I called the whole Jabari Parker thing

Matt Armstrong, Friday, 9 November 2018 18:07 (seven years ago)

But Butler is averaging 35.6 MPG in his nine games to date. He has only landed below 32 minutes twice -- opening night and a blowout L to Milwaukee. Butler logged nearly 40 minutes in Monday's road L to the Clippers that I attended, then 43 minutes in Wednesday's L to the Lakers https://t.co/TQCEHoaZUu

J0rdan S., Friday, 9 November 2018 20:33 (seven years ago)

i had not realized until i read this post that the jabari thing was going so bad already

J0rdan S., Friday, 9 November 2018 20:33 (seven years ago)

I love watching Jabari Parker but when it comes to winning games he is poison

Matt Armstrong, Friday, 9 November 2018 21:11 (seven years ago)

Mo Bamba should have gone top 3

Matt Armstrong, Saturday, 10 November 2018 00:34 (seven years ago)

im watching tony parker play for the hornets

lag∞n, Saturday, 10 November 2018 01:42 (seven years ago)

big bounceback game from jokic. kind of annoying how he can pretty much do this whenever he wants but chooses not to

k3vin k., Saturday, 10 November 2018 04:10 (seven years ago)

He needs a sports psychologist

Spottie, Saturday, 10 November 2018 04:34 (seven years ago)

Pretty rough loss for the nuggs

Spottie, Saturday, 10 November 2018 04:35 (seven years ago)

yeah fucking awful

k3vin k., Saturday, 10 November 2018 05:16 (seven years ago)

Oh man philly is gonna get jimmy

Spottie, Saturday, 10 November 2018 17:48 (seven years ago)

Just read this. Holy fuck outta nowhere

I like Poeltls (fionnland), Saturday, 10 November 2018 17:51 (seven years ago)

For Saric and Covington and a pick!

I like Poeltls (fionnland), Saturday, 10 November 2018 17:53 (seven years ago)

wow interesting

lag∞n, Saturday, 10 November 2018 17:54 (seven years ago)

wonder if jimmy will be on best behavior i hope not a feud w simmons has a lot of potential

lag∞n, Saturday, 10 November 2018 17:59 (seven years ago)

that pick is only a second rounder, the market for jimmy wasnt exactly burning up i guess

lag∞n, Saturday, 10 November 2018 18:02 (seven years ago)

this seals fultzs fate, out of the league within 3 years

lag∞n, Saturday, 10 November 2018 18:08 (seven years ago)

trying to think of a more blatantly combustable big 3 and drawing a blank

Jimmy Butler and the Sixers fully expect to reach a deal on a long-term contract this summer, league sources tell ESPN. Sixers made deal with plans to add Butler to a Big Three with Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons.

I think it works. Those guys all work hard and seem to care about winning

Spottie, Saturday, 10 November 2018 18:20 (seven years ago)

today's slate of games is....really bad

ciderpress, Saturday, 10 November 2018 18:22 (seven years ago)

10 games of team i'm okay with vs. team i do not wish to look at

ciderpress, Saturday, 10 November 2018 18:22 (seven years ago)

simmons is a sulking loner whos useless w/o the ball in his hands, embiid is a goofball who just does whatever he feels like out there, and jimmy is a ball domineering boss from hell, seems pretty dicey/not a perfect basketball fit

lag∞n, Saturday, 10 November 2018 18:24 (seven years ago)

That’s pretty reductive. Embiid has been so good this year, and legit cares about defense as compared to Karl Anthony Bennet. 76ers lost some depth tho.

Spottie, Saturday, 10 November 2018 18:28 (seven years ago)

joel is def tearing it up but hes also still shooting 4 3s a game at 30%

lag∞n, Saturday, 10 November 2018 18:31 (seven years ago)

simmons is obvs the much bigger concern tho

lag∞n, Saturday, 10 November 2018 18:31 (seven years ago)

Ehh, Simmons being a loner leaves less room for friction with Jimmy. The benefits of Embiid doing whatever he feels like far outweigh the downsides. I think jimmy is more flexible as a player than you’re giving him credit for.

All the same I too am skeptical about the fit but I don’t think Jimmy makes them worse

tsrobodo, Saturday, 10 November 2018 18:34 (seven years ago)

C'mon Cider. Clippers v Bucks is gonna be competitive I bet, as will Grizz-76ers with Big Bob Cov and Saric missing. Also you can enjoy watching the Wizards continue to implode and Hassan Whiteside is balling out atm. Hoping Houston continue poor form v Spurs but I reckon they will have a big performances between Harden and CP3 tonight. Kings Lakers will be a fun fast, fast paced game.

Sure I would miss Bulls-Cavs and Pistons-Hornets - don't blame ya there.

I like Poeltls (fionnland), Saturday, 10 November 2018 18:34 (seven years ago)

i understand why philly is doing this but it’s a pretty shaky fit.

call all destroyer, Saturday, 10 November 2018 18:36 (seven years ago)

jimmys a real good basketball player but the sixers arent seeming less like a fantasy team after this

lag∞n, Saturday, 10 November 2018 18:37 (seven years ago)

i mean i wldve def done this deal if i were them, but also i was already highly skeptical of their core

lag∞n, Saturday, 10 November 2018 18:38 (seven years ago)

i don't think it pushes them above their existing status of 4th best east team

ciderpress, Saturday, 10 November 2018 18:39 (seven years ago)

idk ill be curious to see i think there is some potential there i mean jimmy can really play and the guys they gave up were nothing special, obvs the fit and personalities are kinda weird and incorporating a star mid season is hard, wld also really not be surprised if the whole thing crashed and burned also, the biggest question for me is what is simmons going to do while jimmys dribbling

lag∞n, Saturday, 10 November 2018 18:43 (seven years ago)

yeah this makes simmons seem like the odd man out, and fultz seem like the man that was never even in.

call all destroyer, Saturday, 10 November 2018 18:45 (seven years ago)

fultz was already in trouble really just looking like not an nba player

lag∞n, Saturday, 10 November 2018 18:45 (seven years ago)

jimmy/simmons/embiid is really rough for spacing purposes.

call all destroyer, Saturday, 10 November 2018 18:50 (seven years ago)

they shd......... trade ben

lag∞n, Saturday, 10 November 2018 18:52 (seven years ago)

cause joel-jimmy cld actually be pretty cool

lag∞n, Saturday, 10 November 2018 18:53 (seven years ago)

in retrospect, it seems crazy that so many 'experts' rated fultz so highly before the draft

A is for (Aimless), Saturday, 10 November 2018 18:54 (seven years ago)

give them a break, they just didn't notice he couldn't play basketball is all

ciderpress, Saturday, 10 November 2018 18:56 (seven years ago)

yeah a team with joel/jimmy and some spacers/defenders could be a tank.

call all destroyer, Saturday, 10 November 2018 18:58 (seven years ago)

Their 2 biggest issues are horrible spacing/lack of shooting and being dogshit when Embiid isn’t on the floor.

Jimmy doesn’t directly address either of those issues and they just lost 2 shooters. but they do finally have a valid pnr option to go to which should help Embiid somewhat.

I think either they steamroll teams with their best lineups or Simmons and Fultzs’ issues become overexposed and they regress.

tsrobodo, Saturday, 10 November 2018 18:58 (seven years ago)

No one can predict the yips xps

Spottie, Saturday, 10 November 2018 19:02 (seven years ago)

Funnily enough I think the most significant potential blowing up point rests with how jimmy deals with the fultz situation. Everyone in philly seems rabidly protective of Fultz and if he dares to pontificate on his mentality the way he did Wiggins and KAT I don’t think he ever recovers from his heel turn
