few dynasties lol this is a sport where the Celtics won 11 straight the lakers won five in a decade only really interrupted by a Celtics mini dynasty the bulls won 3+3 with a little break that barely counts the spurs dominated nearly an entirely decade and now the warriors will have won 3 out of 4 and only lost the one due to a superhuman effort from the 1 or 2 player of all time

anyone else notice lebron switching out from guarding KD pretty much the whole 4th? seemed like a few time a warrior player would just kinda run by kd and not even bother to actually screen and they would still switch anyway.

teams switch with almost no provocation these days i dont quite understand it, maybe its just for simplicities sake

this happened in the rockets series too and i didn't get it. just like, completely perfunctory screens to trigger switches. players on both teams just like... openly going thru the motions as fi there's no choice in the matter?

I'm sure they're coached to just switch and conserve energy

cavs are definitely coached to switch everything because they're not capable of doing anything more nuanced.

the warriors did this in game 1 and it turned into curry guarding lbj on like 75% of the plays. games 2-3 dray and kd have been fighting through it and it looks pretty effortless. also kd picking up bron at 3/4 court every once in a while is smart, making him work the whole game.

given all the advances in NBA defenses over last 10 yrs or so, it is befuddling that they'd just roll over to what the offense wants to do so often

maybe that's what the defense wants to do!

yeah I guess I'd like to hear from coaches on why it's preferable to alternatives. Gotta think there'll be a sea change on that part of defense philosophy.
