The scorn bothers him less than it would probably bother most people, in part because he should probably be dead. A rare autoimmune disorder caused him to lose half of his blood in June 2008. As fluid began filling his lungs, doctors placed Windhorst into a medically induced coma.

“I remember falling asleep, and I woke up 22 days later,” he said.

Worries that his brain was permanently injured dissipated after a friend told him in the hospital that Elton Brand had signed an $82 million contract with the Philadelphia 76ers.

“I was like, ‘I don’t think they have the cap space to sign that deal,’ ” Windhorst said. “When he knew I was talking about the 76ers’ cap position, they were pretty sure I was going to be O.K.”

yeesh, i didn’t know that.

the flak windy seems to get is crazy to me. he’s super plugged in to the league and he’s great at distilling really complex cap/roster stuff.

Sabonis really needs to get 35 minutes per game. The production is just absurd at this point. Like just make it work

Matt Armstrong, Wednesday, 21 November 2018 20:54 (seven years ago)

I heard yesterday that Wall's trade kicker means Washington would pay $22 million if they trade him this year (I think that's the difference between his current salary and the max, because 15% of his entire contract is more than that amount). Max extensions do weird things with contracts - next summer once his extension is in it would cost them nothing because you can't make over the max, trade kicker or no.

this is flagrant horseshit

In addition to a previously diagnosed right shoulder injury that continues to impact him, Fultz has been playing with an apparent injury in his right wrist area that has adversely affected his ability to shoot, league sources told The Athletic. The issue has led to periodic difficulties holding on to the ball during his shot. Specialists have been working with Fultz to figure out how they can strengthen the wrist area to remedy the injury.

Sources with knowledge of Fultz’s thinking have also told The Athletic that the player would prefer a fresh start with a new team.

The wrist and shoulder injuries’ impact varies; some days they badly hinder him, other days they do not, causing an erratic pattern in which his shot appears to be working one game and is off the next. As he tries to work through and compensate for the injury, it has at times resulted in a case of the ‘yips,’ especially when shooting free throws.

Clay, Thursday, 22 November 2018 00:02 (seven years ago)

cash considerations owns

ciderpress, Thursday, 22 November 2018 00:12 (seven years ago)

hate those pesky wrist and shoulder injuries that are intermittent and undiagnosable.

call all destroyer, Thursday, 22 November 2018 00:14 (seven years ago)

Also underemphasized is the wrong team injury. Hard for doctors to diagnose but should be taken more seriously by front offices.

Fetchboy, Thursday, 22 November 2018 00:19 (seven years ago)

lol

call all destroyer, Thursday, 22 November 2018 00:25 (seven years ago)

It's weird that he has a weak wrist because all indications are he's a total wanker.

k3vin k., Thursday, 22 November 2018 03:20 (seven years ago)

some coach could really fuck with bron's head by insisting that the refs call him for lane violations on his own FTs

Spottie, Thursday, 22 November 2018 03:26 (seven years ago)

spurs are 8-9 and about to start a 4-game road trip? let the tanking begin.

21st savagery fox (m bison), Thursday, 22 November 2018 04:19 (seven years ago)

Aldridge cooked?

Spottie, Thursday, 22 November 2018 04:20 (seven years ago)

Aldridge probably needs more shooting talent around him. He was never elite at creating shots, except for a couple of favorite mid-range post-up spots. He'll pass out of double teams when teams collapse on his post position and his teammates have to convert reliably.

A is for (Aimless), Thursday, 22 November 2018 04:31 (seven years ago)

looking that way, yeah. his shooting is just AWFUL so far this year. he makes a impact as a rebounder and a post defender, but....ugh, IDK. they're calling it a "slump." he's getting good looks sometimes, but defenses are quick to throw a double team at him and he's struggling to find open guys.

demar is not the problem. he's been o defensively and great on offense. had a go-ahead bucket with 1.2 secs left. spurs got called for a ticky tack foul on marc gasol's final shot, he got FTs. then he fouls LMA's last second shot, no call. terrible loss.
