to put that in perspective though 900k is more than half his total career earnings to date and amounts to like 20% more than the Mavs deal.

Maybe hurts his future earnings playing in a dumpster fire but that shit isn't promised anyway.

tsrobodo, Saturday, 21 July 2018 08:40 (seven years ago)

he also got his second year guaranteed iirc

micah, Saturday, 21 July 2018 10:23 (seven years ago)

This is starting to feel deliberate

Free agent forward Michael Beasley has agreed to a deal with the Lakers, league source tells ESPN.

the meme team is real

micah, Saturday, 21 July 2018 11:34 (seven years ago)

Here are the 2017-18 offensive activity heatmaps for new Lakers Rajon Rondo, Lance Stephenson, JaVale McGee, and Michael Beasley. They're in gif form, but I'll post individual player charts in this thread. pic.twitter.com/4Uum2zq61b

Feel like a healthy Celtics team could beat the Warriors. They came real close in the winter.

DJI, Saturday, 21 July 2018 16:48 (seven years ago)

anybody watching the basketball tournament? somehow never really paid attention to this. it's cool seeing pros going up against former college players -- really shows you how good average to belo average NBA players are

k3vin k., Saturday, 21 July 2018 20:31 (seven years ago)

The average level of talent and ability in the NBA is insanely high. Some of the guys we consider NBA washouts or failures would be highly prized players in most other pro leagues or university programs.

A is for (Aimless), Saturday, 21 July 2018 21:49 (seven years ago)

xp where is the basketball tournament being broadcast?

call all destroyer, Saturday, 21 July 2018 23:33 (seven years ago)

ESPN3

k3vin k., Saturday, 21 July 2018 23:41 (seven years ago)

Haven’t watched that but been enjoying the big 3 this year

InfoWarriors (Spottie), Sunday, 22 July 2018 01:05 (seven years ago)

yo spottie tell me about alex len

Heez, Sunday, 22 July 2018 15:51 (seven years ago)

wasn't that one of matt A's favorites lol

k3vin k., Sunday, 22 July 2018 15:56 (seven years ago)

He’s got some skills but could never seem to string together a solid multi-game run. Foul prone for sure. Good shot blocker, good rebounder, good touch within 15 feet but gets pushed around easy and is way too soft. Needs to get pissed and smash on fools but chooses to do soft layups and let little bumps throw him off. The hawks contract is good value though. He’ll produce for sure and he’s generally always healthy. Entering his prime so whatever you see this year is probably what you’re gonna get.

InfoWarriors (Spottie), Sunday, 22 July 2018 17:46 (seven years ago)

sounds fine as a muscala replacement

Heez, Sunday, 22 July 2018 21:01 (seven years ago)

http://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/24165876/nba-power-rankings-how-lebron-james-kawhi-leonard-change-everything

the nuggets at #8 seems a bit optimistic to me, but not complaining

k3vin k., Monday, 23 July 2018 19:54 (seven years ago)

these clownshoes have the spurs missing the playoffs so of course i think they can eat cheeks and retire

21st savagery fox (m bison), Monday, 23 July 2018 19:59 (seven years ago)

Bold prediction time. The West will be a fucking bloodbath but Spurs and Nugs are making it. TWolves and Portland to miss it with Thibs getting fired in Jan. Not sure the Pels make it now either.

Minister of the Pillow (fionnland), Monday, 23 July 2018 20:20 (seven years ago)

Oops I meant to replace that with fudging, apologies for language.

Minister of the Pillow (fionnland), Monday, 23 July 2018 20:21 (seven years ago)

nuggets at 8 is baffling

call all destroyer, Monday, 23 July 2018 20:24 (seven years ago)

yeah honestly don't get it at all. their defense should be as bad as the offense is good....which should be really good

k3vin k., Monday, 23 July 2018 20:37 (seven years ago)

think the west 3-10 is gonna come down to who gets injured, outside of that seems like they're all gonna be within like 3 games of eachother.

InfoWarriors (Spottie), Monday, 23 July 2018 20:40 (seven years ago)

their defense should be as bad as the offense is good

A return to the days of coach Karl? They usually managed a playoff berth under him, but the offense had better be damned good.

A is for (Aimless), Monday, 23 July 2018 20:40 (seven years ago)

it was the best in the league in 2017 once jokic started playing. they have that level in them

k3vin k., Monday, 23 July 2018 20:49 (seven years ago)

the defense otoh terrifies me, esp with giving IT minutes

k3vin k., Monday, 23 July 2018 20:50 (seven years ago)

garry harris and millsap are the only two good defenders on that squad

InfoWarriors (Spottie), Monday, 23 July 2018 21:01 (seven years ago)

cavs and kings are probably gonna be my overs this year gotta wait and see projections tho

ciderpress, Monday, 23 July 2018 21:01 (seven years ago)

If Carmelo Anthony signs with the Rockets, @SportsLine projections DECREASE Houston’s championship chances from 4.8% to 3.9%. pic.twitter.com/srTl18ZJ8M

makes sense

marcos, Monday, 23 July 2018 22:00 (seven years ago)

lol

marcos, Monday, 23 July 2018 22:00 (seven years ago)

melo es malo

21st savagery fox (m bison), Monday, 23 July 2018 22:16 (seven years ago)

harsh on my melo.

EZ Snappin, Monday, 23 July 2018 22:18 (seven years ago)

popping in to say lol melo

Clay, Monday, 23 July 2018 22:20 (seven years ago)

I think melo needs to be added to a severely offensively challenged team to improve it at this point

ciderpress, Monday, 23 July 2018 22:30 (seven years ago)

Sacramento should have picked him up off wavers

EZ Snappin, Monday, 23 July 2018 22:47 (seven years ago)

it's possible melo is outright cooked... it's also possible he just had a bad year last year. i think this signing could work out esp for the money and given who else they could've gotten.

J0rdan S., Monday, 23 July 2018 22:54 (seven years ago)

it could totally work if he's willing to accept the role he needed to accept last season.

InfoWarriors (Spottie), Monday, 23 July 2018 23:10 (seven years ago)

counterpoint: melo is fuckin coooooooked
xp

21st savagery fox (m bison), Monday, 23 July 2018 23:10 (seven years ago)

like melo is going to look at this roster and say "im the 3rd best player on this team and i need some touches" and its a wrap, theyre winning 10 fewer games than last season

21st savagery fox (m bison), Monday, 23 July 2018 23:14 (seven years ago)

i get why houston does this move though because it's not a financial risk, but it is a huge opportunity cost.

21st savagery fox (m bison), Monday, 23 July 2018 23:16 (seven years ago)

think they're banking on CP being able to bring the most out of him.

InfoWarriors (Spottie), Monday, 23 July 2018 23:21 (seven years ago)

melo jab-stepping repeatedly 28 feet from the hoop while cp3 and harden wait around & not moving is def gonna be a delight

Clay, Monday, 23 July 2018 23:22 (seven years ago)

fits right into their offense tbf

InfoWarriors (Spottie), Monday, 23 July 2018 23:36 (seven years ago)

I look forward to Melo and Harden wing isolations for the 30+ games Chris Paul will inevitably miss.

EZ Snappin, Monday, 23 July 2018 23:39 (seven years ago)

drew "snake oil" hamlen back at it again

Palpable buzz is building around #76ers guard Markelle Fultz. One league source privy to Fultz's workouts w/famed hoops trained Drew Hanlen tells me Fultz's jumper is rebuilt and that a result, the 20-year-old guard is a completely different, vastly improved player.

— Jordan Schultz (@Schultz_Report) July 22, 2018

#PalpableBuzz

InfoWarriors (Spottie), Monday, 23 July 2018 23:43 (seven years ago)

I was wondering why my fingertips were vibrating.

A is for (Aimless), Monday, 23 July 2018 23:47 (seven years ago)

it's because of Fultz

ciderpress, Tuesday, 24 July 2018 00:55 (seven years ago)

#PalpableFultz

EZ Snappin, Tuesday, 24 July 2018 01:13 (seven years ago)

even in the absolute best case, completely different, vastly improved = the player he was when he was drafted minus two summers and one season of development
