J0rdan S., Saturday, 27 October 2018 01:45 (seven years ago)

i'm intrigued by the hornets. i like some of the lineups their new coach is using.

In retrospect, it all makes sense that we'd have to be punished for making the playoffs for the first time in years by becoming an even bigger clown show that we could have imagined

Greta Van Fleek (upper mississippi sh@kedown), Saturday, 27 October 2018 02:02 (seven years ago)

- jord - Britt Robson, Jon Krasynski, Canis Hoopus, A Wolf Among Wolves, Punch Drunk Wolves are all good Twitter follows

Greta Van Fleek (upper mississippi sh@kedown), Saturday, 27 October 2018 02:04 (seven years ago)

some notes through the first week and change:

-celtics are still the best defense but at the bottom on offense so far along with okc
-spurs are the worst defense (!)
-huge jump in 3pt attempts for the bucks
-pace is up considerably across the board. lakers playing a much higher pace so far than any past lebron team iirc
-cavs are not good at anything

ciderpress, Saturday, 27 October 2018 02:22 (seven years ago)

would not expect the spurs defense to improve much with their current roster tbh

micah, Saturday, 27 October 2018 02:31 (seven years ago)

wild finish to nets/pels

micah, Saturday, 27 October 2018 02:32 (seven years ago)

spurs PG defense is really, really bad.

the guys who would be more versatile defensively (can switch on screens etc) are...murray, walker, and white. they're all injured. the rest of their guys are not world-beating defenders (aldridge is v good tho). the defense should improve when white (and later walker) comes back bc he's a big young guard. but yeah. it's rough.

21st savagery fox (m bison), Saturday, 27 October 2018 02:35 (seven years ago)

well the rockets look bad

k3vin k., Saturday, 27 October 2018 03:00 (seven years ago)

yeah i find bad defense by your own team more frustrating to watch than bad offense

micah, Saturday, 27 October 2018 03:03 (seven years ago)

4th quarter was nuts in NY. Down by 10 to up by 28.

lag∞n, Saturday, 27 October 2018 04:43 (seven years ago)

whattya call someone who makes 40% of their shots in basketball? mediocre
whattya call someone who hits 40% of their at-bats? a historically good hitter

and that my friends why baseball is a bad sport

21st savagery fox (m bison), Saturday, 27 October 2018 04:56 (seven years ago)

wizards

Bradley Beal and John Wall both said there are guys complaining about their own shots and not defending. Both spoke about it extensively. Quotes coming soon.

micah, Saturday, 27 October 2018 11:12 (seven years ago)

pacers shot 11/11 in the first 9 minutes but only have 2 dreb total (!) and have given up 6 oreb.

Look at the box score. It was pretty balanced. Blake, as he does, tanked us. He played 30 minutes! Theis scored 17 on us. It’s embarassing.

Allen (etaeoe), Sunday, 28 October 2018 01:43 (seven years ago)

lebron will proles pass kobe in total points scored early next season

micah, Sunday, 28 October 2018 02:29 (seven years ago)

What is going on with Kyrie

Machine Gunk Jelly (Spottie), Sunday, 28 October 2018 03:08 (seven years ago)

celtics seem like they're trying to figure stuff out :/

21st savagery fox (m bison), Sunday, 28 October 2018 03:27 (seven years ago)

btw, spurs defense looked presentable, limited la lakers to 18 pts in the 4q. demar with the 30-12-8 line. kawhi is obviously the better player, but demar is more fun to watch in halfcourt offense.

my nickname for demar-rudy gay-lemarcus is "midrange a trois" this works best if u say midrange in an affected french accent like "mid-RAWNJ" thank u.

21st savagery fox (m bison), Sunday, 28 October 2018 03:29 (seven years ago)

celtics finally but together a dece offensive game, feel like when theyre playing well on either side of the ball theyre just kinda easy and solid, like theyre not a swarming dominant D but they contest every shot, likewise on offense with ball movement its not hard for them to find good looks since they have so many guys, they dont really need fireworks with the depth of skill they have on that team, kinda thinking one of the —keys— to this season is kyrie being more of a facilitator which is something he can easily do but has not wanted to in the past, they just have so many guys its kinda silly for him to force those degree of difficulty shots, he created 3 or 4 wide open threes tonight just by driving and kicking in semi transition, feel like he cld do that then take over in the fourth when necessary which is a classic approach since youve conserved energy through the first 3 quarters and the defense doesnt really have time to adjust to you turning shifting into scoring mode

also the rookie rob williams checked into the game for the first time in the 4th w the celtics up by ~20 and they ran this play for him

Robert Williams checks in and does this. What a play btw pic.twitter.com/RMk7nW3zyO

a def sign of how the nba has changed is a guy with his physical gifts slipping to the bottom of the 1st round

lag∞n, Sunday, 28 October 2018 04:19 (seven years ago)

10-15 years ago hes going top 10 just based on being a super bouncy 7fter

maybe he needs drama to thrive

lag∞n, Sunday, 28 October 2018 04:52 (seven years ago)

uhh

Giannis said he blacked out after taking elbow to head. Doesn’t remember much from game but said all tests for concussions were OK and he was allowed back out in fourth.

rip ty lue

call all destroyer, Sunday, 28 October 2018 15:43 (seven years ago)

ha whats even the point of that

lag∞n, Sunday, 28 October 2018 15:54 (seven years ago)

Lue should feel blessed. Whatever his next gig is it’ll be better than coaching that team for that owner

EZ Snappin, Sunday, 28 October 2018 15:57 (seven years ago)

true

lag∞n, Sunday, 28 October 2018 15:58 (seven years ago)

And by getting fired he gets all his money

EZ Snappin, Sunday, 28 October 2018 15:59 (seven years ago)

Isn’t Ty Lue’s buy out now like 13M after he signed the contract after they won the title? So he’ll get 13M to not have to work for Dan Gilbert anymore? That’s a pretty big win, to me.
