That's fucked up. He was payed over 25 million to play in the NBA.

EZ Snappin, Tuesday, 19 June 2018 01:46 (seven years ago)

found some info on sign n trades

The Celtics could use restricted free agent Marcus Smart in a trade if the guard agreed to a three-year contract for around $36 million; the contract would have to be a minimum of three years based on the rules for a sign-and-trade deal. Combined with Smart's salary (which would count just $6 million for trade matching purposes because of the base-year compensation rule), Brown, Morris and Yabusele, the finances would work for Leonard. In fact, that trade works (by $11,426) even if Leonard does not waive his 15 percent trade kicker that would add $3 million to his $20 million salary for next year.

shams is about to pwn espn

Hall of Fam (Spottie), Tuesday, 19 June 2018 23:17 (seven years ago)

i'm sure woj's checks are a decent salve for him no longer being allowed to break picks

call all destroyer, Tuesday, 19 June 2018 23:52 (seven years ago)

lol yeah otm, pick-scooping is a pretty menial beat

k3vin k., Wednesday, 20 June 2018 00:07 (seven years ago)

Otm... but it’s what he built his legacy off of

Hall of Fam (Spottie), Wednesday, 20 June 2018 00:24 (seven years ago)

Been lots of talk (understandably) about ESPN not breaking draft pick information ahead of time during this year’s NBA Draft, but it isn't going to be the only league broadcast partner to be withholding from breaking picks. Yahoo, Turner, etc. have agreed to do the same.

pressure from above no doubt

micah, Wednesday, 20 June 2018 01:21 (seven years ago)

Luka Doncic has moved to forefront of Atlanta's internal conversation on the third overall pick in Thursday's NBA Draft, league sources tell ESPN. Michigan State's Jaren Jackson and Duke's Marvin Bagley (if Kings pass on Bagley at No. 2) remain in contention for No. 3.

Heez, Wednesday, 20 June 2018 02:14 (seven years ago)

If the hawks get Luka bc of Ayton and the Kings I'm gonna be so happy

Heez, Wednesday, 20 June 2018 02:15 (seven years ago)

just watched some shai gilgeous-alexander video and was pleasantly surprised, he's an interesting prospect. def looks like he'll be a playable point guard earlier than sexton because he can actually pass.

Spurs' Kawhi Leonard and Gregg Popovich met on Tuesday in San Diego, league sources tell Yahoo.

— Shams Charania (@ShamsCharania) June 20, 2018

OH MY GOD

21st savagery fox (m bison), Wednesday, 20 June 2018 03:27 (seven years ago)

we're either getting kawhi trade news or a supermax extension in the next 48 hours

21st savagery fox (m bison), Wednesday, 20 June 2018 03:27 (seven years ago)

he gone

ESPN Sources: Kawhi Leonard was not alone in his meeting with Gregg Popovich today in San Diego.

yep

21st savagery fox (m bison), Wednesday, 20 June 2018 04:03 (seven years ago)

the third party was lagoon

ciderpress, Wednesday, 20 June 2018 04:03 (seven years ago)

the shelburne/woj article was basically like "yeah no for real he only wants to go to LA" and im like ://////////// we're really gonna get tobias harris and some late lottery picks arent we fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck

21st savagery fox (m bison), Wednesday, 20 June 2018 04:04 (seven years ago)

how has tobias harris been traded so many times already, he's not even bad

ciderpress, Wednesday, 20 June 2018 04:06 (seven years ago)

i guess he's in that narrow hot potato zone where he's good enough to get paid but not good enough to pay

ciderpress, Wednesday, 20 June 2018 04:07 (seven years ago)

so im gonna guess that by playing hardball and saying "LA only", spurs recognize they have LESS incentive to trade him right away bc lakers and clippers current assets arent good enough for the spurs to jump right away. then the spurs think they have time to do some mending of fences because at this point a 10% chance of kashi getting over it is better than what lakers and clippers have to offer.

21st savagery fox (m bison), Wednesday, 20 June 2018 04:12 (seven years ago)

Charlotte is finalizing a deal to send Dwight Howard to the Brooklyn Nets for Timofey Mozgov, league sources tell ESPN. Nets will save 7M on deal in 2019-20 season, allowing them to create two max salary slots.

— Adrian Wojnarowski (@wojespn) June 20, 2018

dwight on the move again.

21st savagery fox (m bison), Wednesday, 20 June 2018 13:32 (seven years ago)

Unless I'm missing something, Charlotte took on an extra year of Moz salary (19-20) and two seconds to maybe make sure they duck the tax in 18-19? (Nets have a bunch of extra 2nds). Absolutely brutal. Great deal for the Nets. https://t.co/anvtsRGR8F

21st savagery fox (m bison), Wednesday, 20 June 2018 13:35 (seven years ago)

the nets are too bad to care about the Dwight curse, reasonable

ciderpress, Wednesday, 20 June 2018 13:54 (seven years ago)

his deal expires after this year, too, so he's free to sign a terrible deal with some other hapless team

21st savagery fox (m bison), Wednesday, 20 June 2018 14:13 (seven years ago)

the shelburne/woj article was basically like "yeah no for real he only wants to go to LA" and im like ://////////// we're really gonna get tobias harris and some late lottery picks arent we fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck

I would kill a man for us to get Tobias Harris back.

Allen (etaeoe), Wednesday, 20 June 2018 14:38 (seven years ago)

what's his defense like

21st savagery fox (m bison), Wednesday, 20 June 2018 14:41 (seven years ago)

It’s been team dependent. He was fine on the Pistons and better on the Clippers. He’d be good on the Spurs. Dude is VERY Spursy. But obviously not Kawhi. :/

Allen (etaeoe), Wednesday, 20 June 2018 14:46 (seven years ago)

It’s funny how perfect Kawhi is for the current (or even past) Spurs systems. He’s so dumb.

Allen (etaeoe), Wednesday, 20 June 2018 14:47 (seven years ago)

*sigh* yeah...

at this point, if the spurs can be competitive while they develop young talent, im cool. kawhi is special tho. not often you find a guy like that at #15.

harris would immediately become the spurs 2nd best player if he got traded here tho.

21st savagery fox (m bison), Wednesday, 20 June 2018 14:49 (seven years ago)

haha dwight. what a career

Hall of Fam (Spottie), Wednesday, 20 June 2018 15:07 (seven years ago)

Did he ever do it?

Jeff, Wednesday, 20 June 2018 15:28 (seven years ago)

his statistical consistency is extremely impressive but he truly must be the one weird friend everyone has who doesn't mix well with others.

omar little, Wednesday, 20 June 2018 16:07 (seven years ago)

i mean in each time he's been traded he's been or become the best player in the deal. i think because he's not a guy you build a team around but is v productive he's a popular trade piece.

21st savagery fox (m bison), Wednesday, 20 June 2018 16:20 (seven years ago)

He has all nearly all the skills and nearly none of the brain of an elite NBA player.

EZ Snappin, Wednesday, 20 June 2018 16:23 (seven years ago)

oof

21st savagery fox (m bison), Wednesday, 20 June 2018 16:24 (seven years ago)

He can star in the Big3.

EZ Snappin, Wednesday, 20 June 2018 18:04 (seven years ago)

It's actually impressive that everything he does is a parody of himself.

tsrobodo, Wednesday, 20 June 2018 18:07 (seven years ago)

I thought Lowe’s piece on Jaylen and Kawhi was good

EZ Snappin, Wednesday, 20 June 2018 19:24 (seven years ago)

Lol the hawks’ locker room apparently broke out in cheers when they heard Dwight was traded

Heez, Wednesday, 20 June 2018 20:43 (seven years ago)

lmbo. have any of those teams when the magic were good ever spoke to those days with him?

Hall of Fam (Spottie), Wednesday, 20 June 2018 20:45 (seven years ago)

btw thank you to whoever changed the board descrip

ciderpress, Wednesday, 20 June 2018 22:36 (seven years ago)

man, giving up the #4 to shed parsons is rouuggggggh

Ian's report is accurate. The Knicks are reportedly exploring the option of trading up to the #4 spot in the draft, currently owned by Memphis. The Grizzlies have been adamant about shedding Chandler Parsons' contract in any deal. https://t.co/z4Yp0w6hfq
