jimmy is just a little too close to his decline years for me to be interested in acquiring him...lost in some of the drama in minn is that extending him isn't a slam dunk decision for that reason.

fwiw the butler trade went down before the celtics signed hayward so the story might be bs or maybe the celtics already knew they were gonna get him idk

iirc the explanation at the time for the celtics not getting butler is the bulls were asking too much and i think there was something about them wanting to wait til after free agency to trade, also didnt they try to trade for him at the deadline or maybe im confusing him with paul george
