nobody could have seen that coming.

Rockets lost again and Chris Paul looks like he’s about to go in the oven. That contract may sink the rockets.

Spottie, Sunday, 11 November 2018 04:18 (seven years ago)

cp3 is so far past his expect expiration date its ridiculous and when the wheels come off w guys like him they come off fast

lag∞n, Sunday, 11 November 2018 04:22 (seven years ago)

guess i did not realize dude turns 34 this spring

Clay, Sunday, 11 November 2018 04:24 (seven years ago)

jesus he's shooting 30-27-78 so far this year yikes

Clay, Sunday, 11 November 2018 04:25 (seven years ago)

thereve been some exceptional slow starts this year (most of them on the celtics)

lag∞n, Sunday, 11 November 2018 04:29 (seven years ago)

Maybe you shouldn't sign a max deal with the guy who changed the rules so he could get a max deal even though he was too old under prior rules.

EZ Snappin, Sunday, 11 November 2018 04:29 (seven years ago)

they came sooooo close last year tho

lag∞n, Sunday, 11 November 2018 04:30 (seven years ago)

rockets are in disarray imo. spurs are missing like 5 guys and demar was shooting p bad, and the rox still never really challenged them.

derrick white in his second game: 14 pts, 8 ast, 4 reb, 2 stls. great playmaking; a lot of those 8 asts were tough needle-threading passes. great d on switches, kept a hand in the face of shooters without risking fouls. once dejounte murray is healthy next year, these two are going to stifle a lot of backcourts and make a killing in transition.

21st savagery fox (m bison), Sunday, 11 November 2018 04:33 (seven years ago)

this is truly an era of exceptionally ludicrous contracts

Clay, Sunday, 11 November 2018 04:33 (seven years ago)

Derrick White looked niiice today. Spurs make a lot more sense if that’s gonna be his normal type of production.

Spottie, Sunday, 11 November 2018 04:33 (seven years ago)

lol what the hell

Joel Embiid talked with Karl-Anthony Towns and Andrew Wiggins about Jimmy Butler. "They thought that we were definitely going to get along," Embiid told ESPN. "He wants to win. Wiggs told me that he thought that we were going to win the East for sure."

he played exactly the sort of game i expected him to based on his g league/summer league play. he's made a few rookie errors here and there, but he's just got a lot of skill in a lot of areas, lots of little things that are valuable in the league today (closeout defense, switching, intercepting passing lanes, sharp passes, lobs, playing in pnr, outside shooting). he is basically sliding right into manu's role, and what he lacks in experience he upgrades in terms of athleticism.

xp

lakers are beating the kings but even if they win the kings will still have a better record ha

lag∞n, Sunday, 11 November 2018 04:51 (seven years ago)

honestly the messiest trade idea i can think of is the rockets should trade chris paul to the lakers. rockets might just miss the playoffs and they are stuck with a huge payroll moving forward. cp3 will only get worse. lakers should do it bc the big names might not be there this summer. rockets should do it to not pay luxury tax on a floundering team and get as much value on cp3 before he craters. anyway thats my ted talk. ps - lakers should keep rondo in this deal for max drama.

21st savagery fox (m bison), Sunday, 11 November 2018 04:57 (seven years ago)

rondo and cp3 shd have to be roommates too and lebron is their landlord

lag∞n, Sunday, 11 November 2018 05:00 (seven years ago)

RONDO HAS DONE IT!!!

Finally gets an opposing player to give him a high five at the foul line pic.twitter.com/bySRcfWU5H

im not enthused by the jimmy trade for either team. i would like it for the sixers except for the part where you have to give jimmy a $185 million contract or whatever it's gonna be. some of the concerns upthread are valid but also i think stuff about fit and whatever is overblown. those are 3 legitimate all star players. my one big concern is just the way jimmy has left both of his teams.

for the wolves i think it's pretty wack... saric is a good player but i don't think makes sense on the wolves, and you have to pay him a big contract in 2 years. idk what offers were still on the table but i think josh richardson is better than him and is on a better contract. but they might've had to take back a bad contract in return.

J0rdan S., Sunday, 11 November 2018 06:15 (seven years ago)

It's the Wolves

Greta Van Fleek (upper mississippi sh@kedown), Sunday, 11 November 2018 13:34 (seven years ago)

I love that rondo has been on this quest to get opposing high fives and hang out in opposing huddles for literally years

gritty tigger reboot (agent hibachi), Sunday, 11 November 2018 16:02 (seven years ago)

It’s weird jimmy butler is exceptionally good at basketball and plays really hard and between him scorching two teams and his age and injury history I would not go anywhere near him

And I realize on last years thread I was really disappointed the cs did not go after him before signing Hayward

gritty tigger reboot (agent hibachi), Sunday, 11 November 2018 16:03 (seven years ago)

Covington & saric are two really solid role players who would be great to arrange around two star players except the wolves have one and he’s not that interested in trying hard and their coach is a huge negative now

yeah this deal def has a uh wide range if potential outcomes for philly but i think it was p much a no brainer, it wldve been better to get someone closer to embiids age but its not like u just have yr pick of jimmy caliber players, of course in a couple years he cld easily be an injured bully making 30m a year

lag∞n, Sunday, 11 November 2018 19:09 (seven years ago)

but his offense is pretty much exactly what philly needs

lag∞n, Sunday, 11 November 2018 19:10 (seven years ago)

their dirty lil secret is theyre awful in the halfcourt, which is how u can win 20 games in a row then get smoked by al horford and rookies

lag∞n, Sunday, 11 November 2018 19:17 (seven years ago)

..........ben simmons is awful in the halfcourt

lag∞n, Sunday, 11 November 2018 19:28 (seven years ago)

yeah, philly was gonna be stuck in limbo behind c's and raps without making a splash. theyre gonna need some help from the bench tho. xxp

21st savagery fox (m bison), Sunday, 11 November 2018 19:39 (seven years ago)

philly clearly getting passed by the bucks would have been the trigger for me, as it clearly was for them.

call all destroyer, Sunday, 11 November 2018 20:54 (seven years ago)

too many clearlys, sorry i’m on vacation.

call all destroyer, Sunday, 11 November 2018 20:59 (seven years ago)

clearly

lag∞n, Sunday, 11 November 2018 21:42 (seven years ago)

4got about the bucks! yeah, philly as the 4th seed would have been a disappointing peak. but butler at least opens the possibility of eastern conference contention. for like 2 years max.

21st savagery fox (m bison), Sunday, 11 November 2018 22:05 (seven years ago)

The Rockets have denied they are waiving Carmelo Anthony, but two sources close to the situation say Anthony has been informed that his brief time with the team will soon be ending. Anthony has been listed as "out" for Houston's game tonight against Indiana due to illness

Melo had a good run, if you judge him purely by his stats and his salary.

A is for (Aimless), Sunday, 11 November 2018 22:10 (seven years ago)

ciderpress, Sunday, 11 November 2018 22:38 (seven years ago)

lag∞n, Sunday, 11 November 2018 22:44 (seven years ago)

it's the Evan Turner cup.

EZ Snappin, Sunday, 11 November 2018 22:48 (seven years ago)

one weird thing about melos career is he had so many stalwart defenders but was never that fun to watch

lag∞n, Sunday, 11 November 2018 22:52 (seven years ago)

Does he have any signature ‘moments’? Can’t recall a singular play or game or hot streak or dunk or w/e else.

Spottie, Sunday, 11 November 2018 22:56 (seven years ago)

his peak was prob winning march madness

lag∞n, Sunday, 11 November 2018 22:59 (seven years ago)

I remember when he did that cowardly hit
n run in that one fight.

Spottie, Sunday, 11 November 2018 23:04 (seven years ago)

took it to 7 against the lakers in the wcf like 10 years ago

brimstead, Sunday, 11 November 2018 23:06 (seven years ago)

micah, Sunday, 11 November 2018 23:39 (seven years ago)

Hah yup. And yeah I remember that 2009(?) run but more for Chauncey being the most important player on that team. Don’t remember that one going 7 vs the lakers.

Spottie, Monday, 12 November 2018 00:12 (seven years ago)

Juancho finally starting, Hope I was right about this

Matt Armstrong, Monday, 12 November 2018 00:36 (seven years ago)

that series only went 6 games, was also the birthplace of "nuggets will win the nba playoffs" iirc because the celtics were out at that point

ciderpress, Monday, 12 November 2018 00:41 (seven years ago)

jesus that was a fast end to the melo experiment
