of which lavine is on pace to be 42nd out of 42 in win shares

ciderpress, Sunday, 20 January 2019 18:55 (seven years ago)

*that efficiently* aka used his ts% as a baseline

tsrobodo, Sunday, 20 January 2019 18:56 (seven years ago)

he needs to hoist better before i get excited

ciderpress, Sunday, 20 January 2019 18:59 (seven years ago)

excuse me scoring 22 points in a season is an accomplishment to me

k3vin k., Sunday, 20 January 2019 19:00 (seven years ago)

Would question the value of win shares as a stat in evaluating players on teams that aren’t expected to win.

tsrobodo, Sunday, 20 January 2019 19:00 (seven years ago)

yeah thats just what it sorts those by by default or i wouldnt have even looked at the stat

ciderpress, Sunday, 20 January 2019 19:01 (seven years ago)

i just think as a one way player he needs to be more efficient than he currently is to be intriguing

ciderpress, Sunday, 20 January 2019 19:04 (seven years ago)

I’d argue he’s been very efficient given the circumstances. Given his skill set he’s being asked to do far too much

tsrobodo, Sunday, 20 January 2019 19:06 (seven years ago)

Boysenberry is the pantomime nobody can even be bothered to throw tomato’s at, but no way is the takeaway from this half season that Lavine is bad, I mean woeful defensively but 14 other players ever have put up his numbers that efficiently under the age of 23. In a less disastrous setup hes easily an all star

i mean you might be right, i just cant see him as anything other than a high stats guy on a bad team. he might sneak in as an all-star reserve one day, but right now kyrie, kemba, simmons, oladipo, beal, and lowry are all better backcourt players.

21st savagery fox (m bison), Sunday, 20 January 2019 19:08 (seven years ago)

scoring 22 in _this_ economy is all right, but he's never had a positive on/off rating ever, idk idk

21st savagery fox (m bison), Sunday, 20 January 2019 19:09 (seven years ago)

i'm a big fan of lavine's too... i think i said i would've traded wiggins to the bulls instead and i don't feel too awful about that right now. i think the style he plays is not really conducive to making a bad team better but i would love to see him on a good team that could cover for his faults. he would be really good in an eric gordon kinda role for any of the top teams in the east right now imo

J0rdan S., Sunday, 20 January 2019 19:16 (seven years ago)

i agree with that, wiggins is badder

21st savagery fox (m bison), Sunday, 20 January 2019 19:21 (seven years ago)

i do think he's better than wiggins

ciderpress, Sunday, 20 January 2019 19:23 (seven years ago)

probably a bit better than eric gordon even if that's the comp we're making

ciderpress, Sunday, 20 January 2019 19:25 (seven years ago)

Yeah the well paid corpse of Wiggins is a pretty low bar

tsrobodo, Sunday, 20 January 2019 19:31 (seven years ago)

Doris Burke absolutely went in on him and the following play he proceeds to completely prove her point

tsrobodo, Sunday, 20 January 2019 19:32 (seven years ago)

yeah idk idk is right cause It’s so ugly on d that you wonder if his smoothness and athleticism on the other end can ever compensate. I mean I look at where players like Lowry and Conley were at 23 and can’t help but be hopeful for the guy

was watching this and i was like, damn, doris is going in. it wasnt like he had a rough play, it was like, this guy is gutless fuck this

21st savagery fox (m bison), Sunday, 20 January 2019 19:47 (seven years ago)

I was always a believer in De'aaron Fox, but I am now slowly coming around on Buddy Hield.

A is for (Aimless), Sunday, 20 January 2019 19:53 (seven years ago)

Slowly?! Dude has legit game bending potential. Probably one of the 4 best shooters in the league over the last 3 years

tsrobodo, Sunday, 20 January 2019 20:02 (seven years ago)

I don't have enough exposure to the kings to move any faster. Stats tell me much less than watching game play.

A is for (Aimless), Sunday, 20 January 2019 20:06 (seven years ago)

They’ve been pretty fun to watch all year, fun comes from Fox but much of the viability is in buddy keeping them in games just via shooting

tsrobodo, Sunday, 20 January 2019 20:31 (seven years ago)

Also, Willie Cauley-Stein's smile is amazing.

Fetchboy, Sunday, 20 January 2019 20:42 (seven years ago)

yeah hield turned out as advertised after a lot of skepticism

ciderpress, Sunday, 20 January 2019 20:50 (seven years ago)

hes old as hell tho so its p much wysiwyg

lag∞n, Sunday, 20 January 2019 20:52 (seven years ago)

it's nice that he's taking two more threes a game this year and still shooting his best-ever percentage. i would still like him to do more other basketball things but yeah that's not going to happen.

call all destroyer, Sunday, 20 January 2019 20:54 (seven years ago)

i mean what he is right now would be welcome on p much any team

ciderpress, Sunday, 20 January 2019 21:05 (seven years ago)

Lakers point guard Lonzo Ball will miss 4-to-6 weeks with a Grade 3 left ankle sprain.

super tough to lose one of your top ten players when LeBron is about to return

omar little, Sunday, 20 January 2019 23:49 (seven years ago)

lol

lag∞n, Monday, 21 January 2019 04:03 (seven years ago)

just got home from the spurs game which was my son's first. it was competitive, but the spurs struggled with the clippers' p'n'r and the defensive intensity of avery bradley and pat beverley. derrick white continues to be that dude tho. honestly, he's been playing as the second best player on the team and i wish he would assert himself more bc he's capable.

21st savagery fox (m bison), Monday, 21 January 2019 04:10 (seven years ago)

congrats to bise jr on becoming a big nba boy

lag∞n, Monday, 21 January 2019 04:14 (seven years ago)

he got mad at me for booing one of the players during their free throws, and i had to teach him about the finer details of home court advantage

21st savagery fox (m bison), Monday, 21 January 2019 04:15 (seven years ago)

short version: it's not mean bc he is very far away and cannot see or hear my boos

Fuck the NRA (ulysses), Monday, 21 January 2019 17:05 (seven years ago)

the knicks are a tough watch. terrible defense.

this pistons team is abysmal. blake is balling out this year and he's stuck next to a weirdo behemoth instead of surrounded by shooters. im not sure theres a team currently in a worse situation

marcos smart (Spottie), Monday, 21 January 2019 21:13 (seven years ago)

the bottom 5 or 6 in the east all seem like they're in pretty dire medium-term shape

k3vin k., Monday, 21 January 2019 21:17 (seven years ago)

i think the wiz have a worse situation

ciderpress, Monday, 21 January 2019 21:18 (seven years ago)

like heat, hornets, pistons, wiz, magic, hawks, bulls, knicks, cavs.....do any of those teams have reason for optimism? knicks fans I'm sure are convinced everything is going to work out somehow

k3vin k., Monday, 21 January 2019 21:19 (seven years ago)

yeah the wiz are in total purgatory until they figure out how to deal with that wall contract

k3vin k., Monday, 21 January 2019 21:19 (seven years ago)

hawks and knicks have some room to be agile, they're not any worse off than any given basement team its just up to the front office there

the others all have another year or more before their books clear

ciderpress, Monday, 21 January 2019 21:22 (seven years ago)

right but...then what

k3vin k., Monday, 21 January 2019 21:22 (seven years ago)

hornets will be miserably bad if kemba leaves and i dont see why he'd stay

ciderpress, Monday, 21 January 2019 21:24 (seven years ago)
