It’s weird jimmy butler is exceptionally good at basketball and plays really hard and between him scorching two teams and his age and injury history I would not go anywhere near him

And I realize on last years thread I was really disappointed the cs did not go after him before signing Hayward

Covington & saric are two really solid role players who would be great to arrange around two star players except the wolves have one and he’s not that interested in trying hard and their coach is a huge negative now

yeah this deal def has a uh wide range if potential outcomes for philly but i think it was p much a no brainer, it wldve been better to get someone closer to embiids age but its not like u just have yr pick of jimmy caliber players, of course in a couple years he cld easily be an injured bully making 30m a year

but his offense is pretty much exactly what philly needs

their dirty lil secret is theyre awful in the halfcourt, which is how u can win 20 games in a row then get smoked by al horford and rookies

4got about the bucks! yeah, philly as the 4th seed would have been a disappointing peak. but butler at least opens the possibility of eastern conference contention. for like 2 years max.

btw I like the jimmy deal a lot more for the sixers than for the wolves...you could make the argument that those 4 first rounders they possibly could have gotten from houston were unlikely to yield a player as good as saric or covington, but...what is the plan? those are 2 solid players but it seems like they're consigning themselves to mediocrity in the medium-term now. if you trade for the picks you can at least hope to get lucky with one of them or even have them to flip for another star down the road. now they're just gonna be a borderline playoff team for the next few years
