style. the narrative has stuck that he just tricks his way to 25 free throws per game and plays zero defense.

was talking to my asu grad friend the other night and we were both like man this is crazy we did not see this in him when we saw him play at asu. I think we went together to see him play about 4-5 times and we left every game thinking like ok he does a bit of everything but he's so passive for way too many stretches of the game. his demeanor didnt make it seem like he cared.

yep. living in the bay area now and ive was priced out of oracle years ago. i’d get my hoops fix in sacto and splurge for lower bowl tix.

looking forward to cheap seats once again. might need to plan trips to san antonio & dallas too
