they really just need to add a wing defender or two

lakers roster outside lebron seems pretty exploitable

this is it to me, like no one else on this team is remotely scary in the playoffs

call all destroyer, Wednesday, 26 December 2018 03:07 (seven years ago)

harden is doing insane things again this year everyone hates him but he is very good, hes shooting 40%+ on unassisted 3s!

lag∞n, Wednesday, 26 December 2018 03:08 (seven years ago)

and the rockets O is rolling massively

lag∞n, Wednesday, 26 December 2018 03:08 (seven years ago)

need to learn defense tho

lag∞n, Wednesday, 26 December 2018 03:08 (seven years ago)

i mean harden will fail in the playoffs ultimately but he might take out the lakers first

call all destroyer, Wednesday, 26 December 2018 03:09 (seven years ago)

he came one cp3 hammy from (very possibly) winning it all last year

lag∞n, Wednesday, 26 December 2018 03:10 (seven years ago)

yeah but he shot 40% (and 30 from 3) in the playoffs and i'm counting on nothing from cp3 this year.

call all destroyer, Wednesday, 26 December 2018 03:12 (seven years ago)

obva if the rox want to make noise they need cp3 to do something and tbh i wldnt put it past that little bastard to have one last run in him

lag∞n, Wednesday, 26 December 2018 03:15 (seven years ago)

hardens slow 1on1 style of ball tho yeah isnt built for the offs, gotta keep the ball swinging if you want to beat good D

lag∞n, Wednesday, 26 December 2018 03:16 (seven years ago)

“the little bastard” would be a great nickname for cp3 too bad he’s cooked already

Clay, Wednesday, 26 December 2018 03:17 (seven years ago)

he is the little bastard, nothing more nothing less

lag∞n, Wednesday, 26 December 2018 03:18 (seven years ago)

this is funny to me

I'm not really convinced that the Warriors are in trouble—we have them at even money to win the title—but a *lot* of our forecast's optimism is based on Cousins coming back and being reasonably effective. Boogie may be more of a necessity than a luxury. https://t.co/AOrx3xBIJi pic.twitter.com/O4ZJ8MqW5B

zach lowe was talking on his pod last week about the insane number of people who seem to be convinced that this wasn’t the case and that the warriors were always bound to win it

k3vin k., Wednesday, 26 December 2018 03:24 (seven years ago)

dubs just got run off the floor by rondo and the lakers bench

J0rdan S., Wednesday, 26 December 2018 03:25 (seven years ago)

andre iguodala led that game with those rosters in scoring

Clay, Wednesday, 26 December 2018 03:32 (seven years ago)

i think kuzma is a great fit next to lebron offensively... and i like hart and lonzo around him too. they prob need to make another move.

i just don't see a team other than the warriors i would pick to beat lebron and this cast rn... rockets and okc would be close. i don't think denver is ready for that.

J0rdan S., Wednesday, 26 December 2018 03:32 (seven years ago)

lonzo shoots from the wrong side of his head

some analysts that i generally like beat this drum...like i'm sorry, if you're losing going into the second half of a game 7 you technically had a significant chance of losing.

call all destroyer, Wednesday, 26 December 2018 03:47 (seven years ago)

reasonable point

like uhhh especially when the other team's 1B player is out and they missed 27 straight 3s???

k3vin k., Wednesday, 26 December 2018 05:58 (seven years ago)

it's like people don't watch the games which tbf might be true

k3vin k., Wednesday, 26 December 2018 05:59 (seven years ago)

i wish i hadn't watched that game

ciderpress, Wednesday, 26 December 2018 11:47 (seven years ago)

Opposing defenses have always sagged off Draymond Green, but, starting in Utah the other night, they're taking it to an extreme. This is before four misses today. pic.twitter.com/jUILAe1XUx

Continue to wonder if the real diagnosis for a lot of these favorite oddshot players is due to cross eye dominance that forces them to mangle their shooting form (and keeps them from managing / changing). A few players, Larry Bird and LeBron IIRC, have always shot with their off-hand, which I think accounts for Bird's funky over-the-head form, which just kept his hands/ball outside out of his field of vision, rather than just trying to evade a shot-block; Bron's shooting has improved the higher his shot release has gotten over the years as well.

Not sure how effective dominant eye training is, but wonder if at some point NBA teams/players might invest in having an optometrist around. Like, it's no suprise that Ben Simmons is cross dominant as well, as are a ton of the other disgusting shooters.

Also very curious if there's ever been a more competitive conference over a season than this year's WC. Almost at the halfway point and basically every non-Suns team is not only in contention for the playoffs but honestly also within striking distance of Golden State (Pellies only 7.5g back atm).

simmons really fucks up phillys whole ability to scheme

lag∞n, Wednesday, 26 December 2018 17:04 (seven years ago)

they cld eat off the jimmy/joel pnr except theres a guy on the court the defense can cheat off of so instead they use the stagnant laborious embiid post up and hes exhausted by the 4th quarter

lag∞n, Wednesday, 26 December 2018 17:09 (seven years ago)

he really shd be the best (or second best) roll man in the league but philly runs the pnr the least of anyone

was just thinking about birds funky off center form, stockton shot his 3s over his shoulder too, fwiw using yr off hand as more than just a guide aka thumbing is way more common in good shooters than the purists wld have u think, just watched a bunch of birds shots and he def didnt do it all the time more of a situational adjustment which also give the lie to the shoot the same all the time rule which is ridiculous as it doesnt account for context like yr gonna need to do different stuff to get a shot off in different situations

lag∞n, Wednesday, 26 December 2018 17:42 (seven years ago)

i do get some scott brooks/OKC vibes off the way the sixers play at the end of games, but brett brown is in an unenviable situation in that regard in several ways

J0rdan S., Wednesday, 26 December 2018 17:57 (seven years ago)

yeah good chance this is his last season w the team not sure its his fault tho

what if they traded simmons and some stuff for KD and dray

k3vin k., Wednesday, 26 December 2018 18:07 (seven years ago)

butler-joel-kd-dray wld be an incredible collection of lunatics ill give u that

lag∞n, Wednesday, 26 December 2018 18:09 (seven years ago)

and simmons wld actually be perfect on the dubs.......

lag∞n, Wednesday, 26 December 2018 18:09 (seven years ago)

i find it hard to believe that a better and/or more creative coach couldn't work around ben simmons' shooting deficiencies in late game half court situations. and work to his strengths too!

the one thing i will allow brown tho is that most star players don't actually want to run plays at the end of games, and he has three of them. for as much as embiid will gripe about being a floor spacer he just wants the ball in the post at the end of games which is a bad play also. and jimmy just wants to iso and shoot a fade away, which is not great either. good luck to brett brown.

J0rdan S., Wednesday, 26 December 2018 18:15 (seven years ago)

simmons just like isnt a good halfcourt player, sorry!

lag∞n, Wednesday, 26 December 2018 18:20 (seven years ago)

and simmons wld actually be perfect on the dubs.......

― lag∞n, Wednesday, December 26, 2018 1:09 PM (twelve minutes ago)

yeah I know I've been thinking about this for like a week

k3vin k., Wednesday, 26 December 2018 18:22 (seven years ago)

*if he cld play center hed prob be good as a roll man, not sure why philly doesnt try using him that way some, cld just run some plays he doesnt have to actually be "playing" center, tho he is an utter farce as at point guard in a set offense

lag∞n, Wednesday, 26 December 2018 18:24 (seven years ago)

there's gotta be be plenty of ways to initiate good offense with ben simmons handling the ball in the halfcourt that don't start off with him stationary dribbling the ball above the 3 point line waiting for a pick and roll, imo

J0rdan S., Wednesday, 26 December 2018 18:27 (seven years ago)

maybe but the already difficult situation is compounded by the fact that hes not their only player who doesnt shoot good

lag∞n, Wednesday, 26 December 2018 18:29 (seven years ago)
