fwiw the butler trade went down before the celtics signed hayward so the story might be bs or maybe the celtics already knew they were gonna get him idk

iirc the explanation at the time for the celtics not getting butler is the bulls were asking too much and i think there was something about them wanting to wait til after free agency to trade, also didnt they try to trade for him at the deadline or maybe im confusing him with paul george

yeah, i think their primary concern was signing gordon and they wanted to hold off on all other business until that was done.

i was down with the celtics getting butler way back when they didn't have a complete roster but now i am against it
