based on nothing but the rare ncaa game i take in i think maybe part of the problem is that college ball sucks and is getting worse

watching the lakers in person the vibe i picked up was "team of dudes that hate each other" but it was the first game of the season and they had basically never played together before so hard to really put much stock in it xps

don't think the lakers issue will be chemistry seems like a talent issue

they were such a hard team to project but to me the way lebron could elevate an east team with mediocre talent was unlikely to transfer fully to the west; also i just don't like most of the other lakers players. like what is actually good about brandon ingram? i haven't been able to figure it out.

I mean what do they do well exactly besides having 50 year old lebron

ingram was really very good the second half of last season, a lot of which oddly he played point guard

people were predicting 3 seed for them with a straight face it was amazing. they're gonna start 4-9 or something disgusting like that

yeah that seems like his best skill, so he's a tall/weak forward/pg hybrid which is not really 2nd-best player material

and his cleveland teams have at least had somewhat competent role players e.g. korver, frye, j.r., delly etc for him to pass out to instead of a bunch of non-shooting weirdos

b/c you have to play him at center because you made a team with one center who is a borderline nba player

but sure they’ll have a home series in the freaking west LOL

the weirdness of the west 3-7 last year threw some people off the trail but i do think the west has a clear top 4 this year and the lakers.....are not in it
