horfords 11 years arent enough?

micah, Monday, 12 November 2018 07:17 (seven years ago)

yeah this deal def has a uh wide range if potential outcomes for philly but i think it was p much a no brainer, it wldve been better to get someone closer to embiids age but its not like u just have yr pick of jimmy caliber players, of course in a couple years he cld easily be an injured bully making 30m a year

Yeah all exactly otm I know I said I’d avoid jimmy but if I was running the sixers getting him for 2 ok dudes and flotsam is a go 10/10 times, risk of it going bad included

gritty tigger reboot (agent hibachi), Monday, 12 November 2018 11:46 (seven years ago)

I also think Embiid is a much stronger personality and much more likely to either get along with jimmy or at least work a well with him on court even if they dislike each other than KAT

gritty tigger reboot (agent hibachi), Monday, 12 November 2018 11:47 (seven years ago)

I watched the lakers game because I haven’t figured out how to overcome blackout restrictions in denver. Lebron looked incredibly old and at times kind of pathetic. He ISO’d on Omari Spellman like 6 times and I think he succeeded once.

Matt Armstrong, Monday, 12 November 2018 16:01 (seven years ago)

I feel like Trae Young will settle in to being just a good nba starting point guard. No revolutionary scoring machine, pretty flawed but not bad at all.

Matt Armstrong, Monday, 12 November 2018 16:02 (seven years ago)

yeah hate to say it but I do wonder if we're about to get a bunch of "have we forgotten what a dominant force of nature Lebron was just ONE YEAR AGO?" articles in the next couple months

frogbs, Monday, 12 November 2018 16:06 (seven years ago)

hes looked really lazy this year, but it may just be his body not letting him do things. seems like he settles for that step back three way too much. h

Spottie, Monday, 12 November 2018 16:08 (seven years ago)

Nice to see Millsap look like a living human again

Matt Armstrong, Monday, 12 November 2018 17:57 (seven years ago)

being a living human kicks ass

ciderpress, Monday, 12 November 2018 18:05 (seven years ago)

It’s funny how Mo Bamba has been so good but Vucevic for 13 games has essentially been a superstar

Matt Armstrong, Monday, 12 November 2018 18:06 (seven years ago)

he's surely a trade candidate right?

Spottie, Monday, 12 November 2018 18:12 (seven years ago)

Yeah but I can’t figure out where he’d go

Matt Armstrong, Monday, 12 November 2018 18:16 (seven years ago)

I'll take him

ciderpress, Monday, 12 November 2018 18:29 (seven years ago)

iguodala for vucevic works ;-)

reggae mike love (polyphonic), Monday, 12 November 2018 18:29 (seven years ago)

KCP for Vuc was my pre Tyson Chandler trade thinking.

He'd fit good in New Orleans but that would p much be for picks.

I like Poeltls (fionnland), Monday, 12 November 2018 18:33 (seven years ago)

How about the Nets? He'd make sense with Allen I think.

reggae mike love (polyphonic), Monday, 12 November 2018 18:37 (seven years ago)

I can't see the Nets giving up their first own pick in forever and they'll want to keep any young talent Orlando would want in return.

I like Poeltls (fionnland), Monday, 12 November 2018 18:40 (seven years ago)

how about the spurs?

reggae mike love (polyphonic), Monday, 12 November 2018 18:43 (seven years ago)

See that would be beautiful if they want Pau Gasol's contact in return and a first rounder plus a second (and Vuc commits to re sign)

Though long term I'm guessing they're pretty high on developing Poeltl? And LA plays plenty minutes there anyway.

I like Poeltls (fionnland), Monday, 12 November 2018 18:49 (seven years ago)

Not like a Spurs first rounder is gonna have that much value anyway, esp w Vuc. Maybe Bertans? But spurs might need his spacing so I really don't know

I like Poeltls (fionnland), Monday, 12 November 2018 18:51 (seven years ago)

never trade my perfect vegan angel of splash Davis Bertans

21st savagery fox (m bison), Monday, 12 November 2018 18:58 (seven years ago)

Red rocket 2.0

I like Poeltls (fionnland), Monday, 12 November 2018 18:59 (seven years ago)

Bertans can't be traded until midseason anyway.

Gasol/Mills for Vucevic/Mozgov works. Mozgov only has two years left on his bad deal. Taking his salary might negate the picks issue.

reggae mike love (polyphonic), Monday, 12 November 2018 19:02 (seven years ago)

pass

21st savagery fox (m bison), Monday, 12 November 2018 19:21 (seven years ago)

not sure there are many contending teams who need a player like vucevic... maybe houston?

J0rdan S., Monday, 12 November 2018 20:28 (seven years ago)

yeah i mean hes a center who cant defend

lag∞n, Monday, 12 November 2018 20:34 (seven years ago)

yeah unless some match up falls right he's the kind of player who only plays 15-20 mins in a playoff game... the magic might as well try and get rid of him but i can't imagine them getting much back

J0rdan S., Monday, 12 November 2018 20:43 (seven years ago)

“I haven’t changed anything outwardly, but you know me. You know how I am. I almost cracked [last week]. I had to sit back and remind myself, ‘(Expletive), you knew what you were getting yourself into,’” James told Yahoo Sports while laughing after Saturday’s win in Sacramento. “This process has been good for me. I just have to continue being patient.”‬

Spottie, Monday, 12 November 2018 21:09 (seven years ago)

the lakers are a journey

lag∞n, Monday, 12 November 2018 21:11 (seven years ago)

dude is about to snap one month into a 4 year journey, not a good sign.. good for max messy drama tho

Spottie, Monday, 12 November 2018 21:15 (seven years ago)

just thinking about when andrew wiggins and jabari parker were the top prospects in the anticipated best draft ever heh

lag∞n, Monday, 12 November 2018 21:39 (seven years ago)

embiid went 3rd, excluding him the over under for total allstar appearances by that draft is prob 1.5

lag∞n, Monday, 12 November 2018 21:41 (seven years ago)

*o shit i missed jokic at #41

lag∞n, Monday, 12 November 2018 21:43 (seven years ago)

some quality starters/ role players in that first round but yeah

Spottie, Monday, 12 November 2018 22:06 (seven years ago)

yeah def a bunch of guys who get minutes in there

lag∞n, Monday, 12 November 2018 22:14 (seven years ago)

side note, who here pays for nba league pass? specifically thinking of dipping in this year and getting the one-team pass, but i can't tell how many games will be blacked out. tonight's game is (was gonna pick philly), but it doesn't say ANY games are blacked out in the future, so i am guessing the blackouts don't show up until later?

vote no on ilxit (Will M.), Monday, 12 November 2018 22:31 (seven years ago)

blackouts are national games which u can watch if you have espn tnt abc, and if you live in the philly area all the sixer broadcasts will be blacked out but again you can watch them on whatever local channel plays them if u have it

NBA League Pass Blackout Information
Why Do Blackouts Exist?
Blackout restrictions exist because local and national content providers have certain exclusive rights to televise live content.

What Games Are Affected By Blackouts?
Live, locally televised games are not available for viewing live on NBA League Pass. Blackout restrictions include your local NBA team(s) and all nationally telecast games.

What Happens If I Change My Location?
If your location changes, your blackout restrictions for live, locally televised games may also change. Blackouts are specific to your current location.

How Does the NBA Determine My Location?
Your location is determined by your zip code (if watching via a satellite television provider), a combination of zip code and cable system distribution territory (if watching via a cable television provider), or by the IP address associated with your internet connection or your mobile device's GPS coordinates (if watching via your computer, phone, tablet or connected device). If you feel we have made a mistake, please contact customer support.

(streams)

reggae mike love (polyphonic), Monday, 12 November 2018 22:41 (seven years ago)

Fuck league pass imo. I did it for 2nd half of one season and instantly regretted it. Blackouts are some BS.

A True White Kid that can Jump (Granny Dainger), Monday, 12 November 2018 22:48 (seven years ago)

the youtubetv + league pass option is pretty tight, tho expensive, but not if you split it w pals

lag∞n, Monday, 12 November 2018 22:51 (seven years ago)

having dvr makes it way better than streams imho

lag∞n, Monday, 12 November 2018 22:51 (seven years ago)

I've paid for League Pass the last two seasons. The main reason I paid for it, as opposed to just finding a stream, was for the replay of games the morning after. Now I don't have enough time to watch replays to make it worth it (okay I actually cancelled my subscription in a rage when Boogie joined the Dubs, but the above reasoning is why I haven't resubscribed).

No blackouts because I'm in Europe so can't help you there (run a VPN?).

Also, I can't believe they haven't added a proper archive yet. Say they added all the playoff games from 1988 onwards - hot damn I might pay 1.5 times the current price for access to that.

I like Poeltls (fionnland), Monday, 12 November 2018 23:07 (seven years ago)

i'm basically ok with league pass but the nbatv games are also blacked out, which is complete b.s. i can't get nbatv via cable in my town even if i wanted to.

call all destroyer, Monday, 12 November 2018 23:26 (seven years ago)

i\m in montreal so i'm not worried about local blackouts, guess i gotta look up how many of their games will be on national tv -- is that determined start of season? or like week ot week or something?

lol im so spoiled by mlb.tv in canada (i think... nothing is nblacked out?) that this is just shocking to me. i don't have cable so this is how i do sports

vote no on ilxit (Will M.), Monday, 12 November 2018 23:28 (seven years ago)

http://www.sportsmediawatch.com/nba-tv-schedule/

there are 39 national sixers games per another site i found

call all destroyer, Monday, 12 November 2018 23:56 (seven years ago)

national tv schedule is released before the season but subject to change at their whim, which means they put the sweet games on there if they feel like it, not sure how many national games they show a week in canada but def some you want to watch will be blacked out especially since philly is a good team cursory googling suggests that all games on TSN and/or Sportsnet are blacked out in canada

https://sports.yahoo.com/move-western-conference-east-now-nbas-beast-204426163.html

the takes are coming in fairly hot

Clay, Tuesday, 13 November 2018 01:43 (seven years ago)

the national tv schedule also gets better after xmas. since teams have a cap on the number of times they can be on tv, the best teams get more national tv games as the season goes on. i think it's light at the beginning when football is still on basically.

J0rdan S., Tuesday, 13 November 2018 02:08 (seven years ago)

the east sucks ass still sorry

ciderpress, Tuesday, 13 November 2018 02:17 (seven years ago)

if you put the warriors aside i think the raptors and bucks have been better than any team in the west. and i think i trust both the celtics and sixers more than the blazers and/or nuggets. and i think what happened to houston's roster is kinda scary. they're super thin... though i do think their 5 of cp3-harden-gordon-tucker-capela is as strong against the warriors as anybody. but if cp gets hurt again i dunno. they have like 7 nba players on their roster.
