I've been to all Bulls games at Phoenix since 2012-13 season. Last season was 1st one where Bulls fans didn't completely overwhelm Suns fans, vocally and in quantity. Curious to see if that reverses this season. Obv that depends on how well each team does leading up to it(I think the game this season is in March).

Question from a noob: is Towns really a liability at defence? Looking over at basketball reference, his DBPM is way higher than noted two way player Butler, his defensive shares ranks 24th in the entire NBA.

It depends on which stat you look at. He's extremely bad in defensive real plus minus (DRPM), and was even worse the previous year. But he was around 11th among centers in defensive win shares last year. I see him as sort of middle of the pack.

hes a good rebounder right? rebounding bumps up the numbers a bit. but just watch him. he gets burned back door and caught being lazy all the time... and just not aggressive.

this is from the beginning of last season but it has lots of other stats where kat doesn't come out looking good. i believe the consensus is that he improved during the year but still has a long way to go.

kat's footwork in that video is horrendous.

you can't compare DBPM across positions really, as rebounding is a huge component of defense

it's just completely dumb based on box score as the name implies and so forth

box plus minus is an irrelevant stat in 2018 imo
