kinda expected this. spurs are heavy at PG or at least combo guard. mills, murray, derrick white, lonnie walker might play some point, manu can play it if he's coming back. parker just had his worst season since his rookie year and will only decline further, yet he wants to play a bigger role. spurs could really only promise him a glorified assistant coach/player role from here on out.

in other words, he's leaving because the spurs ARE rebuilding.

he mentioned batum, former spurs assistant/current hornets coach borrego, and mj (his idol) as motivations. on top of the money and the role, that is.

I think players who sign with a new team understand that publically stating the reasons for your move does not require you to reveal what your real reasons were, but does require you to flatter the fans that theirs is a wonderful team that you will be thrilled to play for.

Some one on Bulls twitter says to let him go to free up cap space for 2019 so we can watch all the free agents sign somewhere else other than Chicago.

you're right that free agents aren't giving chicago a second glance right now, but signing contracts like that assure that they would remain that way for many years.

happy for him that he got a nice payday. not sure how good of a value that is if the spurs want to keep their powder dry. 50-50 call if the spurs match, i think they will and then spurs twitter will kill themselves.

Nurkic 4/48 to stay in PDX

I don’t hate that

4/48 sounds fine to me. Nurkic is young. he shows flashes of excellence, but he's unreliable. compared to the Meyers Leonard contract, this is sober good sense.
