Here’s a fun stat: If Marcus Smart made one more 3-pointer this season, he would have a better 3-point percentage so far than … Klay Thompson.

Tim Reynolds @ByTimReynolds

The Spurs lost by more than 30 points five times in Gregg Popovich’s first 1,758 regular-season games as coach.

It’s now happened three times in the last four games.

picked the wrong year to lose their 4 best perimeter defenders to trade, free agency, and injury

That was Paul George's first career make on a go-ahead attempt with 10 seconds left in the 4th quarter or overtime. He entered the day 0-14 on those kinds of shots.

Lowry 0/5 0 points basically the same game stat wise that John wall put up yesterday. He still sucks ass vs good teams.

In the last 15 games since the Rockets and Melo parted ways, they're still ranked 27th in DefRtg.

— BBALLBREAKDOWN (@bballbreakdown) December 12, 2018

However, in those same 15 games, they are ranked 1st in OffRtg by a HUGE margin

klay deciding he prefers to shoot from 22ft this year is kinda weird too maybe someone shd talk to him

lag∞n, Thursday, 20 December 2018 00:47 (seven years ago)

with dragic out the heat have been using justise winslow as their primary PG in a lot of games (started there tonight) and this month he has lines of:

20-8-6, 2 blocks (suns)
21-6-9, 2 steals (clippers)
28-7-2, 1 steal (lakers)
22-6-5, 4 steals (magic)

he also has as many games with single digits in scoring so his play is still erratic, but the highs have gotten pretty high. he's a unique player... this is an imperfect comparison but when he's playing well he reminds me of a bit of draymond (or the draymond that contributed on offense). they're basically the same size (~6-7 230) and both are "playmakers" in that they're never gonna be consistently high scorers but can distribute pretty well and score enough to keep the defense honest. winslow has more of a guard skill set tho and obv on defense dray is one of a kind and winslow is more of just a really solid defender who can guard 4 positions vs a lot of teams, which is nice but not the same of course.

shot has been looking pretty good lately too. he was splashing against the lakers as well as making plays at the rim

Harden has taken 364 3s this season:
• A mere 24 of those have been off the catch.
• 196 of his 335 pull up 3s have been after 7+ dribbles.
• Only 38 of his 3s have been wide open.

maybe if winslow is the guard version of good draymond green that makes him marcus smart... but with offense? i almost feel like that undersells this version of him (which likely is not sustainable) but is still a pretty nice player
