this is it to me, like no one else on this team is remotely scary in the playoffs

harden is doing insane things again this year everyone hates him but he is very good, hes shooting 40%+ on unassisted 3s!

and the rockets O is rolling massively

dubs just got run off the floor by rondo and the lakers bench

andre iguodala led that game with those rosters in scoring

i think kuzma is a great fit next to lebron offensively... and i like hart and lonzo around him too. they prob need to make another move.

i just don't see a team other than the warriors i would pick to beat lebron and this cast rn... rockets and okc would be close. i don't think denver is ready for that.

Continue to wonder if the real diagnosis for a lot of these favorite oddshot players is due to cross eye dominance that forces them to mangle their shooting form (and keeps them from managing / changing). A few players, Larry Bird and LeBron IIRC, have always shot with their off-hand, which I think accounts for Bird's funky over-the-head form, which just kept his hands/ball outside out of his field of vision, rather than just trying to evade a shot-block; Bron's shooting has improved the higher his shot release has gotten over the years as well.

Not sure how effective dominant eye training is, but wonder if at some point NBA teams/players might invest in having an optometrist around. Like, it's no suprise that Ben Simmons is cross dominant as well, as are a ton of the other disgusting shooters.

Also very curious if there's ever been a more competitive conference over a season than this year's WC. Almost at the halfway point and basically every non-Suns team is not only in contention for the playoffs but honestly also within striking distance of Golden State (Pellies only 7.5g back atm).

simmons really fucks up phillys whole ability to scheme

they cld eat off the jimmy/joel pnr except theres a guy on the court the defense can cheat off of so instead they use the stagnant laborious embiid post up and hes exhausted by the 4th quarter

he really shd be the best (or second best) roll man in the league but philly runs the pnr the least of anyone

was just thinking about birds funky off center form, stockton shot his 3s over his shoulder too, fwiw using yr off hand as more than just a guide aka thumbing is way more common in good shooters than the purists wld have u think, just watched a bunch of birds shots and he def didnt do it all the time more of a situational adjustment which also give the lie to the shoot the same all the time rule which is ridiculous as it doesnt account for context like yr gonna need to do different stuff to get a shot off in different situations

i do get some scott brooks/OKC vibes off the way the sixers play at the end of games, but brett brown is in an unenviable situation in that regard in several ways

yeah good chance this is his last season w the team not sure its his fault tho

and simmons wld actually be perfect on the dubs.......

i find it hard to believe that a better and/or more creative coach couldn't work around ben simmons' shooting deficiencies in late game half court situations. and work to his strengths too!

the one thing i will allow brown tho is that most star players don't actually want to run plays at the end of games, and he has three of them. for as much as embiid will gripe about being a floor spacer he just wants the ball in the post at the end of games which is a bad play also. and jimmy just wants to iso and shoot a fade away, which is not great either. good luck to brett brown.

yeah I know I've been thinking about this for like a week

*if he cld play center hed prob be good as a roll man, not sure why philly doesnt try using him that way some, cld just run some plays he doesnt have to actually be "playing" center, tho he is an utter farce as at point guard in a set offense

there's gotta be be plenty of ways to initiate good offense with ben simmons handling the ball in the halfcourt that don't start off with him stationary dribbling the ball above the 3 point line waiting for a pick and roll, imo

maybe but the already difficult situation is compounded by the fact that hes not their only player who doesnt shoot good
