yeah I didn't understand that first rule until last year, and still don't understand it tbh, seems like you can really awkwardly stumble off your pivot foot and still be legal as long as you don't put it down

yeah very strange. also had no idea that the gather step doesn't count as a step, that one they show of klay looks so much like a travel to me it's wild that it isn't.

I think about it like: you can always jump in the air no matter how many steps you've taken. so it follows that you can always lift a foot off the ground, whether its your pivot or not.

but you can essentially take a step!

Not before shooting or passing tho. It does seem like an unfair move. I remember practicing the up-n-under-to-1-foot-jumpshot last year and thinking I must be travelling; had my friend who played college ball watch me do it and we came to same conclusion as Nunn. Looks like a moving-pivot-foot travel but it ain't. You can cover so much ground by faking the fadeaway, then stepping thru and jumping across/into the lane to shoot.

I guess it's the difference between colloquial concept of a step and NBA rules concept of it

ive seen this sentiment around a bit and it doesnt scan to me i mean of course he cld leave but also he has a really good situation in boston and seems happy there too, legit shot at a ring the best coach prob the best org the team likes each other and so forth, like if they make the finals u really see him leaving? if they win a ring? i mean

honestly his injury history worries me more than the prospect of him leaving

The blazers were about two wins above a six or seven seed, iirc, so, no irreparable shame involved.

i'd go under on the clippers. that team is not constructed to compete and they only keep their 1st rounders this year and next if they miss the playoffs. they need to stfu and tank right now.

the west is gonna be wacky this year bc it's just like last year only now lebron is on the lakers. gsw and rox still tops, lakers, spurs, okc, and utah i think are the 3-6 seeds in some order, still feel like portland, NO, denver, and minny will duke it out for the final 2 spots.
