the sitting out thing is against the cba, he would essentially lose his free agency that year i think

21st savagery fox (m bison), Friday, 6 July 2018 00:37 (seven years ago)

The Warriors might be insurmountable, but the Spurs were a playoff team without Kawhi last year and could’ve challenged the Warriors before Zara murdered Kawhi the year before. Kawhi in a contact year could be incredible.

My team hasn’t made the playoffs in years so I encourage everyone in striking distance to actual strike. Moreover, talking about assets is boring.

i think there's actually something to this. a healthy and reconciled kawhi with this spurs lineup would challenge for the 2 seed and then you just roll the dice and hope for injuries.

21st savagery fox (m bison), Friday, 6 July 2018 00:38 (seven years ago)

what if he's "injured" xp

k3vin k., Friday, 6 July 2018 00:52 (seven years ago)

Exactly. His “camp” hasn’t cleared him, probably for that reason

Hall of Fam (Spottie), Friday, 6 July 2018 00:53 (seven years ago)

the spurs with kawhi would be right in the mix for the third seed, but are not challenging for the 2 seed

k3vin k., Friday, 6 July 2018 00:54 (seven years ago)

aw but hear me out! the last two years of healthy kawhi they were 67 and 61 win teams! in a hypothetical universe where they bygones became bygones and the water went under the bridge and kawhi's leg is fine, they could be right there again in terms of wins which would put them in the 2nd seed last year. and i think houston will take a step back this year and warriors may not give a shit in the regular season again.

21st savagery fox (m bison), Friday, 6 July 2018 03:44 (seven years ago)

i mean look this isnt going to happen anyway since water is on the bridge still and he's getting traded, but STILL

grayson allen and joe ingles are going to become alt-right darlings arent they

21st savagery fox (m bison), Friday, 6 July 2018 03:50 (seven years ago)

in 3 summer league games trae young:

12/52 fg and 3/24 tp

Hall of Fam (Spottie), Friday, 6 July 2018 03:54 (seven years ago)

wack mamba stats

21st savagery fox (m bison), Friday, 6 July 2018 03:55 (seven years ago)

To be fair, he is tres young

EZ Snappin, Friday, 6 July 2018 03:57 (seven years ago)

touchrae

my mans derrick white was tearing up summer league this week, averaging 23 and 7 asts. after tearing up the d league last year, i think he's going to be a regular rotation player and might give the spurs enough reason to look at trading patty mills.

21st savagery fox (m bison), Friday, 6 July 2018 03:58 (seven years ago)

that young/doncic trade could end up the kinda thing that hawks fans never forget, shit like that can haunt a generation (cough greg oden cough)

Clay, Friday, 6 July 2018 04:02 (seven years ago)

lets hope not, hawks fans have suffered enough

21st savagery fox (m bison), Friday, 6 July 2018 04:02 (seven years ago)

my biggest fear for the hawks is that they saw trae taking crazy 3s with some big dick energy and they're like, oh thats definitely steph curry meanwhile he is bricking everything

21st savagery fox (m bison), Friday, 6 July 2018 04:03 (seven years ago)

lol i love grayson allen already. ingles and allen gonna wreak havoc on this league

yeah i think this is exactly what happened. their GM came from golden state!

J0rdan S., Friday, 6 July 2018 05:04 (seven years ago)

i have faith that trey young will be good btw... pelton's pre-draft projections did like him. i think it's reasonable to see him as having lillard-esque potential and if he fulfills that hawks fans won't be too sad. but it's a reeeeal stretch to think he's gonna be better than doncic.

J0rdan S., Friday, 6 July 2018 05:06 (seven years ago)

and generally i would be a little scared of the hawks GM just trying to transmute the warriors to atlanta. gives me rob hennigan vibes.

J0rdan S., Friday, 6 July 2018 05:07 (seven years ago)

yeah that’s the thing...the warriors are not something you just recreate.

call all destroyer, Friday, 6 July 2018 05:11 (seven years ago)

Worth a shot!

Hall of Fam (Spottie), Friday, 6 July 2018 05:13 (seven years ago)

That’s exactly what’s happening and yeah I never thought I’d quit watching the nba but this might do it. That being said, it will take a few years for this to play out so I’ll be patient

Heez, Friday, 6 July 2018 09:25 (seven years ago)

The Desus & Mero Chain (upper mississippi sh@kedown), Friday, 6 July 2018 14:19 (seven years ago)

it occurred to me that the warriors will still play the cavaliers on christmas, right? that should be fun lol

marcos, Friday, 6 July 2018 14:21 (seven years ago)

They haven't released the schedules yet so maybe they can shift some things around. I expect Celtics v. Lakers for Christmas.

EZ Snappin, Friday, 6 July 2018 15:12 (seven years ago)

Warriors v rockets prob

Hall of Fam (Spottie), Friday, 6 July 2018 15:12 (seven years ago)

pacers get o’quinn for a year. i don’t love the mcdermott contract but overall they’re had a great offseason.

call all destroyer, Friday, 6 July 2018 16:00 (seven years ago)

yeah thats a solid pickup

Hall of Fam (Spottie), Friday, 6 July 2018 16:06 (seven years ago)

tyreke evans made a lot of sense for them

J0rdan S., Friday, 6 July 2018 16:23 (seven years ago)

so many 1 year deals this free agency.

Hall of Fam (Spottie), Friday, 6 July 2018 17:31 (seven years ago)

ESPN Sources with @royceyoung: Oklahoma City, Carmelo Anthony will part ways this summer, likely saving team over 00M. Thunder working with 'Melo's reps on exits that include trade, stretch provision. Story: https://t.co/mJbxINv2Cd

k3vin k., Friday, 6 July 2018 18:06 (seven years ago)

He needs to go to the Lakers

EZ Snappin, Friday, 6 July 2018 18:22 (seven years ago)

fact

sprout god (lag∞n), Friday, 6 July 2018 18:26 (seven years ago)

I know this probably won't happen but I think he'd be a great fit for the Nets.

reggae mike love (polyphonic), Friday, 6 July 2018 18:28 (seven years ago)

no one's a bad fit for a blank canvas

ciderpress, Friday, 6 July 2018 18:32 (seven years ago)

i dont see houston being as good as they were this past season. apparently capella not happy with contract talks so far, talking about taking the qualifying offer then becoming an ufa next summer. wonder if some team with cap space is gonna lob a max at him and force houston to overpay

Hall of Fam (Spottie), Friday, 6 July 2018 18:33 (seven years ago)

Ahead of #France vs. #Turkey at the @FIBA U17 World Cup quarterfinals in #Argentina here are transition highlights of 6-5.5, 192 pound + 16 y/o lefty Killian Hayes, who has averaged 1.263 PPP on 19 such possessions (93rd %tile at the event) for his 4-0 #French squad pic.twitter.com/EcyXHvJ1z4

sprout god (lag∞n), Friday, 6 July 2018 19:29 (seven years ago)

i wonder if the spurs declined to offer him a contract as an olive branch to kawhi

J0rdan S., Friday, 6 July 2018 19:30 (seven years ago)

spurs r falling apart man

sprout god (lag∞n), Friday, 6 July 2018 19:31 (seven years ago)

he's not very good anymore

ciderpress, Friday, 6 July 2018 19:45 (seven years ago)

Manu may hang it up too. End of an era

Hall of Fam (Spottie), Friday, 6 July 2018 19:54 (seven years ago)

Time to rebuild.

EZ Snappin, Friday, 6 July 2018 19:55 (seven years ago)

kinda expected this. spurs are heavy at PG or at least combo guard. mills, murray, derrick white, lonnie walker might play some point, manu can play it if he's coming back. parker just had his worst season since his rookie year and will only decline further, yet he wants to play a bigger role. spurs could really only promise him a glorified assistant coach/player role from here on out.

21st savagery fox (m bison), Friday, 6 July 2018 21:59 (seven years ago)

in other words, he's leaving because the spurs ARE rebuilding.

21st savagery fox (m bison), Friday, 6 July 2018 22:02 (seven years ago)

btw manu cannot retire

21st savagery fox (m bison), Friday, 6 July 2018 22:04 (seven years ago)

Manu can’t retire. I need there to be NBA players older than me. That means I still have a chance.
