i wonder if the spurs declined to offer him a contract as an olive branch to kawhi
― J0rdan S., Friday, 6 July 2018 19:30 (seven years ago)
spurs r falling apart man
― sprout god (lag∞n), Friday, 6 July 2018 19:31 (seven years ago)
he's not very good anymore
― ciderpress, Friday, 6 July 2018 19:45 (seven years ago)
Manu may hang it up too. End of an era
― Hall of Fam (Spottie), Friday, 6 July 2018 19:54 (seven years ago)
Time to rebuild.
― EZ Snappin, Friday, 6 July 2018 19:55 (seven years ago)
kinda expected this. spurs are heavy at PG or at least combo guard. mills, murray, derrick white, lonnie walker might play some point, manu can play it if he's coming back. parker just had his worst season since his rookie year and will only decline further, yet he wants to play a bigger role. spurs could really only promise him a glorified assistant coach/player role from here on out.
― 21st savagery fox (m bison), Friday, 6 July 2018 21:59 (seven years ago)
in other words, he's leaving because the spurs ARE rebuilding.
― 21st savagery fox (m bison), Friday, 6 July 2018 22:02 (seven years ago)
btw manu cannot retire
― 21st savagery fox (m bison), Friday, 6 July 2018 22:04 (seven years ago)
Manu can’t retire. I need there to be NBA players older than me. That means I still have a chance.
― Jeff, Friday, 6 July 2018 22:10 (seven years ago)
wonder how much his relationship with nic batum influenced this move
― Clay, Friday, 6 July 2018 22:39 (seven years ago)
the hornets french retirement community
― sprout god (lag∞n), Friday, 6 July 2018 22:41 (seven years ago)
he mentioned batum, former spurs assistant/current hornets coach borrego, and mj (his idol) as motivations. on top of the money and the role, that is.
― 21st savagery fox (m bison), Friday, 6 July 2018 22:56 (seven years ago)
I think players who sign with a new team understand that publically stating the reasons for your move does not require you to reveal what your real reasons were, but does require you to flatter the fans that theirs is a wonderful team that you will be thrilled to play for.
― A is for (Aimless), Friday, 6 July 2018 23:03 (seven years ago)
players like hanging out with friends and having a good time

Marc J. Spears @MarcJSpearsESPN2mAfter being “disappointed” in the Bulls, Bulls restricted free agent Zach LaVine tells @TheUndefeated he has signed a four-year, $78 million contract with the Kings.
THE KINGS
― 21st savagery fox (m bison), Saturday, 7 July 2018 00:01 (seven years ago)
bulls would be smart to let him go
― 21st savagery fox (m bison), Saturday, 7 July 2018 00:02 (seven years ago)
Such a kings type of player
― Hall of Fam (Spottie), Saturday, 7 July 2018 00:03 (seven years ago)
If he was disappointed in the Bulls just wait till he gets to Sacramento.
― EZ Snappin, Saturday, 7 July 2018 00:04 (seven years ago)
its good the kings are around to scoop up disappointed guys
― sprout god (lag∞n), Saturday, 7 July 2018 00:12 (seven years ago)
Some one on Bulls twitter says to let him go to free up cap space for 2019 so we can watch all the free agents sign somewhere else other than Chicago.
― Jeff, Saturday, 7 July 2018 00:19 (seven years ago)
I say match it. It’s overpaying, but not obscenely so. Can always trade later.
― Jeff, Saturday, 7 July 2018 00:33 (seven years ago)
i wld not be confident in being able to trade later if i were the bulls
― sprout god (lag∞n), Saturday, 7 July 2018 00:36 (seven years ago)
Tough but fair
― Jeff, Saturday, 7 July 2018 00:36 (seven years ago)
I just hate when bulls fans get hung up on upcoming free agents, we have to keep cap space to sign Butler back! Then Kyrie! We’ll get Klay! Then Anthony Davis, they’ll all come here! Ain’t going to happen.
― Jeff, Saturday, 7 July 2018 00:52 (seven years ago)
i would be personally driving lavine to the airport at that number.
― call all destroyer, Saturday, 7 July 2018 00:56 (seven years ago)
you're right that free agents aren't giving chicago a second glance right now, but signing contracts like that assure that they would remain that way for many years.
xp
― 21st savagery fox (m bison), Saturday, 7 July 2018 00:57 (seven years ago)
He didn’t look great after coming back from the Acl
― Hall of Fam (Spottie), Saturday, 7 July 2018 00:59 (seven years ago)
4/38 Memphis offer sheet to Slo Mo
― Hall of Fam (Spottie), Saturday, 7 July 2018 01:00 (seven years ago)
like he's still p young, but nothing in these 4 seasons tells me this dude is worth that contract. terrible defensively, major injuries already, shooting pct trash, and he's getting all-star level money? nahhhhhh.
xxp

happy for him that he got a nice payday. not sure how good of a value that is if the spurs want to keep their powder dry. 50-50 call if the spurs match, i think they will and then spurs twitter will kill themselves.
― 21st savagery fox (m bison), Saturday, 7 July 2018 01:02 (seven years ago)
Bulls need to prepare for the dynasty that traditionally follows a stoked lakers/celtics rivalry
― scopin' VARs (Sufjan Grafton), Saturday, 7 July 2018 01:06 (seven years ago)
i’m still a pretty big levine fan but who ever knows with those second contracts... i wouldn’t hate that for the bullsapparently the bulls are trying to keep space open for brow but i think they have like 0 money committed past 19 so they could prob match that
― J0rdan S., Saturday, 7 July 2018 01:47 (seven years ago)
makes as much sense as anything for the kings tho
― J0rdan S., Saturday, 7 July 2018 01:48 (seven years ago)
levine still has some —upside— but hes never really put it together, has been majorly injured, doesnt seem like a good risk
― sprout god (lag∞n), Saturday, 7 July 2018 01:50 (seven years ago)
lavine is super fun to watch, I kinda miss him on the Wolves even if I don't think he's ever gonna be part of a good team
― The Desus & Mero Chain (upper mississippi sh@kedown), Saturday, 7 July 2018 01:50 (seven years ago)
i’d rather have lavine on that contract then wiggins on his max
― J0rdan S., Saturday, 7 July 2018 01:57 (seven years ago)
than*
bulls matched lmao
― 21st savagery fox (m bison), Saturday, 7 July 2018 01:57 (seven years ago)
xpost yeah I probably would too, barring some huge breakthrough wigs is gonna be one of the most untradeable contacts in the league
― The Desus & Mero Chain (upper mississippi sh@kedown), Saturday, 7 July 2018 02:05 (seven years ago)
if i was in wolves management that contract would keep me up at night
― Clay, Saturday, 7 July 2018 02:07 (seven years ago)
he promised to get better tho
― sprout god (lag∞n), Saturday, 7 July 2018 02:39 (seven years ago)
a promise is a promise

Nurkic 4/48 to stay in PDX
― Hall of Fam (Spottie), Saturday, 7 July 2018 04:36 (seven years ago)
I don’t hate that
― Clay, Saturday, 7 July 2018 04:40 (seven years ago)
4/48 sounds fine to me. Nurkic is young. he shows flashes of excellence, but he's unreliable. compared to the Meyers Leonard contract, this is sober good sense.
― A is for (Aimless), Saturday, 7 July 2018 04:45 (seven years ago)
that seems like a great price
― k3vin k., Saturday, 7 July 2018 05:04 (seven years ago)
esp considering he’ll be only 27 in that fourth year
― Clay, Saturday, 7 July 2018 05:14 (seven years ago)
I’m seeing 4/53 but it’s negligible
