i find it hard to believe that a better and/or more creative coach couldn't work around ben simmons' shooting deficiencies in late game half court situations. and work to his strengths too!

the one thing i will allow brown tho is that most star players don't actually want to run plays at the end of games, and he has three of them. for as much as embiid will gripe about being a floor spacer he just wants the ball in the post at the end of games which is a bad play also. and jimmy just wants to iso and shoot a fade away, which is not great either. good luck to brett brown.

yeah I know I've been thinking about this for like a week

*if he cld play center hed prob be good as a roll man, not sure why philly doesnt try using him that way some, cld just run some plays he doesnt have to actually be "playing" center, tho he is an utter farce as at point guard in a set offense

there's gotta be be plenty of ways to initiate good offense with ben simmons handling the ball in the halfcourt that don't start off with him stationary dribbling the ball above the 3 point line waiting for a pick and roll, imo

Totally. Do the Sixers run post-ups for Simmons now that they can use Butler up top yet? Simmons has such a nice bunny hook game with both hands iirc, seems like they could rack up some points. Even if he'll never be a better shooter than, say, Rondo, there must be sets they can run that don't give teams the option of sagging off of him at any point.

When Lowe talked to Brooke Lopez a few weeks ago, Lowe asked him if he was a bit sad about launching 50 3s a game now and not banging down low. Kinda cool that Embiid would rather bang inside.
