roberson’s injury was pretty gruesome, i wouldn’t just assume he’s coming back 100%
― J0rdan S., Sunday, 1 July 2018 16:34 (five years ago) link
i don’t see how you could have any problem with the thunder re-signing PG... i mean, what else are they supposed to do? you gotta just figure it out from there
― J0rdan S., Sunday, 1 July 2018 16:36 (five years ago) link
lowe & arnovitz were speculating that maybe eventually they’d try and get rid of russ instead... that seems impossible to imagine to me but it tracks more along the lines of what i think is their intractable problem with his style of play as it applies to the playoffs
― J0rdan S., Sunday, 1 July 2018 16:37 (five years ago) link
trading russ seems impossibl now tho considering "me and russ are friends and i like playing with him was a big selling pt for PG

kawhi to celtics confirmed jk
― sprout god (lag∞n), Sunday, 1 July 2018 19:00 (five years ago) link
OKC is truly stuck with Russ, but there are much worse albatrosses to have hanging around your neck.
― A is for (Aimless), Sunday, 1 July 2018 19:04 (five years ago) link
from the spurs perspective, gotta be good that both philly and lakers feel like threats to get bron. spurs know that whomever they trade mawhi to is prob going to get bron, too, so they are asking for a lot if they know the other team will sign both.

spurs shd prob prefer to trade him to the celtics then since they wont get lebron (and arent in the western conf) tho then the celtics will be amazing but theyre gonna be amazing either way if u trade kawhi to philly or lakers and bron joins then youve created a new amazing team
― sprout god (lag∞n), Sunday, 1 July 2018 19:05 (five years ago) link
also the celtics shd be willing to give up a lot to prevent kawhi + bron going to philly
― sprout god (lag∞n), Sunday, 1 July 2018 19:06 (five years ago) link
really bron shd just go to LA and start drama and not be that good imho

celtics should not make any moves that they wouldn't make if philly didn't exist imo

Here's essence of Paul George's 4-year, 37M deal, w/ player option: New CBA allows George to extend after 2nd anniversary of deal. Extending on max w/ OKC after year 2, while also opting out of final year, could make this 7-year, https://twitter.com/wojespn/status/101350601393119641790M-plus deal based on future cap projections.— Adrian Wojnarowski (@wojespn) July 1, 2018
hope you all like the rwb pg okc it's gonna be around for a while
― ciderpress, Sunday, 1 July 2018 19:38 (five years ago) link
honestly those 2 and Steven Adams is a great core in a world where the warriors didn't happen

obviously they had to do it and pg should actually be tradable on this contract but nobody's going to tell me that this is good team-building because it hasn't been and won't be. they're going to have to get out of the tax eventually and the price to do so will be painful. but hey, if i was getting these kinds of props:
That's a real mental competitive advantage that I now give OKC. Paul George's multi-year commitment I feel has potential to be the glue that cements them as a TEAM. Trust levels bout to be way high this season for OKC.— Rosalyn Gold-Onwude (@ROSGO21) July 1, 2018
Impossible to overstate the significance of this level of commitment from Paul. Both he and Russ locked up for remainder of their primes & OKC can apply long-term vision while building mindfully around thier stars. Amazing family-first approach paid off https://t.co/CtHDAHvX5p— David Griffin (@dg_riff) July 1, 2018
This is a massive, landmark achievement for the Thunder, and Sam Presti.— Royce Young (@royceyoung) July 1, 2018
just for retaining players, i wouldn't be too worried about actually winning either.

Rip Cavs and Marcos condolences although I’m sure Cavs fans were prepared
― Hall of Fam (Spottie), Monday, 2 July 2018 00:34 (five years ago) link
that he signed for 4 years instead of taking the 1+1 or whatever is pretty interesting... i guess it’s a recruitment strategy
― J0rdan S., Monday, 2 July 2018 00:35 (five years ago) link
spurs REALLY not going to want to trade kawhi to lakers unless they get the farm now. sixers might be even more inclined to trade more to get kawhi.
things i'm hoping for.

easy to say now but this has been a foregone conclusion for like a year
― call all destroyer, Monday, 2 July 2018 00:40 (five years ago) link

weird nba era is really freaking me out
― Clay, Monday, 2 July 2018 00:48 (five years ago) link
i think he was doing this with or without kawhi. the length of contract says to me he was willing to punt a year, recruit next summer, and try to win one in the third or fourth year of the contract
― call all destroyer, Monday, 2 July 2018 00:48 (five years ago) link
xxp really good chance! im just saying i know pop and rc ain't sending him there cheap
― 21st savagery fox (m bison), Monday, 2 July 2018 00:50 (five years ago) link
Other teams can offer more prob but won’t pull since he won’t commit long term anywhere else
― Hall of Fam (Spottie), Monday, 2 July 2018 00:51 (five years ago) link
I am now surprisingly invested in Luol Deng being on the Lakers' 15-man roster to start the 2018-19 season. More possible now.— Danny Leroux (@DannyLeroux) July 2, 2018
danny's right they're gonna have to dust off luol to field a full team
― call all destroyer, Monday, 2 July 2018 00:53 (five years ago) link
they’re gonna get kawhi
― J0rdan S., Monday, 2 July 2018 00:54 (five years ago) link
it's probably time to start talking about how much lebron + kawhi + some dudes scares us
― call all destroyer, Monday, 2 July 2018 00:56 (five years ago) link
would be interesting if they sign cousins to a one year deal as a tryout, now that they're not getting PG
― k3vin k., Monday, 2 July 2018 00:56 (five years ago) link
it’s interesting tho... on the one hand you can make an easy argument for essentially punting this year given the state of the warriors. maybe lebron doesn’t even want to make the playoffs! but still, how many years does lebron really have left to waste? it’s hard to construe this as a basketball decision in any real way. he could’ve signed a 1 year contract with any team and recruited guys to LA next offseason.
